1TB Rocket nvme = $119.98

2tb QLC nvme = $199.99

1tb GEN4 nvme $159.98

looks like the gen4 drive is the real deal of the bunch

a bunch of other sabrent nvme have sizable clip coupons... so if you are after a different capacity... you should check it for a deal.

Only thing I would change is the SSD to the sabrent nvme 2tb https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LGF54XR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_N-keFbTZG6Y28

I think you'll get better performance and I remember reading the 660p slows down as you load more data into it, something I don't think you'll run into as much with the sabrent

That hard drive is old, read/write is only 500ish. Get https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LGF54XR/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_IE.ZEbRX61E6J

Or similar. Over 3000MB/s read/write

I second the Asus tuf x570 and faster ram.

GPU is overkill for only 1080p, especially with DLSS 2.0 becoming a thing.

Any reason you went with the Samsung 2.5" SSD instead of an NVMe SSD? A Sabrent Rocket is $10 cheaper, has faster read/write speeds, and it mounts directly to the motherboard, so no SATA cable and no finding a place to mount the drive.

Hard drives are sooooo 1980. What you need is an NVME drive. There's an m.2 slot on the motherboard right above your video card, just slot it in and put in 1 screw to hold it down. This is 30x fasterthan an old fashioned platter/spindle hard drive.

r/buildapc • comment
1 points • smee665

Spend the extra money and get an M.2 NVMe. It's WAY faster than any 2.5" SSD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LGF54XR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_1RMhFbN3ZQTY4

The only thing I would suggest you change is to change your SSD for an NVME unit, this one from Sabrent is far faster (like more than 30%) than a 960 evo at pretty much the same price.

Sabrent 1TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 Internal SSD High Performance Solid State Drive (SB-ROCKET-1TB) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LGF54XR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_zjoDEbW35T9Y8 this was my first m.2 but in 256gb version and I loved it. It was speedy fast and never caused me any issues. For $150 this is one I would recommend

I have used both in the past, my current m.2 is linked at the end of my comment . Not sure what you use PC for exactly but you most likely would get the exact same experience using either one. Here is another one that I'd recommend.

3600 should easily be able to handle 1080 and recording, but you should check out something like the Sabrent rocket because your hdd might have a hard time keeping up if you save the videos rather than stream

If you have a 4.0 mobo the 4.0 rocket gets up to 5000read/4400write while the EVO only get 3500read/2500write. The sabrant rocker 3.0 with be cheaper than both with speeds comparable to the EVO.

See here. ( speeds of up to 3500r/3000w)

Again I bought it because it was on sale but it's not exactly a budget ssd and it's probably overkill for me. Your probably better off using /r/buildapcsales ssd filter and reading comments on 1tb $100 drives. again you'll probably never notice a difference between a budget NVMe and a mid/hight-tier ssd when it's used as a gaming drive.

It's a TLC (which will be more reliable and last longer) 3450 MB/s (read) and 3000 MB/s (write) VS QLC 3200 MB/s (read) and 2000 MB/s (write).

This is the SSD I bought.

This is the Sintech adapter I bought.

Read/Write went from 637/512 from the stock Apple SSD to 1228/1251 on the Sabrent.

Opinions solely mine:

  • Great CPU. Great GPU

  • There's no real reason for you to spend $200 on 1TB of storage. I have no doubts the Sabrent Rocket PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive is great. You have no need for it while gaming. Hell if I were you I'd grab a 500GB SATA SSD and a 2 TB HDD for $100 for my storage. If you'd prefer an NVMe I'd recommend the Sabrent Rocket 3 or Western Digital SN550. No need to spend $200 on 1TB of storage.

  • Faster RAM. I like this G. Skill Ripjaws kit personally

  • You don't really need an x570 board. A good B450 is sufficient and anywhere from $85 to $100 less.

  • Some good cases are Phanteks P300A, Fractal Design Meshify C, NZXT 510

Consider swapping the drive for a 1TB Sabrent Rocket NVMe drive. Cheaper, more performance, no cables.

850W is overkill. 650W would be enough. Maybe this instead?

250gb is 100$ and 500gb is 90$? either way, I don't think both options are worth it.

100$ is around 1tb of budget ssd storage. be it better tlc on sata or qlc on nvme.

if you want faster, both the regular sabrent rocket with 1tb or this one costs 120-130$, are almost as fast as the samsung drives and you get way more storage space for the price

I would get an NVMe SSD over the Samsung SATA SSD and WD HDD combo, something like a1 TB Sabrent Rocket. Since you're going with an X570 build, you could even go for the faster PCIe Gen. 4 version if you have the budget.

Besides that, everything else looks solid.

I'd ditch the PNY and Samsung SATA ssd's and grab a 1tb Nvme that is WAY faster than both and has more storage than both put together.

The ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB and the Sabrent Rocket 1TB are good choices for the money.

The Silicon Power A80 1TB NVME is a good choice too if you want to spend a little less.

Yeah, I splurged on an i7 processor. It was the only upgrade I got, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth the money. Almost 5ghz boost clock was the reason I decided to just get it. It’s faster than my desktop. Lol It does not void the warranty. They have documentation with pictures on how to replace everything on their website.

If you want to clone the current SSD, then Samsung EVO 970 SSDs are generally recommend since their Magic cloning software is considered to be foolproof.

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-970-EVO-250GB-MZ-V7E250BW/dp/B07C8Y31G1?th=1

However, the laptop is new I would simply install a clean copy of Windows 10. Back in 2018 I purchased a couple of Sabrent Rocket SSDs for my laptops. It is nearly as fast as the Samsung, but less expensive. You will not be able to tell the difference unless the sole purpose of the laptop is to run SSD benchmarks. Note that there is a known issue when attempting to clone to Sabrent SSDs (at least the one linked below)... The cloned Windows 10 will simply not boot up. Otherwise, there are absolutely no issues with installing a clean copy of Windows 10 or just using them as data drives.
