Vertical stand for X220/T450s
My son has been using my computer but I notice him slouching too much when he does his homework because he likes to use the low coffee table.
Did anyone buy one of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K24ZR57
or something similar with a slant like this (so he can still use the keyboard) https://www.amazon.com/Nulaxy-Ergonomic-Aluminum-Detachable-Compatible/dp/B07P54RSPY
I wanted to raise the screen as much as possible so vertical one looks best in my opinion, especially since Thinkpads open flat completely. I was going to grab him a wireless keyboard as well.

you dont have to get this one exactly, but I have a stand that's similar to this design, and I've had it for about 10 years now and love it.

Sure, I use currently use the same stand for my laptops as well. They work great for compact synths, mixers, etc.

Cheers. I've been meaning to check out the Pajen firmware, haven't gone about doing that yet.
My Digitakt is the brain of my setup and honestly couldn't recommend it more, I'd definitely argue for saving up for one. I still use the Sample's inbox sequencer since the step functions (Mute, Step Jump, Active Step) are great for live tweaking.
In terms of stands I got this one linked by another user, might suit your needs.

Ok yea that's good to go then. Could possibly find a laptop stand that would elevate it and put it closer to you so you're not so far/dont have to lean in. And it would look better because right now it looks tiny back there!
Possibly something like this? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P54RSPY/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_F2ZMEbPGEX7Z9

Got this bad boy from Amazon. Works fine and the screen isn't exposed to the heat. Btw this is a really solid build stand, didn't expect this quality. Can recommend anytime.

Looks like this one. If it’s not I do have this one and it’s crazy solid.

Alright here is my suggestion. Since you are saving up for a computer you probably don't have much left iso I am going to assume you want to do something about it now. 1st Clear up the Desk completely remove everything then clean the desk it's obvious you will do this but it doesn't hurt mentioning. 2nd Move your monitor to the left hand side of the setup and have it wall mounted the pull your desk alittle bit towards your and away from that wall to Creta some good depth and allow you place you mouse and keyboard properly on the desk. Then get a laptop satnd like this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P54RSPY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_ZfohEb3DJXMTF From Amazon and have it to the right of you while facing the monitor once it's mounted to the left wall. This will allow you to have easy quick acces to the cables and make them easier to manage. Add the RGB strip on the bac for some cool glow and place the phone stand to the far left of the setup. Buy at least a large mouse pad to place your mouse and keyboard on. With that you will be good to go

I found it on amazon for $30. Its really nice and has cable management holes in the back and non-slip feet. https://www.amazon.com/Nulaxy-Ergonomic-Aluminum-Detachable-Compatible/dp/B07P54RSPY/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=nulaxy+laptop+stand&qid=1589749331&s=electronics&sr=1-3

I bought the Logitech K380 on Wirecutter's recommendation, and I really like it. The circular keys took a minute to get used to, but it's not really a big deal. I also like that it's small and lightweight, since eventually I'll be able to take my iPad and the keyboard out to like a coffee shop or wherever instead of lugging my laptop.
ETA - I also got the Logitech M705 mouse since trackpads are awful for everyday work, as well as this laptop stand.

hmmm it depends on your budget and what you need. essentiality on laptop desks are optional since you can play wherever you want. unless you'd prefer a good/better workspace. for sure cooling pad is essential but i think the raider does a decent job. an extended mousepad but these things are dependable on an users taste/preference. this company makes protective covers for keyboards. but you'd have to read reviews. i own two for a helios 300 and nitro 5 and their alright (low expectations). i'd use an external monitor and mount both. i use a different arm mount. but this would look nice on your table if you're willing to make a hole on it. it also looks too nice to do that. i personally wouldnt do it. again it depends on the user and play style. alternatively a laptop stand would also be nice and saves some space.
if we're talking peripherals. i'd get a nice extended mouse pad & something like this (headset stand+ mouse bungee) unless you're planning on a wireless mouse. it would be useless but nice enough for your headset and table. since i see you're a redragon user their new 60% is one of the best in the budget space. kumara are tkl but cheaper and has decent reviews and they also offer a keyboard and mouse combo.

