The BLF LT1 is the best lantern there is!

Sofirn BLF LT1 for sure. By default it only goes up to 600 lumens but you can do some soldering on the driver to increase output. It has color ramping from 2700K to 5000K IIRC. Uses high CRI samsung emitters. Here's an Amazon link.
Edit: There are two versions. As far as I know the only difference is the new version supports USB C to C charging and the old version doesn't. I don't know what version the Amazon one is. Here is the new version on Sofirn's site. Looks like it's sold out though.

Need help finding the best lantern light (BLF LT1?), and also a "hybrid adjustable focal beam - flood to thrower"? ( pardon my verbiage); why are those so out of vogue? also, is there any type of universal strap or adapter to put an average size light on to a backpack strap?
-
I've seen a lot of love for BLF but seems like a very specific type of 1 trick pony; also 600 lumens isn't a tremendous amount of light, but I'd be hugely grateful for any thoughts defending this light: uses will be car camping, workbench and a under-lit closet;
-
as for "hybrid adjustable focal beam" "flood to thrower" I'm sure there's a more technically precise name for what I'm referring to, but it's just... Not a very popular style anymore, and wondering why? I've had a few that are magnificent. are there any "exception to the rule" types in this class?
any statement is actually a question in disguise. any and all help is hugely appreciated. my fellow family car campers thank you. ( I am totally not begging for someone to drop knowledge )

Ever consider headlamps? I have a 80 dollar lantern that I never even bother to bring out anymore, headlamps are just superior in every way. Especially if it's just you and your girlfriend. If I was camping with a large group, a lantern would be nice.
If you are set on a lantern, check out this one.

Will last for days as long as you aren't running it on max. Expensive, but very nice. Made by some guys on budgetlightforums, definitely beats anything similar on the market.

Sofirn batteries are decent and most people recommend buying with batteries.
Edit I believe Amazon is selling new version.

If you like the PD35 and want something similar take a peak at the Sofirn SP31 produces 1200 lumens comes with a battery and charging solution for $30\~ as for a lantern cant beat the BLF LT1 in my opinion for the price including 4 18650 cells to power it you can get it on amazon for around $80\~ but you can find discount codes around to drop the price further if your willing to have it shipped from china.
