Why not get a proper 1440p ultra wide? Amazon has them for pretty cheap. Trust me the 1440p is really the way to go, you won't be able to go back to a normal 1080p once you use one.

Heyo!, I use usually the bottom ones, my main monitor is the right one and both of them are Sceptre 35 inch 1440p C355W-3440UN , I really recommend those but they're only 100hz, but hey they look amazing for the games I play.

I’m probably going to pull the trigger on the Sceptre C355W-3440UN this week.
35” curved, 1440p, 100hz, VA panel, VESA compatible, good price of $379.
Well received in the Amazon reviews, and there are also reviews on YouTube for it.

The Sceptre C355W is a good alternative. 35" 3440 x 1440 100Hz VA panel within budget.

Do you play Multiplayer FPS games and only MP FPS games?
16:9
Do you want a monitor for productivity, single player games, watching movies without black bars, better colors etc
21:9
Are you only going to have ONE monitor?

I specifically chose this Sceptre 1440P UW MSRP $380
Over the AOC because I'm not gaming it on and it accomplishes literally everything I wanted from an UW; And since it's positioned above my main monitor with a very slight tilt down viewing angles were very important for me.

Hey I'm looking for a monitor mount I can attach to my desk and monitor. Are there any good mounts to attach to this ? https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-C355W-3440UN-Super-Curved-Ultrawide/dp/B0812DKDD9/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=sceptre+35+inch+ultrawide+monitor&qid=1599589055&sprefix=sceptre+35&sr=8-3

And for brand new I couldn’t pass it up. July 16th can’t come soon enough.

I have this monitor right now and it is absolutely amazing. Do you know where you heard that this monitor could be set to 1440P? This is a 1080P monitor so I doubt you can just change the resolution like that since the display only supports a 1080P resolution. There is a higher-up model at $379.99 which is 35 inches at 1440P 100 hz so are you mixing up these two? Other than that the 200 HZ and 1080P display quality is amazing for the price.

Sceptre C355W-3440UN is it any good?
It seems to have a great price and fairly decent specs, except of course its a VA Panel and from a company that seems sketchy and a majority of individuals have never heard of.
I can't shell out 750$+ for an ultrawide so what are your thoughts on this monitor and if you have used it, is it any good?
1 points • Luda_Chris_
What's your budget? If at all possible, I would go for an ultrawide. It is so nice to have a datasheet pinned on one side of the monitor with my CAD software on the other side with no visibility issues at all. Another thing: if it is larger than 27 inches, make sure it has a resolution greater than 1080p because at that size, 1080p will look terrible stretched across such a large space.
My current monitor is the Spectre C355w-3440un. It's a curved 35 inch gaming monitor with a resolution of 3440×1440p and a refresh rate of 100Hz. I find that it is the ultimate combination of size, resolution, and refresh rate for the price. Unfortunately it only supports AMD Freesync however. It is also a little pricey at $375 USD, but there's also nothing else on the market with these specs below $800, so imho I think it's a steal.
Here's the link (Don't pay more than $375, wait till its restocked every Monday and Wednesday):
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0812DKDD9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_cf7bFbPRB85W0
It also comes with a stand, but if you can I would recommend getting this arm as well ($60):
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X48X4KM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_io7bFb497J1JP
P.S. I am an incoming junior mechanical engineer and this fits pretty well inside a regular sized dorm. Its friggin awesome.

Hi /r/monitors good morning!
I’m looking at ultrawide 1440p monitors, and I’ve read that the Nixeus EDG 34 is pretty solid, but I’m wondering how it stacks up against the sceptre c355w which comes in at nearly $200 cheaper.
I have a Sceptre c305b-200UN which is the 1080p version, and it’s served me well and to be frank, sceptre’s customer support is unmatched.
Is it worth the +$200 price difference for the nixeus?
1 points • Acquire16
I didn't notice any issues with ghosting or blurring on that display. Also, I was incorrect in saying it was the cheapest example of that panel, it's the cheapest one with nvidia g-sync. There is a much cheaper one that appears to be the same panel (or a variation of it) that doesn't support nvidia g-sync (free sync is supported) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0812DKDD9

For the ones that couldn't get this monitor, I got the Sceptre 35" Ultrawide 1440p 100hz for $379 and so far so good, obviously there's 44hz less and this one is 4ms but I'm pretty happy with it so far. I don't play competitive games on it or anything like that so I don't care much about the 1ms and 144hz.