i dont know sorry im not much of use lol

These two things will work wonders for your setup.
- Single arm monitor stand: (about $30-$40): https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Articulating-STAND-V001M/dp/B00YJEQ83G/ref=sr_1_15?dchild=1&keywords=single+monitor+arm&qid=1588972689&sr=8-15
- Laptop stand ($30): https://www.amazon.com/Nulaxy-Ergonomic-Aluminum-Detachable-Compatible/dp/B07P54RSPY/ref=sxin_9_sk-bs-2-na_6bdc8b9e06697ae8739f6e5eaa1134bab5737dd4?crid=1GD41SGZK6UMN&cv_ct_cx=laptop+stand&dchild=1&keywords=laptop+stand&pd_rd_i=B07P54RSPY&pd_rd_r=33bdc082-124e-4bbd-a8fb-b41c52b51096&pd_rd_w=8MwOx&pd_rd_wg=xVBIV&pf_rd_p=6fc2b407-fcbd-4a7f-be01-3234b1e9afce&pf_rd_r=76JE2B55F0VATAHN0WNR&qid=1588972742&sprefix=laptop+%2Caps%2C292&sr=1-2-ef6ec057-d556-4fd0-bed3-084ae9cc889f
These two things will clear up some desk space. Put the monitor in the middle, laptop to the right and the tablet next to your keyboard or to the left of the monitor.
Desk lamp will help with lighting. There are many options. For mine I just went with this: https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/forsa-work-lamp-black-80146777/
Hope this gives you a starting point.
EDIT: That biochemistry book made me cry. I still have it in my office (good read). Enjoy!

I can answer this in both ways. From the standpoint of your initial original question. But also a different point of view.
We use Zoom all the time at work and here's what I'd recommend to make it a pleasant experience for everyone in the Zoom meeting. First, level the camera so that it's at eye-level. You won't even think about it but how level the eye is plays a huge key in how presentable you seem. If you have the camera far, far above your head then your eyes are looking up at the camera. If you have the camera below you, it's unflattering and your eyes are looking down at the person. So if your main camera is from your laptop, I'd recommend buying this which makes your eye level with the camera. This makes it look like you're talking directly with the person. If you watch every Zoom video setup that's the first thing they recommend, have your eyes level with the camera. If you're using a webcam, use something like this which makes your eye level with the camera.
The second thing I'd recommend is to have a professional background setup that not only looks presentable but also gives you good acoustics. You may think, I'm just a director and it doesn't matter. Or I'm just a coworker, it doesn't matter. But it really does. So I'd spend the extra time to do this. Here's what I'd recommend.
Buy 1 to 3 of these depending on your budget
They're super easy to set up. Easy to setup. Easy to disassemble.
Then layer those with these depending on your budget
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XQ24STR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you just have 1 of each, it provides a nice background behind you. However, if you have 1 on the left, right and back, it actually provides decent sound treatment so that your sound isn't going to reverberate and be unpleasant to everyone on the Zoom call.
If anything, don't have your bed in the background. I think it looks really bad when coworkers have beds in their Zoom videos. Either record somewhere else or use the setup to cover everything around you.
Finally, I'd recommend having good lighting for your camera, so something like this. These allow to set up 7 different lighting setups and 5 different tones so you can adjust the lighting to it looks best for your camera and setup. It's far cheaper than what people are recommending on Youtube imo.

You don't need to Zoom or show your face to do casting/direction for your project. You can just have a Discord server and create a voicechat. Or have a Skype session and have a voice chat. More often than not, actors feel the same way too. Some actors don't want to show themselves too. And that's fine. You don't need a camera to get your lines. So on voicechat, tell the voiceactor on their DAW to record and to submit the lines to you after the session.
