No Wifi or Bluetooth. For wifi you would need a usb wifi dongle antenna or a dedicated wifi card. Something like thisLink would cover both bluetooth and wireless. For blue tooth you can buy similar things if you wanted them seperate.

I used this in my first build. It works great and is the latest intel chipset supporting WiFi 6 and BT 5.0. Just plugged it in and installed the latest intel drivers and was good to go. Took about ten minutes.

The Dark Rock Pro 4 is one of the best air coolers, beating liquid coolers. You should have no problem overclocking with that cooler. You don't need to buy a wifi motherboard, get something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XM6XZ1F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_zOelFb90V7F2S

My experience using a PCI-E wifi card vs USB wi-fi adapter

For the past several years, I've always used a USB wi-fi adapter in my PC, most recently THIS ONE which I bought for $14.99 a couple years ago.

Even though I was connected to my 5ghz network in my house, and I have a 100 Mbps connection at home, I was never able to pull in more than 25 Mbps using that one. I always chalked it up to the distance from the PC to the Router, even though I always had full bars of coverage.

Enter today. I finally decided to get a PCI-E wifi card, THIS ONE which I paid $36.95 for.

First speed test I did, I got 100 Mbps. 2nd test, 80 Mbps.

So if you are building a PC, don't make the same mistake I did. Skip the USB wi-fi adapter, and go straight for the PCI-E ones instead.

Tl:Dr USB wi-fi adapters suck, PCI-E is the way to go.

Not that I am aware of.

On Amazon I’m seeing a price difference of about $80 between the B550 and x570

I have a Tomahawk Max at home and use this WiFi/Bluetooth card - WiFi 6 w/ BT 5.0 - works like a champ

Honestly unless you are planning on doing 3090’s in SLI or multiple PCIe 4.0 m2 SSDs you won’t see the benefit of the increased chipset bandwidth of the x570

I’d recommend getting the above WiFi/BT chard or looking at a different MoBo in that $150-$200 price range that has WiFi - like the Aours B550

Hey man, if you're still looking, I've been using this WiFi/Bluetooth card and have been really impressed with the range and signal strength. If you apply the coupon under the price, it comes out to $32.

You can probably find a good wifi adaptor under $50. I'll put in a link. Some wifi adaptors will state that it includes Bluetooth. Most motherboards don't include on board wifi or Bluetooth since many gamers use ethernet so they don't include wifi to save money. Pretty sure the slots should reach since your motherboard has a pcie slot at the bottom and your case should have space.

Actually, if you can, return it. Wifi6 (ax200) cards are easy to get now, and would work much better.

For example [ax200 is the only wifi6 card out right now, all the "wifi cards" on amazon are just adapting the card for the pcie slot]

Looks like that MOBO has Bluetooth 4.0 so you won't get all the features of 5.0. It looks like the BT and Wi-Fi are built-in and can not be upgraded directly. You could upgrade with an expansion card like this, just be sure to disable the onboard BT and Wi-Fi

Yeah I think this one is really good: https://www.amazon.com/Ubit-Wireless-Bluetooth-MU-MIMO-Ultra-Low/dp/B07XM6XZ1F

It supports the latest WiFi 6 (ax) protocol for a really fast connection provided your router supports it. It also has Bluetooth 5.0.

It does not have wifi and most board i would say include wifi in their name if they have it but it not that big of a deal just get something like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07XM6XZ1F?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

It plug into your pci-e connector like your graphics card and gives you everything on board wifi would just look for one that supports ayleqst your internet speed and you should be good

There are no B450 MAX boards which are both Ryzen 3rd gen ready and have WiFi built in unfortunately, your best bet is a PCIe WiFi card in your build.

My wi-fi connection is around 5G (at least that's what the network band says) so can this wifi/BT adapter go up to 5G or is it locked ay 2.4G? Also, would it be better for me to go with the previous link or this USB adapter?

This one seems to have great reviews and isn't too costly. Plus you'll be able to take it with you as you upgrade.

If you want a cheaper option without the latest technology, this one will get the job done and should be fine for most uses.

If you pick up a kit like this, it will include the M.2 Wifi card along with antennas:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085M7VPDP/

You then just install the accompanying PCI bracket, and secure the antennas to that.

