The only cable compatible with the Xbox one is the real tone cable. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I0701P4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_4UoDFb5C9R209

I know its not ideal, but its the only guitar I have - Rock Band 3 Squier Pro Guitar
Hey everyone,
So i have read threads and understand the Rock Band 3 Pro Guitar isnt ideal for Rocksmith. It doesnt allow some nuiances to playing - but I dont have the funds to buy a new guitar right now.
I was looking at getting Rocksmith since quarantine for me is going to last awhile - im in one of the 'harder' hit states.
Rocksmith says it requires this peripheral for PC to work - https://www.amazon.com/Ubisoft-Rocksmith-Cable-Trilingual-playstation-2/dp/B00I0701P4
I currently own the Rock Band MIDI Pro Adapter for the Rock Band Pro Guitar... will I still need that peripheral for Rock Smith or can the Rock Band 3 MIDI Pro Adapter act as the connector without needing to buy the RockSmith peripheral?
Thanks for any help and advice, hope to be joining the community officially soon!
Take care and be safe

Yes you need a specific wire to run it to a console or pc. this one is what you need. Kinda expensive but from what i hear from the RS subreddit, its better to just get an official cable than a cheaper one and having to fiddle with configurations. Other than that, just plug it in, have your pc install the necessary drivers, launch rocksmith and have fun!

If you haven't purchased the game, it's on Steam. Wait for the upcoming summer sale (June 25th-July 9th, I believe) to get the game probably 60%+ off as well as DLC 40% off. The newest ones might still be full price for another month or two, though.

Rocksmith's real tone cable should do the trick? Not sure how the price compares to other options though...

I’ve never seen it that high.
$20 right now

This cable works for all consoles. It's OEM and only $20. I suggest a guitar that has a humbucker in the bridge position, since the game was pretty much made to use that.

Isn't it $20 on Amazon? Hard to imagine a better sale than that.

Amazon is your friend. Absolutely worth it. Be sure to get it on PC, console versions are notorious for input lag issues and the PC version just has way more custom modded songs to add. Wanna jam to Zeppelin? Tool? Baby Shark? You can do it on the PC.

Yes, there is a cable. I use it to connect my acoustic with an attached pickup I also got from amazon.

Here you go Although I should note that I cancelled the first order because it got delayed, then reordered it and it now says it’s in backlog for a few days.

You need to purchase a "real tone cable". There are other ways but I haven't tried them. The game requirements are to use this cable
If you have a newer Mac that does not have USB ports you need a lightning to USB converter cable as well

If you buy a specific DLC (Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock) it unlocks the ability to play Custom DLC, of which there are several Band-Maid songs charted and free to play. Personally they are beyond my ability right now but it's nice to take a crack at it.

- You also have the option of replacing your cache.psarc file with this one, which enables the Direct Connect Mode. Links to another thread about this method.
- Or if your interface has too many inputs for that to work well, this method using loopback may be a usable option.
