Oh you may have already heard the solution to that. It's like a travel router or something that can take your signal and turn it into more signals so you can connect more than one thing to it. Like 15 or $20 for the device. Here's one some of the guys said they were using I'm not really checked it out too much yet. I guess it's okay to copy and paste items, if not sorry moderators https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P5QDQ1B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_JurvFb9966MC6

Would I be able to use this travel router instead since it comes with built in battery, sd card slot, usb port, ethernet port. I should eliminate the need for the router and power supply hence making it even m ore portable, thoughts? https://www.amazon.com/RAVPower-FileHub-Wireless-Portable-Transfer/dp/B07P5QDQ1B

give this a look:

It charges your phone, and has the ability to be a media station for you to use with a MicroSD card slot. I have an older one from about 7 years ago, and it works like a gem. I put movies on a MicroSD card, insert it into the device, and can stream movies to my phone or ipad from the device perfectly. Also, my wife can play a different movie off the same device. Some do up to 5 different streaming files at once. So if you need more than just a battery, try this product or something similar.

P.S. I looked up that Kingston MobileLite, and while I could find some used on eBay, this product looks a lot better, is not discontinued, and also serves as a wireless dual-band router and powerbank: https://www.amazon.com/RAVPower-FileHub-Wireless-Portable-Transfer/dp/B07P5QDQ1B/

I use this RAVpower portable filehub I got off amazon. I can connect the SSD I use for sentry cam while still sitting in the car and use the app designed for it to view and manage the video files.

So I do the same thing but mostly with Capture Pilot (assuming you’re shooting into capture). Ive using a AirPort Extreme plugged into a battery for years, just because they seem to work best with iPads but recently I got a RAVPower File Hub and it’s been working pretty good. What router do you use? I’m always looking to test new things

I use the Ravpower Filehub RP-WD009. It’s a bit of a trick making that work for this. You connect the computer to the Filehub through its Ethernet connection, but the Filehub Ethernet port is meant as an uplink channel to a cable router or other source of internet. So after it’s connected you have to go to your WiFi connection settings in Windows and share that internet connection with your Ethernet adapter. Then, you can connect the Quest to the Filehub and it’s all good.

Look into something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P5QDQ1B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_YVOqFb21WPDJF

I've only used mine on occasion to transfer from the sd card to a portable ssd when I'm travelling. I've seen a few similar versions, but it's usually cheaper than buying a hard drive with transfer capability. I will warn you though, the first time I tried to set it up it didn't quite want to work well. Iirc the wifi setup was dodgy, and it requires a phone connection so you have more control and can browse the files on each connected drive.

It's not AA, but these little wifi router/flash storage combos work great for that. I use mine on planes when we travel.

The one I have acts as a DLNA server--all you need to do is connect to the network it creates. No internet necessary.

I was considering something similar.

It's larger, but that means it works when you don't have a power source, and also works as a portable battery. Along with the various built in media readers I'd rarely use. If it had fold out AC prongs and a USB-C port I would probably already have one.

I used to have one from RAVPower for my travels, but don't bring it anymore as I can just hotspot with my Surface Pro. I have not tested it out with Stadia/CCU, so don't know if the performance is good. I like it as it has a 6000mAh battery that I can use to charge my phone while on the plane. The battery last about 3-4hrs if it's not plugged in and wireless is turned on.

You can use a hub with SD card and USB ports. There is also an external wireless FileHub that supports the same -

I've used both methods (I have the FileHub).

Something like this

https://www.amazon.com/RAVPower-FileHub-Wireless-Portable-Transfer/dp/B07P5QDQ1B

Or I think even a regular ASUS WIFI router would let you join a WIFI network and not bridge the two networks, but hide your new SSID behind a single connection to the schools WIFI. All your computers and devices would hidden behind a single MAC and IP address VIA NAT on the router.

I'm using this RAVPower Filehub to act as 5GHz router even without the internet.

Both the Quest 2 and phone were connected to the 5GHz network created by this Filehub.

It works well for the movies DLNA from my phone/computer but hasn't tried for the VD.

Ravpower have them https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P5QDQ1B/

But by the time you buy one you are spending about as much as you would on one of the gl.inet's plus a lowend anker battery with the drawback that once the battery goes the unit is a heavier than it should be.

RAVPower has some good and inexpensive ones. This guy acts as a file/media server as well.

I haven't used this particular TP-Link but I have a friend who loves it. It does seem simpler to set up than the RAVPower.

I have an older TP-Link wifi repeater that's been rock-solid for years, and a newer model that was four times as expensive that's always been a bit flaky. I'm not sure I can conclude anything from that. Generally, I've had great results with TP-Link.

Fewer and fewer hotels are placing LAN port's in guest rooms right now -- that'd be your first issue.

I've used a HooToo travel router , but these https://www.amazon.com/RAVPower-FileHub-Wireless-Portable-Transfer/dp/B07P5QDQ1B/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=hootoo+travel+router&qid=1579540385&s=electronics&sr=1-4 are getting the best reviews right now.

In theory you could do wifi bridge mode once you connect with the first device.

Since we're a Meraki shop, we could also probably figure something out with the Z1/Z3 routers.

You're welcome :D

I'm not the one to ask about how the Anker one I linked compares to any others - I have a few portable Anker speakers, I quite like all of the stuff I have from them, the speakers included, but those are the only external bluetooth speakers I've had. Their price vs quality tends to be quite good. A battery / bluetooth speaker set / case / MP3 player with bluetooth / wifi connectivity / etc, setup would be pretty easy to arrange.

I highly recommend their battery banks - I have this one and a few others, all are quite good, and very worthwhile carrying along an extra device for. You could always go the route of separate battery / phone / speaker, and grab a carrying case large enough for all of them. You're likely to get better battery capacity overall that way. The battery I linked has 2x the capacity of the Echo external battery, give or take a bit - and there are some with 4x and up.

My own portable setup consists of my phone, a couple ginormous anker batteries, misc cables / chargers, one of several anker bluetooth speakers, an aux cable, and a few other odds and ends. It would be fairly easy to get, say, an old ipod touch if you don't want to use your phone for connectivity for some reason - all held in this bag - it works quite well, and is convenient enough, even if its not all in one unit. Also, this is a fun little toy to play around with, and doubles as a battery bank / wifi repeater / bridge, etc.

I've got a nice, cheap simple way to do what you want, but it may not be as secure as you need.

For several years there have been steadily improving versions of what is basically a battery powered router. You simply plug your hard drive into the router and anyone connecting via wifi to the router then has access to the drive. You then stream whatever you want.

here is an example on amazon ($50) -

https://www.amazon.com/RAVPower-FileHub-Wireless-Portable-Transfer/dp/B07P5QDQ1B/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=wifi+media+server&qid=1589789870&sr=8-1

The one in the amazon link is a RAVPower FileHub. I have used the older version of it and another brand. They all work well. Here are the important details -

1) You need to be physically close to the router, the wifi signal is not especially powerful

2) When I was using these a few years ago, they didn't support every video format for streaming on every device - the main problem here was apple products (the may of been fixed by now)

3) There is usually a limit of 3 or 5 connections max at a time

4) In most cases, these routers operate as a DLNA Server, which has been around for a long time and is built into windows, and is widely supported across most devices.

here is some info on DLNA -

https://www.lifewire.com/what-is-dlna-1847363

Security - I believe you can assign a password and visible/invisible SSID to this thing like any router, but I can't vouch for what protocols they are using. The other thing is that because it's range is very limited, the signal isn't going to get far.

These are funny little niche devices that a lot of people have never heard of, but are great for what they do.

Hope that helps you.
