These are probably a better alternative. Similar design, but can swivel to 10° - https://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Clamping-Bookshelf-Surrounding-MS56B/dp/B000X9O8SI

I have them and they are solid.

Nice setup dude. Obviously need a screen but it's a great start.

I recommend these Videosecu Mounts for your bookshelf surrounds. I use them to hold up my Klipsch bookshelf speakers and am able to angle them down towards the seating position as they are 2ft above my ear height. I also reversed the orientation of the clamping bracket so they are as close as possible to the wall.

Just a thought.

hmmm... so, is wall mounting bad for acoustics reasons? same with speakers on the out-facing wall - is this for acoustics, or is it primarily to avoid annoying neighbors? the opposite side of the wall is actually a closet, if that makes any difference...

I was picturing something like this to hold the speakers - maybe something with padding? Could this accomplish something similar to the cabinets in question?

I wall-mounted 6x KEF Q100s for my 7.1 setup using the side-clamping ones. They don’t have a huge range of motion, but they’re sturdy and can hold even larger (33 lbs max) bookshelf speakers. From the looks of your setup, they should work well.

Thanks so much! The Gibson is particularly special to me. And here are the speaker mounts, I’ve had them for years and they still hold up. Imo it’s way better if you can mount them to the wall to decouple them from your desk. Saves space too

Nice clean setup. Which mounts are you using for the side surrounds? They look similar to the VideoSecu ones, but the wall attachment point is a bit different/cleaner on yours.

Great use of small space, but your speaker placement needs some work IMO.

Your centre could probably do with going up a bit to be at ear level, and is that concoction of wall brackets and straps really the best you could do? What about something like these: https://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Clamping-Bookshelf-Surrounding-MS56B/dp/B000X9O8SI/ - I'd get them as low as I could (i.e. just above that door) while I was at it.

Would you recommend a Bowers & Wilkins Mini-Theater set?

This is what I mean, just 5 Bowers & Wilkins M1s but w/ a less expensive subwoofer

I don't have that much space in my room, so I figure for now I'll get a decent subwoofer + receiver. Then in the future when I transition my stuff to a larger room, I can use 4 of the M1s as rear speakers + keep the subwoofer and receiver. Is this worth it for the value, or can I get much better easy-to-wall-mount speakers for a cheaper price? Also, I'm wondering if it'd be worth it to get a center channel speaker and run with 4 M1s, rather than using a M1 as my center channel. But the whole 5 M1s setup just seems really convenient to me, especially when dealing with my space constraints.

Tl;dr

 1. Is there a better option than the M1s for convenient, small-ish, and easy to wall mount speakers? (Sound quality and price)
 2. Should I replace a M1 with a real center channel bookshelf speaker?
 3. ~~Are small speakers mediocre compared to their bookshelf and tower brothers?~~
 4. ~~Would these M1s sound better than a Sonos set? My logic was that if I had to run power cables to Sonos speakers, I might as well run all the other wires too and it's not that much more convenient than hooking everything up to a receiver.~~
 5. ~~Would it be better to get bookshelf speakers and wall mount them with something like this~~ ~~bookshelf speaker mount~~~~? The only issue with this is that I'd think it'd be hideous if there were four of these 30 lbs and massive bookshelf speakers in every top corner of my room. So this is why I don't think bookshelf speakers are an option right now, not to mention it doesn't seem as easy to tilt safely as smaller speakers.~~

Thank you.

if you're going to get technical, you need the tweeters aimed directly at your face, forming an equilateral triangle, with segments 1 meter apart, and the speakers need to be as far from the wall as possible. if you're going to be putting them near a wall for space issues,, Wall Mounts are the SHIT. https://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Clamping-Bookshelf-Surrounding-MS56B/dp/B000X9O8SI/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=monitor+wall+mount+speaker&qid=1608006940&sr=8-3

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000X9O8SI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but I don't recommend if you have the HS8's ! I had to drill into my speakers on the bottom in order to hold them in (even with them flat, the vibrations caused them to slip out once).

I've had success with these wall speaker mounts. Bonus is you can route the speaker wirethrough the arm and into the wall if you want to get fiddly with it.

They also have padding and a vise mechanism to really hold the speaker. Not bad for < US$30 for the pair.

Yep, that should work. I would get one that also tilt up and down. I has the same issue with desk space and the speaker is mount higher than the monitor but it is tilted down. I used this bracket. https://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Clamping-Bookshelf-Surrounding-MS56B/dp/B000X9O8SI/ref=psdc_3236443011_t3_B07T5J2BTX

I wanted to post more photos, but unfortunately I could only post one. The PC is on the left side, its that white case you see in the photo. All monitors are adjustable from the wall mounts they are on I can tilt, raise lower, or turn in any direction :)
. The speaker stands: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000X9O8SI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I managed to wall mount my T0's by modifying a set of generic side clamping speaker mounts.
Drilled a hole into the base plate for the T0's center screw and attached wood blocks to the clamps b/c the T0's are a bit too narrow.
Not a perfect solution, but its sturdy as hell and I think it looks great!

How about... Hmm does that door really open up right there? Holy cow. Maybe check another wall like that guy said.

Anyways.

That's a Kallax shelf, right? I think you could double-wide a box by taking a divider out. There's your receiver, right in a double wide shelf in the Kallax. This also frees us the shelf to the side of the kallax where the receiver currently is for a subwoofer later.

AND EITHER

A.) Center the kallax if you can, center the tv on the middle of the kallax. Do the math on a shelf life this - https://www.amazon.com/PERLESMITH-Universal-Stand-Adjustable-Management/dp/B077MJZ6ZG/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=tv+stand&qid=1579067412&sr=8-4 See if you can get one that will raise the tv high enough to fit you L and R bookshelf under the tv on the shelf, get what I'm saying? Though make sure you measure your bookshelf and tv and everything to see if it all works because it might not get high enough. Boom you're done for like $30

B.) With the tv centered, whether or not the kallax is, wall mount your bookshelves to either side of the tv with something like this https://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Clamping-Bookshelf-Surrounding-MS56B/dp/B000X9O8SI/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=speaker+wall+mount&qid=1579067604&sr=8-4 make sure it'll fit your tv! boom done for $20

Do either of those work? Then you'd have some leftover chowder for a bluetooth receiver, make sure you get one with like APT-X or whatever good codec your phone supports, heck maybe throw in $20 or so on an accent light switch for the back of the tv the light might dig that.

Also you could do a lot to make it look better for free or near free. You kind of got a cable hell going on. You could get a pack of velcro cable tie straps and just try to hide all the cables.

Projector is a Xiaomi Laser 150.

Reciever is a Sony STR-DN1080.

Speakers are SSCS3 (2), SSCS5, SSCS8, SACS9 (2), SSCSE

Rack is a Sysracks 15U Server Rack

Wall mounts are VideoSecu Side Clamping Bookshelf Speaker Mounts.

Not a super impressive setup, I know, but it's my first home theater that isn't a home theater in a box and it sounds pretty damn good for someone that's not an audiophile.
