I'm in a similar situation but heres an alternate to tape if you're interested, tripod mounts with clamps. Relatively cheap solution (there are other types out there too) and they fit and replace the standard mounts. I've been using them for 2 years attached to contractor's poles with no issues.

I would very much recommend getting the light houses mounted on the wall or using this Support System. I found the tripods wobble the tiniest bit as you walk around and if you are sensitive this can be really nauseating. The supports I linked don't leave any marks and are much more stable. Plus they give you a little extra room compared to the tripods.

Edit: You will need these to mount the base stations on the support beams if you use them Clamps.

A multi-cell light with decent mass and cooling surface is really essential for area lighting IMO if you ever need it. It's all I really use my Q8 for but it does a damn good job of it and comes in handy much more than I ever would have predicted.

That tripod screw hole (using a tripod or a clamp like this ) and/or diffuser cap has turned it into the best cordless work lights I've ever used.

It's a Small rig Ballhead clamp. Should be strong enough to hold a dslr/mirrorless also!

Most used: Smallrig Mount

Clamps on to places where a tripod wouldn't and has helped with a lot of time lapse shots

Well my thought is basically using the clamp that comes with the mount would be difficult wouldn't be as tight because of the separation caused by the black bar. I used one of these clamps to mount a light on my desk and it's not that sturdy/really easy to take off the desk even if I tighten it as much as I can.

It is! The Zoom has a standard camera tripod mount hole on the back. It’s 1/4 inch with (not certain) 20 thread count. And since this clamp is technically for camera stuff, it has the bolt built in.

I fly a K-21. There haha a ball mount over my right shoulder. I use this smallRig mount for that ball mount. I don’t like attaching anything to the canopy including suction cups because I don’t want to damage or wear the glass.

A simple setup:

A grip arm for your light stand, and a clamp mount to hang the camera.

Just make sure your light stand is beefy enough to hold the camera weight.

If not invest in a proper C-stand and sand bags.

You can, use a couple cargo bars like these. (mount them top down, so the ratcheting part ratchets down.)

And mount the base stations with some camera mounts like these.

if you want something super secure, i've had a lot of luck and success with smallrig's ball head clamp or their double ball clamp.

they are very well built and will secure the base stations to anything it can fit in its mouth :)

oh, if you see the things that looks like squeeze clips with a ball head that are a bit cheaper, try to avoid those. while they work in a lot of cases, the screw clamps are far more robust and flexible.

Wyze - Cheap, stupid easy and local storage with microSD card so no need to upload and/or pay for cloud service. Homedepot in store had the version with SD cards for $18 about a week or so ago on clearance. Picked up a couple more but they had tons of them so may be worth a shot.

Wyze works with camera mounts as well so easy to mount to your tent pulls via something similar to below.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJ5XH4O/

I'll probably be the first to admit though, I'm not a fan of the resolution in the app. Wish it was a bit better but really hard to complain for $18-$25. I can still read my temp and humidity display and that was one of the main reasons I bought it so it does work as intended.

clamp

monitor mount this lowkey got a bit more expensive than I remember but it’s cool for me. I can move the clamp up and down whether I’m doing 35mm 120 or 4x5 scans

I’m renting and the walls are plaster and plaster-on-brick in my VR room, so instead of mounting, I got a couple of these support rods and they work great: Task Tools T74500 63 - 120 Inch... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CRDD6Y?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Not the prettiest things to look at, but they do the trick and take up very little floorspace as opposed to tripod stands. You’ll also need some adjustable clamps to mount the base stations: SMALLRIG Cool Ballhead Arm Super... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DJ5XH4O?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

You're missing the point of an H5. It's not supposed to go in a bag. The idea behind using an H5 is that it's light enough to mount directly to the boom pole with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJ5XH4O

Or you can use a wearable mount like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036NMQ7S/

Yes, traditional workflow using a sound bag is probably better in general, and the F4 is much better for that, but if they're only booming one mic at a time, the H5, ergonomically speaking, is fine mounted to the boom pole.

With regards to blimps and windmuffs, I'm not sure the savings are worth it, especially since the blimps usually come with removal shock mounts, and you still need to buy the shock mount if you're going to DIY the blimp. Once you add up the shock mount, materials and labor, I don't think you'd save much compared to a Movo blimp or one of its clones.

Id avoid ring lights and go for a panel light, assuming you can afford to spend a bit of extra money.

Panel lights offer softer light, which is less harsh on your eyes due to their design.

You lose that circle in your eyes and get a square, but its worth it for streamers imo.

You need a mount for this model, of which you have several options.

This one mounts typically on a rounded monitor stand.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DJ5XH4O/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_nDgQEbHM6WQMQ

You can add a gooseneck to that if it's too short for your needs

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KGHCSN5/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_fFgQEbC3NMPXV

Or you can mount to the wall

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000IDCDZY/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_IHgQEbBAC2769

Then there is the light stand from the floor

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074VMTP68/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_jJgQEbE26ZM4K

If it has a 1/4 - 20, it's compatible with most lighting gear actually. And cameras. And tripods. Mix and match to your needs.

Do you already have a digital camera? Off the top of my head, some good lenses for the task are the Micro Nikkor 55mm f2.8 (you'll need extension tubes with this one), Micro Nikkor 60mm AF-D, Sigma Art 70mm, 7Artisans 60mm macro (some issues with chromatic aberration, but that can be corrected), Fuji 80mm Macro.

As for light sources/holders, the Skier Copy Box is probably the easiest and most affordable solution. Otherwise you can look into buying film holders and a light source separately. The Kaiser Slimlite Plano is a good light, but it's dim (much dimmer than the Skier) so you'll be using slow shutter speeds. Negative Supply just announced some light sources too. Some are affordable and some are laughably expensive. The important thing about your light source (for LEDs at least) is that it has a high CRI and R9 rating. TLCI is another rating rating to look for but not as common. The higher the better, but don't think you absolutely need 99 or anything.

You could probably get by with using an inverted tripod, but a copy stand would be best. The downside is they can be expensive. Smith-Victor makes relatively affordable ones. I've also seen people buy steel pipe from a hardware store and mount it to a board with this style connector, then use a clamp like this to secure the camera. Skier also makes a cheapish copy stand.

For processing your negatives afterwards, I like Negative Lab Pro. There's also ColorPerfect, the CNMY tool, Analogue Toolbox for Capture One, RawTherapee (which I've been told is updating its film conversion module at some point), or just simply playing with RGB curves.

If you have Facebook, search for the Digitizing film with a digital camera group. There's a wealth of knowledge and experimentation there (which I've tried to condense).

Digital Camcorder Setup

eBay Camcorder: $55 ebay camcorder

Noticed the Camera doesn't come with charger so: $13

Though there's a $10 cable if you happen to have a usb power brick from an old cell phone.

HDMI adapter: $11

Mount: $13

Alternate Clamp Mount: $13

You're looking at $79ish for this setup. Plus $7 if you're unlucky and don't get a micro-hdmi to hdmi cable with your camcorder purchase. Still sub $100

Edit: added the ac adapter.

Still sub $100 with the ac adapter. Though admittedly barely.
