28$...

Just saying, this could not only affect your performance now, but if you say if that thing moves and buzzs and messes up. It could have a lot more impact on your board and power supply.

Going to a SSD from a HDD you will not even begin to understand the speed difference.

I have an i3 8700 i think it is, and a 970 4gb? Gtx. I can play assassins creed odyssey on medium no issues. My pc from off to desktop takes roughly 10 seconds. You will thank me. Sincerely condering a SSD.

Here is a link to the one I bought:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075RJS55D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It works most of the time, but every once in awhile, I'll get one game where it takes about 2 minutes to load the buildings. Really bad if there are other people at your landing zone.

this sale seems horribly average

Team GX2 256gb for $26.99

ADATA SU635 240gb $27.99

Silicon Power A55 256gb $27.99

a 250gb SSD without dram can easily be had for under $30 every day

$8 more than the drive you have, more than twice the storage. I put the 500gb version in my PS3 and the 1TB in a PS4. Great drives.

This is true, when it comes to new computers, there’s a threshold below around $500 where you’re really not getting adequate value for your money.

If you’re okay with less overall storage, you can get a 256GB SSD for $40 USD here: Silicon Power 256GB SSD 3D NAND A55 SLC Cache Performance Boost SATA III 2.5" 7mm (0.28") Internal Solid State Drive (SP256GBSS3A55S25) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075RJS55D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_zNAzEb8GN054S

I have my / partition on a 128gb drive of that brand and my /home on the 256gb version. Had quite a bit of I/O and still running great.

Don't know what country you are in, but hoping you're in the US.

https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-Performance-Internal-SP256GBSS3A55S25/dp/B075RJS55D/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=256GB+SSD&qid=1578009114&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011&rnid=2470954011&rps=1&sr=8-3

$29 for a 256GB SSD. Install EFT on it. Never worry about loading in late.

Its not the best drive, but it still faster than a HDD - and its dirt cheap so even if it fails after a few months, you'll have made your money back 10 fold just in loading a map on-time with everyone else and not being spawn killed.

Silicon Power A55, it's among the top rated and best selling on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075RJS55D

128GB is $19, 256GB is $28. 512GB is $49, and 1TB is $88.

Also fix your RAM, you should have 8GB (2x 4GB or 4x 2GB) or 16GB (2x 8GB or 4x 4GB).

You have 12GB which is unbalanced (1x 8GB + 1x 4GB or 3x 4GB).

Your CPU is designed to work with 2 sticks of the same RAM, 4 sticks is acceptable.

Try this to replace it for no more than $40 and this actually makes the game load faster, look better, and render while way up in the air....

Just get any enclosure under 10$ with the best usb3.0(i think) and you are good. Ive ran this for a year or so and crashing happens like only when they release a big update-then it gets fixed.

Any external USB3 drive will work...the base PS4 uses a SATA2 bus so it will never transfer data faster than ~300MB/s no matter how fast your drive is or whether it's internal or not.

You could put [this] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075RJS55D/) inside of [this] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OJ3UJ2S/) and on a base PS4 it will perform the same as any more expensive/faster drive installed internally.

Yeah. It’s totally compatible and is external. In order for the Xbox to recognize it, it needs to be 256GB or larger. I grabbed this SSD :

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075RJS55D/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_hJGfEb0E2KD2F

Then, you can grab an enclosure separately, all you need to do is place it right into the case and close it up. This is the one I got.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OJ3UJ2S/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_9LGfEbYWMPJVP

Uninstall the game from your console’s drive, reinstall to the SSD and you’re good to go. Any other games you put on there will load faster as well.

You can pick up a 250GB mx500 on amazon for 34 bucks. It's worth the upgrade and is pretty cheap. It's sata, so you can just add it in and put WoW and another game or two on it :)

If you need to go even cheaper a SP 250gb is 26 bucks...

For about $40USD you can pick up a 256GB SSD and external case . Totally worth the investment, especially if you’re playing The Division 2. Fast travel times go from 45secs to about 10secs. Makes that game’s load times tolerable. Also on my OG Xbox One it seems to run fastest when plugged into the side USB port, not the back ones.

Edit: grammar

A hard drive shouldn't fail that soon. But they definitely can.

Could just be a shitty windows install then. Which again I'd get a small ssd to run windows and your programs off of. And do a clean install instead of trying to repair Windows.

You can get a decent 128gb SSD for $20 Silicon Power or Kingston or a 256gb for $28 from Silicon Power.

SSDs have really gone down in price. That's enough space to install windows and most of your programs but not a whole lot else.

2tb HDDs are $50

Definitely get an SSD if at all possible, you can find them for less than $40 and it'll make a world of difference.

The absolute bare bones drive I would recommend, and it’s just a little bit out of budget, would be the Western Digital 500GB My Passport (WD 500GB My Passport Go SSD Cobalt Portable External Storage, USB 3.0 - WDBMCG5000ABT-WESN https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MVWJZVS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_6bgTEbMZ34EG5)

You could potentially stay within budget by getting a 256GB like this: (Silicon Power 256GB SSD 3D NAND A55 SLC Cache Performance Boost SATA III 2.5" 7mm (0.28") Internal Solid State Drive (SP256GBSS3A55S25) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075RJS55D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KhgTEb18JT071). Just bear in mind that’s an internal drive, so you’d need to get a SATA to USB cable in order to connect it to your console.

I can’t speak for the quality or reliability of either of these drives (WD has a good reputation, I know nothing of the Silicon Power brand - seems sketchy to be honest

I just ordered the following for my Pi4 and should get them today. YAY new toys!

SSD: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075RJS55D/
Enclosure:: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LY97QE8/

I think the Pi3 can already boot off USB so you should be all set. Pi4 has a beta firmware that needs to be flashed to support USB booting.

Edit: and if you really want to look cool there is the M.2 Enclosure Adapter. Yeah mega overkill for a Pi. LOL https://www.newegg.com/riitop-nvmeta-enc9210/p/0VN-006F-00051

Just a quick check on amazon

Intel i5 10400 : $182

256gb SSD : $27

8gb DDR4 @ 2400mhz : $35

LGA 1200 Mobo : $80

420w PSU : $43

Case : $41

DVD Drive (the one advertised has one) : $17

Total : $425

You could likely shop around and get better prices for same, or better quality for same price. Bear in mind that HP get their components at wholesale price too.

The A55 has variable hardware which means sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It most commonly comes with the Phison S11 or SMI SM2258XT, both of which are DRAM-less. In the past it came with the Phison S10 which does have DRAM, although it's a second-rate controller. This change has happened in competing drives like the Inland SATA SSD for example.

Check the Amazon product page for it, looking at consumer images. This review shows CDI with the drive having firmware SBFM61.2 which is notably for the DRAM-less Phison S11. This review image shows Q0616B0 which comes on the DRAM-less SM2258XT, which is obvious based on the result (e.g. low 4K). Etc.

I would upgrade to a RX 570 only 10 dollars more and will perform much better. https://www.amazon.com/PowerColor-570-AXRX-4GBD5-3DHD-OC/dp/B06ZYRRW9T

I don't recommend skimping on the power supply but that's way overkill even if you bump up your graphics card up to a RX 570. This is the one I use and it runs a RTX 2070 Super just fine. https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Bronze-Certified-Modular-CP-9020103-NA/dp/B01B72W1VA

I would use the money you would save from that for a ssd for the operating system. https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-Performance-Internal-SP256GBSS3A55S25/dp/B075RJS55D?ref_=ast_bbp_dp&th=1&psc=1
