The c24g1 is a great monitor, 1080p 144hz, they go for around $180, but rn they are hard to come by so i did find a sceptre . And a 5700XT S H R E D S 1080p and gets you in the door of 1440p. But if you want fps, get at least a 1080p 144 hz

I am looking at your build with him now and he has replaced most of his parts with your parts. His one concern is about the storage, because he had a Seagate 2TB and a 500GB SSD on his build, but yours only has a 1TB SSD. He's worried that that won't be enough because his 1TB XBox is almost full.

He also wanted to know what the FPS and resolution would be for your build. The monitor he was thinking of getting is this one:

Just got this monitor and absolutely love it. When it’s in stock it’s $179 but anywhere else it’s $350 or even $450. It’s in stock right now if you can get one.

Good luck to everyone else.

Edit: Aaand it’s gone. Only took 15 minutes.

Looks great. I wouldn't get that monitor. You easily find an IPS display under $200 that is also 144Hz. Don't get a crappy TN panel. Consider this monitor by Scepter which has great reviews: https://amazon.com/dp/B088VMY23M

What would be a better monitor for gaming/digital art?

AOC 24G2 or Sceptre IPS 24”

They both deliver what i’m looking for in terms of size, resolution, refresh rate, panel, and price. Is there any performance/feature differences i’m missing? (stand quality isn’t a factor, i’ll be using a monitor mount)

Unless you really need the good stand I'd save up 20-30 more and get an ips panel. Going from TN to IPS was a pretty decent upgrade and I regret not just paying the premium the first time.

Edit: $30 gets you 165hz and ips https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-FreeSync-DisplayPort-Speakers-E248B-FPT168/dp/B088VMY23M/

$5 gets you VA (better colors than TN and better blacks than IPS, but potentially some ghosting on dark colors) https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-Edge-Less-FreeSync-DisplayPort-C248B-144RN/dp/B07MTMCNLX/

honestly if you could swing this, this ips sceptre is really good. I personally have it, gsync on my 3080 on it works great, and the colors are very vibrant compared to my older acer 144 hz monitor. it also can go up to 165 hz! https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-FreeSync-DisplayPort-Speakers-E248B-FPT168/dp/B088VMY23M

Just snag something like this, comes in both 24 and 27inch sizes.

I have the 165Hz version of that monitor. (ACER XV240Y) and the response time in response time isn't great. The colors however are excellent. The worst thing about those 24'' 144Hz-165Hz IPS monitors from ACER is the pixel inversion issues.

Get the AOC 24G2. It has a much better response time.

If you're in the US and can't find the 24G2, try this one https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-FreeSync-DisplayPort-Speakers-E248B-FPT168/dp/B088VMY23M/ref=sr_1_17?dchild=1&keywords=sceptre+165hz+ips&qid=1597750909&sr=8-17 and return it if the response time isn't good enough. I haven't tried this sceptre, but it seems to be decent according to reviews.

I got tired of waiting for these to go back in stock last week so I pulled the trigger on a Sceptre E255B-1658A when I saw that it was going for the same price and the monitor has up to 165hz refresh rate (TN panel). They have a IPS version thats .5 inch smaller that's still in stock but the shipping date may vary: https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-FreeSync-DisplayPort-Speakers-E248B-FPT168/dp/B088VMY23M/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=sceptre&qid=1595378242&s=electronics&sr=1-10

I am looking to purchase some new monitors for a dual setup. Specifically 24 inch that will be used for Console gaming ( PS4, Switch and Xbox One with headset so i dont care about speakers) and for work ( word processing, presentations, IT work, etc).

My current monitor that I use is an Acer SB220Q bi 21.5 Inches Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS Ultra-Thin Zero Frame Monitor (HDMI & VGA port),Black

Best overall monitor under $250

Hello there Reddit! I'm looking for a sub $250 monitor to purchase for a dual setup, with my only pre-requisites being atleast 23", 144Hz, and good color accuracy/pixel response time. I love IPS panels, but also don't know if they're up to standard as far as refresh times.

In my search, I was heavily discouraged from obtaining curved monitors at that price range, seeing as I may notice visual artifacts from natural light hitting my screen, etc. I'm wondering if this is true?

Some of the options i'm looking at right now would be the AOC 27" IPS panel from the G2 series,

https://www.amazon.com/AOC-27G2-Frameless-Adjustable-Guarantee/dp/B07WSK5W7V

as well as the Spectre E248B

https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-FreeSync-DisplayPort-Speakers-E248B-FPT168/dp/B088VMY23M/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=spectre%2Bmonitor&qid=1600298691&sr=8-8&th=1

Thank you very much!

Hi! So for the monitor and keyboard here's some recommendations. If you want a budget 144hz monitor, the best I could find on amazon was the Sceptre IPS 24"" (I'll link it below). Its $177 (144hz are pretty expensive, sorry), and has hdmi ports, 1ms refresh rate, and 144hz, thus its very good for gaming. (its also 5/5 stars on amazon). Now, for the keyboard I would recommend the SteelSeries Apex M750. Its 4.5/5 stars, and its pretty thin, light, and small. It has quiet and linear keycaps, and backlit keys for $85. However, if you want something cheaper and even smaller, I would get the Reddragon K552, for only $42. Its thing and small, the only issue with this keyboard is it's quite loud because of the blue keycaps, and the rgb is very limited to red and white, but that's because of the low price. Hope this helps!

PCPartPicker Part List

Type|Item|Price :----|:----|:---- CPU | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor | $204.99 @ Amazon Motherboard | MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard | $114.99 @ Walmart Memory | Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory | $62.95 @ Amazon Storage | Team T-Force VULCAN 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive | $36.99 @ Amazon Storage | Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive | $44.99 @ Adorama Video Card | Asus GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB DUAL OC Video Card | $499.00 Case | Cooler Master MasterBox MB510L ATX Mid Tower Case | $54.98 @ Newegg Power Supply | SeaSonic S12III 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply | $64.99 @ Best Buy | Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts | | Total | $1083.88 | Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-09-28 22:47 EDT-0400 |