I ordered this at first: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0812DKDD9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but then this came into stock: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZB2TNZZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
so I'm going to return the Spectre and keep the AOC one.

haha who knows, definitely not gonna be gaming with my mac. Just coding / surfing web / youtube maybe the occasional netflix. I'm gonna ask around about this sceptre brand...this link is a 1440p 35" ultrawide for $379. Seems too good to be true.

Budget: $300-400
Prospective Resolution (3840x2160, etc.): 2560 x 1080 (not really sure)
Size (27 inches, etc.): at least ~32 inches
Aspect Ratio (16:9, etc.): ## : 21:9? I want to be able to play games and have that "immersive" feeling
Adaptive Sync (GSync, FreeSync, or None): not sure?
Other Features (list other relevant features here):
(Optional) Usage Type (gaming, art, etc.): mostly gaming and web browsing. No first person shooters, mainly WoW and some other older games like D3.
I am looking for an ultrawide monitor for my desktop. I have a i5 gtx 970 combo that I built about 5 years ago. The only thing that I currently play is WoW and possibly some diablo 3 thrown in. I plan on upgrading in the next year-ish, when graphics cards start being in stock consistently.
I'd like an ultrawide monitor that I can play WoW and possibly other games down the line in 21:9(?). I was looking at some of the more budget friendly 32-34" monitors on Amazon and was wondering if they would fit what I was looking for? Specifically monitors from brands like sceptre, AOC, Viotek. Are any of these worth buying? WoW is an old game, would my 970 struggle while trying to output to this higher resolution? I'd like something that will look good while not breaking the bank. Something that would still look good when I upgrade eventually. Do I need to worry about hz if I am not playing any FPSs?

Yeah the top monitor is mounted I used this stand for the Ultrawide and the regular monitor. I had to go freestanding because of the fact that I have a glass desk so no clamps.
The monitor up top: [HP 25x] (https://store.hp.com/CanadaStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=3WL50AA&opt=ABA&sel=MTO&lang=en-CA)
The monitor to the left I honestly can't remember what it is. Just some 1080p 75hz dell I picked up for like $100 when I first got my pc.
And finally the ultrawide that I got.
It's kind of a motley crew but I'm absolutely loving it so far.
1 points • Swing_Right
I'm looking for the exact same thing right now, I've never owned an ultrawide either.
I'm looking for a monitor with the following:
-
34 inch
-
120-144hz
-
3400x1440
-
VA panel for better contrast ratio
-
300-500ish USD
-
G-sync certified if possible, otherwise Freesync
I've heard that HDR is hit or miss on monitors in my price range so I've given up making it a priority.
I've been researching myself insane and gotten pretty overwhelmed too, I'm going to drop some links to the monitors that meet my expectations to help myself narrow it down, maybe it will be helpful to you as well.
Monoprice - Dark Matter 34inch - Checks all my boxes but has negative reviews about dead pixels and ghosting. 1500r curve. Mostly positive reviews in general. $100 off on Monoprice for now, but out of stock.
Nixeus - EDG 34inch - More expensive (not on sale), similar negative reviews to the Dark Matter. Mostly positive reviews. 1500r curve.
Sceptre - 34inch Only 100hz maximum, surprisingly cheap at $380. 1800r curve instead of 1500r like the previous two.
Acer - Nitro 34inch - $500 VA panel with 1500r curve and 144hz. This seems to check all my boxes as well but I haven't read any reviews about quality yet.
AOC - 34inch - I just discovered this one as well. It has nearly 12k reviews on Amazon but it nearly out of my price range at $577.
1 points • reddit_mike
You do have a couple of options for that panel not from samsung at a somewhat lower price depending on your location, Monoprice has one, there's also the AOC and both are relatively similar in specs that said availability can be a bit of a pita. If going for productivity as well a 38in might also be something to check out albeit also super pricey so maybe out of budget but the LG38GN950 is also often cross-shipped with the 49ers. For a budget and considering your work might also be nice to just go for a 34in instead and have your 2 current monitors in vertical for things like terminals. A good deal right now on the Acer Predator X34 at costco for $700 if in the US. The other 34 recomendations would be the LG34GN850 on the higher budget end or going ultra budget with a Sceptre and maybe getting a couple other monitors as upgrades on the sides. Quite a few choices there, I would say if going for samsung give it a sec and splurge on a G9 when that's done coming out especially if you're already shelling out $1600 anyways. That price difference is too low to go for a last gen imo, at least wait for a bigger price drop.

I setup my working table with a 35" ultrawide monitor in a desk stand. It's centered, but if I needed I could have left it to one side and include another screen on the side of it (not 35", I suppose).
My table is the the Ovraryd Table Top with legs from Lowe's (Adils table legs were out of stock) and Huanuo monitor stand:
