Pan and Tilt Error: "Please format the microSD card immediately"
Is anyone else seeing the error "Please format the microSD card immediately" on their Pan and Tilt or other Eufy cameras? I'm getting this error a few times a day.
When I get this error, it looks like the camera is rebooting (it lights up and spins around), but there's no actual issue with the recording (i.e. it still continuously records). I've tried reformatting the card, but the issue persists.
I'm using a SanDisk 128GB High Endurance Video MicroSDXC Card.

Look into a better storage medium. It’s actually the best to use a microSD card with a USB adapter. They can handle the extensive writes better

Flash memory wears out after lots of writes, so your flash drive is probably dead. A lot of people suggest using a cheap SSD instead as they last longer, although I think an even better option would be a high endurance micro SD card meant for dash cams. They're cheaper than SSDs and intended to be written to constantly so they'll last a lot longer than a standard flash drive. You'd just need a micro SD to USB adapter.
Edit: like this one

Instead of buying a touchscreen protector I just never removed the plastic cover that came with the touchscreen when I bought the car, so far its held up and served its purpose. I also bought a sandisk high endurance memory card that is designed for surveillance cameras as it's designed to withstand extreme heat and cold and a USB plug to put the card in. https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Endurance-microSDXC-Adapter-Monitoring/dp/B07NY23WBG/ref=pd_lpo_147_img_0/145-4806200-3850712?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07NY23WBG&pd_rd_r=0b578396-488a-4104-9d1a-6989dedee3a2&pd_rd_w=YBmI4&pd_rd_wg=WfE3P&pf_rd_p=7b36d496-f366-4631-94d3-61b87b52511b&pf_rd_r=Q29PT8886CQ4EVGEM96B&psc=1&refRID=Q29PT8886CQ4EVGEM96B If your phone supports wireless charging it's great to buy that as well. Running the USB cables are a bit of a hassle and if you have a big phone it's a bit of a pain to plug in. Wireless charging is so much easier.

Make sure you get a good endurance model that is suitable for dash cams.

The only one you should really be using is this High Endurance micro SD and a micro SD to USB reader. https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Endurance-microSDXC-Adapter-Monitoring/dp/B07NY23WBG/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2EB1CL9G79QGV&dchild=1&keywords=micro+sd+dash+cam&qid=1590782786&sprefix=micro+sd+dash%2Caps%2C206&sr=8-3
It is specifically designed for constant writing. Standard USB sticks, SSDs, or HDD are not really designed for the writing demands a dash cam needs.

Thank you so much! Would this SD card be a good choice then? If so, is there a certain GB I should go for? And should I purchase the card reader bundle instead of just the card?

As others said, dashcams don't write SD cards like computers write hard disks. Dashcams overwrite old files completely with new files, that destroys the old video info. You can get a good, and much larger, card for pretty cheap off Amazon now. This is being sold by Samsung on Amazon, so no risk of getting a counterfeit, and it's a good price:

These are what I run, they've lasted 5 years so far and still going strong.

The Switch tops out at ~100mb/s transfer speeds so anything over that is technically overkill.
So for a price to performance ratio, then yes.
However there are Performance based micro SD cards that offer minimum write and read speeds, but of course they run a premium.

If you know how to connect a phone charger, than you can connect a dashcam, it uses the same thing.
I recommend this one: https://www.amazon.com/VIOFO-A119-1600P-Camera-Logger/dp/B07SRQH4R7
It has a super capacitor so it can withstand high heats and cold temps and whenever you get in a car crash or turn off your car, it safely saves the files (which most dashcams cant do if they dont have supercapacitors), it is highly rated as well for having good picture quality. Highly recommend it.
If you wanna get a bit more protected, I highly recommend this one: https://www.amazon.com/VIOFO-Buffered-G-Sensor-Detection-Recording/dp/B07RXQJ148/
Also recommend you buy this sd card or anything that says "Endurance"
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Endurance-microSDXC-Adapter-Monitoring/dp/B07NY23WBG
DO NOT CHEAP OUT on these micro SD Cards

I went with one recommended on r/Dashcam. The A119 V3 was reasonably priced and met all of my needs. I highly recommend getting the version with the additional polarizing lens. It made a HUGE difference in my video quality during the glare of the afternoon commute. Also, I picked up this SD card ro minimize overriding.