For what it's worth though, after using the above kit in my system, in hind sight, I think it would be cleaner to use a PCIE card instead, to reduce extraneous (fragile) antenna cable management (personal preference, of course):

Help. Bluetooth unstable. (Ubuntu 20.04)

Ubuntu/Linux noob here and first time posting here. Recently I did my very first computer build with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS as my OS (specs linked below; if anyone asks I did use the stock cooler from AMD which is why there is no CPU cooler listed here). I bought a wireless and wired network adapter not included on the specs list.

Wired: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CFATNI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wireless: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XM6XZ1F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The wireless adapter out of the box works flawlessly when it comes to wi-fi connection, no driver installation necessary. The issue comes with Bluetooth that's included with it. As I'm typing right now, my Bluetooth is working. But earlier, the troubleshooting just took forever and I'm still worried about my issue happening again.

See when I was trying to fix my Bluetooth, it was connecting to my headphones technically. But every time I so much as move my head at a different angle, it would break and no sound would come through until I moved my head back to the original position. Even my shoulder touching my headphones caused issues until I put it back in its original place.

  1. I started off with Stack Overflow to see if anyone was having these issues. I tried all the ones I could find but it wasn't working or the solution they gave was already applied (for ex: they would say update kernel version when it was at the correct version already or they would say to ensure bluez and pulseaudio was installed when it was) yet it was still having issues.
  2. There is a USB connection you must make to a 9 pin USB header on your motherboard in order for Bluetooth to be enabled. I opened up my case to see maybe the connection was loose. I secured it in place and tried again. Nope.

Then my problem solving resulted in me turning Bluetooth and my headphones on and off again plus rebooting over and over again and also unplugging the USB connection as described in 2) and plugging it back in. I did this for at least 30 minutes then presto, it finally connects and I can move my head and body freely with no issues which is where I'm at right now. Now it seems silly for me to type when my solution is solved right?

Well, let's just say that not only did this scenario happen just now before I'm writing this post, but it also happened last night. After I had solved it last night and it was connecting with no issues, I was thinking oh great it's fixed perfectly. No, I had to troubleshoot it the same way again. Call me amateur, but I really doubt my solution is really practical every time this happens. Plus, even now as I show in another image (also linked below), Bluetooth on Ubuntu registers my headphones (ATH-ANC700BT) as 'Not Set Up' even though I'm listening to music perfectly right now. I don't think my headphones are the problem because they connect to my Laptop which uses Windows without problems.

I'm sorry if I said a lot and/or included too much information. I don't know what I'm supposed to mention when it comes to this. But I'm really just trying to get to the bottom of my issue. I'm completely new to Ubuntu. I'm continuously trying to find solutions online, but right now I don't even wanna touch the Bluetooth settings as I'm afraid I may go back to square 1. Any help would be appreciated.

When looking at wifi/bluetooth adapters the main options are:
intel - if you want the new shiny thing and bluetooth is important, this may be the least bad option
qualcomm/atheros - tends to sell to oems like laptop makers, no bt5 yet, somewhat older tech but tends to be stable. best option for access points
broadcom - depending on the device the driver situation can be bad, avoid

When picking an adapter there is usually a tradeoff between newness and how tested the driver is. so if you go for a new adapter maybe look for user reviews that confirm it works with the particular device (ie: bt game controller) you are planning to use.

For "wifi6" aka "the one with 802.11ax and bluetooth 5", the most common adapter is the intel ax200.
These are usually either built into a motherboard on a laptop/desktop, or come as a small card that goes into a laptop, you can install one in a desktop with a pcie adapter card.
Also, virtually any bluetooth adapter you will find is going to be usb, if you get a pcie card it will likely have a usb cable you plug into a usb header on your motherboard, even boards that have embedded bluetooth will show the adapter as usb. I assume there is some historical reason for this.

Most wifi6 cards available now just take that intel laptop adapter, throw it in on a pcie card, then put their own branding on it. Some examples:
edup
ubit
asus1 asus2
tplink1 tplink2

example if you wanted to buy the card and adapter separately:
wifi adapter
pcie card to hold it

If I had to buy one of those right now I would probably lean toward the red tplink model just because the external antenna will yield better reception, and the philips screws on the heatsink indicate it might be easy to replace the wifi adapter when in the future when wifi7 shows up.
That said, I haven't used any of those devices personally. They all use the same radio so they should functional similarly.

Since you're gaming the 3600 would be better than the 2700X mainly due to IPC, despite having 2 less cores. I also swapped the memory for a similar cheaper kit. If you need wireless/BT then get this card. About the same price as that Gigabyte but uses an Intel AX200 chipset which newer and superior.
