I picked up the Phanteks Eclipse P300A for $60 last week, plus $40 for 3 140mm fans. Would this be a better case at the same price with its 3 included fans?

The Phanteks P300A would be a great choice: it comes with a fan, and has great airflow.

no worries, this one seems good for a lower price.Phanteks Eclipse P300A

At the same price, the Fractal Design Focus G is a no brainer.

I would also recommend checking out the Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh. It is an excellent case for $10 more.

I wouldn't stress until you know you have a problem. Or, you could order a cheap (but decent) case on Amazon like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-Eclipse-PH-EC300ATG_BK01-full-metal-Mid-tower/dp/B083LYL7V5 as a backup and return it if your 500dx comes.

How does this case's airflow compare to the Phanteks Eclipse?

I would go for the p300a over that case if I were you

If you can expand your budget by just 10 dollars, this is an excellent case.. You'll be hard pressed to find another case that performs as well thermally, which is very important.

Im all set for kb/m and that build looks perfect for me and right in my price range, my only question is if this case would work? I already ordered it earlier.

probably marginally better (unless you are looking at the mesh version), but not good, look at this case:

I'm gonna be real with you. These mods would cost more than just getting a good modern case. It'll be loads better than anything you can turn this in to.

I believe this would work, however there will only be a difference in temperatures which you can negate by buying more fans

This is way better and at 60 bucks. It's black, but performance over look. If you want a white one, here is the better one for 90 bucks.

First up: the CPU. The 3600xt is kind of a bad value when compared with the 3700x, and especially the new 5600x. If you can find one, go for the 5600x. If you don't want to wait for one to become available, I would recommend switching to Intel and getting a 10600k, as it outperforms the Ryzen 3000 chips in its price bracket (for gaming).

Next up: the motherboard. The PRO-VDH WIFI is an excellent board and is compatible with Ryzen 5000 series chips, but you will need to perform a BIOS update to enable that compatibility. Since it has BIOS flashback, you won't need an already compatible CPU to update the BIOS, so no issues there. Unfortunately, I have no experience with Intel motherboards, so if you go that route, I recommend doing plenty of research before pulling the trigger.

Memory: No issues here, though you can find faster memory for less money if you look around. Ryzen CPUs love fast RAM. Intel doesn't seem to care as much.

Storage: 100% fine

Graphics card: Even in Canadabucks, that's a pretty terrible price for a 2070 super. Demand for graphics cards is really high right now, so finding a new one at a good price is pretty difficult. I wouldn't recommended an inexperienced PC builder to go used, but you can get good deals if you're careful. Make sure to message the seller and have them send you a video of the card working in their system, and then in the same shot, show the serial number sticker on the back of the card. If they refuse, or the sticker is damaged or missing, pass them up.

If you do settle on a Ryzen system, you may want to wait for the new AMD Radeon 6000 series cards to hit the market. Again: they'll be hard to get right at launch, but if you're persistent enough, the RX 6800 (non-XT) looks to be an excellent value for money card.

The case: The Micro ATX motherboard you have picked out will definitely fit an ATX mid tower, but you can save space, (and money) by getting a micro ATX tower. The H510 also has pretty terrible airflow characteristics, meaning any system you put in it will run a bit hotter (and potentially louder). The Phanteks Eclipse P300a is an excellent budget airflow option with a fully mesh front panel, Though I recommend also picking up two 140mm case fans for front intake. (I know the P300a is technically a mid tower, but it is very small)

Power supply: these are still in short supply right now, but you absolutely shouldn't try to skimp here. I don't have any experience with Corsair power supplies, so I can't really make any recommendations on this one.

Operating system: skip paying full price for this and download the windows 10 media creation tool from Microsoft to get windows 10 for free. If you want to activate it later, you can buy a key for as little as a few dollars from sites like ebay. Again, be careful here. Don't use any sites that only accept credit cards as payment options, and do some research on the site beforehand.

One final note, While the 3700x and the 5600x both come with stock CPU coolers, the 10600k does not. If you opt for the 3700x, the included wraith prism cooler is more than fine if you picked a case with decent airflow. If you opt for the 5600x or the 10600k however, you should pick up a solid tower style air cooler, but make sure it will fit in the case that you end up choosing. The Hyper 212 from Cooler Master is a popular and time tested cooler that will fit a variety of cases, including the Phanteks case I mentioned earlier.

Oh buddy I don't know. I was on this project months ago but I haven't been in this headspace in months.

The emergency situation of fucking everything being out of stock has somewhat passed since I made this post. Since then, a lot of "first-choice" picks like the Phanteks P300A have come back in stock.

  • how tight is your budget

  • what sytem are you going to put in it

  • what country are you in

  • Why did you ask about the DeepCool in particular

Check this video.

NB. My case is under my desk, and airflow cooling/temperature performance is my priority (other than build quality and price). If your case will be on display as an aesthetic piece you may have different priorities to me, especially if you are trying to work with lighting/RGB etc. a la r/battlestations. I am a minimalist, and on a budget, and would prefer my money go into other components (GPU/CPU/etc.) rather than lighting.

If you search reddit, YouTube, and google, I'm sure you can find the difference between these two cases before long. If nothing else, the V3 is in stock on Amazon, the other is not.

Last helpful note: get the www.keepa.com extension/plugin. It will show you the historical price of items on Amazon, and you can set alerts for when things come back in stock/go on sale/etc.

When you said a case that wasn't as deep, it reminded me of this review. Here's the P300A.

Maybe that's what you're looking for?

https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-Eclipse-PH-EC300ATG_BK01-full-metal-Mid-tower/dp/B083LYL7V5 this is one of the best airflow cases but it looks like it only comes with 1 fan, you should still at least have one fan as the intake and one exhaust. Don't think the 1650 super runs too hot but because its a 1 fan GPU I would want a little more airflow in the case

I wouldn’t recommend spending the bareminimum for a case. I’ve always bought the cheapo cases in the past and they’ve been miserable to build in. Spend maybe $20 more and you’ll get much better build quality and a better build experience. Of course this is all depending on the brand you buy from but here’s are some places you can start at! I’m personally a fan of the 1st one and the last 2.
