The only thing I can think of is a usbc hub like this from Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QXMNF1X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ldbhFbX7RJZKZ

I do not have experience with one of these for controller + charging, but I think it may be the only option.

You're arguing things you don't understand in most of this thread and it almost makes me not want to help you.

The tube has a USB type-c port that at the moment you're using as a simple power delivery system. That doesn't mean that's all it's capable of. Get something like this. You attach a power supply to this and it'll pass power to the tube and also provide you with additional USB ports that the tube will recognize.

One hitch is you might need a stronger power block since you'll need to be powering the web cam and the tube.

Spent some time with it, finally got it working. Played through a couple rounds of Wii bowling with no issue on my tv with this adapter and the Mayflash Dolphin Bar, using Galaxy S10+

An adapter like this would do the trick since it has charging pass through.

Ah I see. I'm not 100% familiar with the specs required but think maybe this or something similar could do the trick https://www.amazon.com/QGeeM-Delivery-Compatible-Thunderbolt-Chromebook/dp/B07QXMNF1X/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=usb+c+hub+power+delivery&qid=1593035086&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyTjBDQkxVT0RRVE8mZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA3MjIwNzMzNlRQSjU0MFdJUVdMJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA0Nzc1ODUyNDhMQVdFUVlVVzlZJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfcGhvbmVfc2VhcmNoX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

but I don't want to recommend this system to you. If you want to connect a keyboard and mouse, it makes more sense to get a type c converter. this kind of products do more. You cannot charge your tablet if you use a type c converter and usb hub.

for example this product

I used this to connect an external drive and output video to a TV, so it could probably do the external SSD and the pi.

I think for charging, you also have to plug in the device you want to charge after plugging one end into the iPad. In other words, the order in which you plug in the devices dictates which device tries to charge the other. It tells the iPad which device you are trying to charge.

Also, are you sure the iPad can feed the pi the requisite amperage and voltage? It’s possible your raspberry pi needs more power than the iPad will output. I know that when I got a Raspberry Pi 3B to install RetroPie on, I had to make sure the charger I got met specific requirements.

I used the 1byone hub for over a year and it mostly worked -- I had many problems with my monitor being flakey often, requiring me to unplug and re-plug it in. I never had problems with MacOS with it though.

I decided to try out a new dock due to the above issue and due to it getting really really hot (which concerns me even more since I'm re-thinking cable management for my desk). I have https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QXMNF1X/ arriving on Saturday, so we'll see.

EDIT: I should have searched the reviews. Seems some people are having issues with the dock I purchased for video out at resolutions higher than 1080p. Guess we'll see. Sounds like the Aukey hub may work better for people?

I have a USB c hub going to a teksmart 4 unit kvm switcher via USB and hdmi cables. From there the kvm connects to a wired USB keyboard, wireless mouse and 4k 43 inch TV as a monitor.

The hub: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QXMNF1X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_bweK9Lw73P3hL

Generic cables otherwise.

You can get a USB-C hub with Power Delivery (first result on Amazon, obviously do more research than I did) that you can plug your charger into - maybe one of your hubs already does that actually.

Some hubs also support 3.5mm audio output, though I personally wouldn't do it because the onboard audio output on your Dell is probably better than those. You could do Bluetooth headphones though.

You might be able to get something with 2x HDMI or 2x HDMI 1x DisplayPort or something, though it might cost you because this would involve splitting up the signal (which is a separate adapter in itself). Also might not work for high-res displays.

This is crazy because one of my biggest complaints about laptops nowadays is a lack of ports. I guess people really are happy to just buy some hubs nowadays.

I just searched USB hub on amazon, I dont know if you have a marketplace you prefer. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QXMNF1X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_wqFdEbJ0ZKHC5

It would work but you can get a lot cheaper. I'd get a cheaper Thunderbolt 3/USB-C dock/hub like this and if you wanted to connect to a high resolution or high refresh rate monitor you can get a Thunderbolt 3 to DisplayPort cable for around $15, as you have 2 USB-C ports on the X1C7.

If you wanted just to connect peripherals and connect to an external monitor capped at 60hz, the hub I mentioned will suffice.

Looking to play games on my tv via my tablet Galaxy 5Se + PS4 Controller

Would this work? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QXMNF1X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Currently playing CoD:mobile, Grim Valor, Republique, KOTOR, Life is Strange 1+2, Sky. Few other games too, but they dont use controller: AFKArena, BattleNight, Among Us, Night of the full moon, Ascension, Hitman sniper, chronicles of crime.

Looking for a good racing game, RPG, and any other suggestions for games. My only requirement is that it supports controller usage.

Help I purchased a hub. HDMI not working

I purchased a hub from Amazon. It's type C so I had to use a C to A adapter for my older work laptop. Everything coming from the hub seems to be fine with the exception of the hdmi. The monitor is showing no signal. Any ideas?

I really like Microsoft's remote desktop app. It lets me watch all my paid TV channels at home, on the road by using the HD HomeRun, in addition to running PC programs under DeX. Have you tried using a regular keyboard plugged into a USB-C hub & the phone, in order to see if it helps? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QXMNF1X/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A3TG6UNCSJC2TF&psc=1

And this:

Neither would function without pd, which I don't currently have.