Your best bet is to get a High Endurance microSD, like this:

For durability questions...
Consider using a "high endurance" SD card. Example: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NY23WBG
Make sure you have a backup of your SD card contents. Back up any saves or important stuff you save to the SD every once in a while.
For performance...
I think the main thoughts for Wii is that the SD card port may be limited to USB 1.1 speeds and the USB ports can run at USB 2.0 speeds. Someone may need to fact check me here. If true, loading your Wii content from SD would be slower compared to USB. I'm not sure how this compares to optical drive load speed though.
If you're looking just to use an SD card for your games, you could use a USB to SD card adapter in your USB port -- that is what I currently do. It doesn't take up as much room as a 2.5" mechanical disk velcro'd to the Wii. If you can find one, a low profile microsd card to USB works well. I couldn't find what I want on amazon and ended up ordering a couple from the BitBuilt store as I was looking at their content for making a Wii portable. The benefit of doing this is that I can write to my microsd at \~80MB/s on my PC and then it can read on the console at USB2 speed (\~31MB/s max).

you want a high endurance card made specifically for continuous video recording. the card you linked is not that. if you're set on sandisk, you'll want this one. another highly recommended card on this sub is the samsung pro.

Works perfect. These micro sd cards are meant for constant dash cam recoding.
And you can use the spare SD card slot for music!

Operating temp refers to when the camera will work, not whether it is dangerous for the cam. So by the time you turn on your car and warm it up and get driving, it will likely be within the operating temp. Also, the real killer for Li-On is heat.
I would recommend a capacitor cam as they tend to last longer. And they are not even that expensive.. Just be sure to get a high endurance SD card as those tend to last longer and are better suited for the read/write cycles of a cam.

Just realized this reply didn’t go to our original discussion.
A) do you want the rear cam to be rear window or rear interior (they call it like a taxi cam)?
B) Do you want GPS on the camera that tells you speed and/or location coordinates?
$90 sale; no gps or parking mode, 1080p rear
$130 sale; parking mode, no gps, 720p rear
$160; Parking mode and GPS, 1080p rear (this is the model I have)
All of these have cigarette lighter plugs to power them, but if you wanted hidden wiring or use parking mode, then it is like $20 for the wiring kit and plugs into your fuse box

Build: midnight silver metallic, Gemini wheels, LR AWD, tow package, black interior, Vin 36xxx (has the amber taillights], 15 miles on the odometer at pickup. Ordered July 30 was ready for pickup Sept 2.
Issues: 1 paint chip on A pillar, windshield is misaligned, Gemini wheel covers squeak terribly (seems to be common, can only hear with the windows down going low speed), whistling noise at highway speeds, loud low frequency rumble with AC on that is annoying (anyone else get this?), purple passenger door! (kind of like the color though), few trim pieces with gaps, grease stain on headliner, small tear on side of rear seat driver side, driver door takes more effort to close than others and makes a “pop” sound when opening. I scheduled mobile service to take a look at these.
Accessories: I ordered these ahead of time so were ready to go when I got the car home, everything from amazon, overall very happy with how it all fits and looks. Matte screen protector (Carwiner $25, looks like you can get it for $18 right now), matte black hard-shell console covers (BougeRV $33, currently $26), center console storage tray (JKCOVER $15), Armrest hidden storage (TAPTES $17), performance style foot pedals (Etopmia $12), MicroSD for Sentry/Dashcam (SanDisk 128GB High Endurance Video $25 + MobileMate USB 3.0 reader $12), Bench seat cover with zip down center (Vailge $30), back seat protector kick mats (Lusso Gear $16), car seats are Graco SlimFit 3 in 1, a tight fit to sit in between but does allows center to come down with cupholders folded in ($158 each), waterproof blanket to protect trunk space when transporting things such as bikes, home depot supplies etc. (Bessport Camping Blanket $30), tire repair kit (Orion Motor Tech 77piece $20), also not installed yet XPEL 6” x 84” roll of PPF, planning to cut strips for rear bumper lip and door edges ($23), Optimum No Rinse for wash and Ethos Ceramic Wax PRO for finish, looks great, bug guts wipe right off.

I think I am ready to dip my feet into the water! I plan to order a dev kit ASAP.
I plan to get:
- 4G Dev kit
- barrel-style power supply (5V/4A)
- 128G microSD (is this a good choice?)
- 8MP Camera (is this a good choice?)
I have a USB Wifi device already I hope will work.
Initially I plan to start with the Hello AI world project to begin object recognition. Have I missed any essential parts for that?
Thanks!
Craig

No he tendido ningún problema.

It is designed to run dash cams. My fear of using a straight SSD is that in general, they are not made for continuous writes. SSDs do actually have a limited number of times they can be written to. Now does that mean a regular SSD will die due to continuous writes in 1 year? 5 years? 20 years? The micro SD will have the same problem I think though too. I suspect the using one of the SSDs on here would also work great, just putting another option out there. :)
