Yes.
Novus is the best. It’s the only one anyone in my local club uses.

You can try a scratch remover for glasses. Like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Novus-7100-Plastic-Polish-Kit/dp/B002UCYRZU/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=glasses+scratch+remover&qid=1606781679&sprefix=glasses+sc&sr=8-3

You have two options:
-
Try to polish it out with Megs PlastX or dedicated plastic polish like this https://www.amazon.com/Novus-7100-Plastic-Polish-Kit/dp/B002UCYRZU/
-
Treat it as headlight restoration ie clean it and coat with any headlight coating products like the wipes, 2k ckear etc.

Too abrasive and caustic, try this

Well on the bright side...
Thanks for the tutorial on how to convert a clear optic to floody.
I've used Novus 7100 Plastic Polish Kit to get scratches and cloudiness out of plastic (motorcycle helmet visor and work glasses) but it will only work if the damage is exterior facing.

Get this stuff: Novus 7100 Plastic Polish. It works great! I've cleaned up much nastier scratches than what you have.

A few weeks back I got my Wancher Crystal in the mail (I ordered it from Jetpens), and to my horror my crystal clear demonstrator arrived hazy and with light tool marks! I was upset, and when I realized what a pain in the ass Jetpens is about returns, I had to fix it myself.
After some research, I bought this plastic and acrylic polishing system called Novus 7100. Its a 3-part polishing system and came with simple enough directions. As it turns out, the haziness and light tool marks would only require parts 1 and 2 to take care of! I used parts 1 and 2 as directed, and it took the haziness and tool marks out like magic!
I don't know how badly your pen is damaged by the acetone, but I know for heavier scratches and discoloration the system recommends several passes with the 3rd part of the set before moving to the 2nd, and then the 1st. It worked for me, so maybe look into it to see if it might work for you! As a bonus, the kit comes with everything you need - disposable polishing cloths and the 3-part system.
I hope you get your pen friend back in working order soon!
All my best.

This is my go to for plastics and acrylics. Depending on how scratched you we’re talking, you might be ok with just 1 or 1 and 2. 3 is the heavy duty stuff.

So auto parts stores sell plastic scratch remover and it "works" in a way. But this stuff is hands down the best
https://www.amazon.com/Novus-7100-Plastic-Polish-Kit/dp/B002UCYRZU/
I'm into reef aquariums and we use that to buff out scratches on plastic tanks. It works wonders on all plastics. Should clean those right out

This is what I use to polish scratches out of discs. This stuff works really well. Good luck! https://www.amazon.com/Novus-7100-Plastic-Polish-Kit/dp/B002UCYRZU

Novus makes plastic polish and cleaners. This kit has the course grit for heavy scratches, the fine grit for lighter scratches and polishing, and a plexiglass/acrylic safe cleaner. And it's only $21.
I've used it dozens of times with good results. It won't, however, do much for scratches deeper than a half millimeter or so. It should help this a lot, and it's great to have around for the future.

plastic polish should do the trick on the shell
there's many alternatives for plastic polish products but here's a great one on this linky

If they're not too deep, something like this might work.

If it's scuffed up it might be worth it just to buff it out with scratch remover compound like this.

This works wonders. https://www.amazon.com/Novus-7100-Plastic-Polish-Kit/dp/B002UCYRZU I used it commercially on lexan and plexi for years.

Ive heard a lot of people in the aquarium community use this on their acrylic tanks. That said, I have no idea if it will work for you, but there are a lot of plastic scratch removal tutorials on youtube using stuff like toothpaste and brasso. ultimately its your call on how you want to handle this, and ymmv.

This stuff is amazing! I used it when my brand new front loading washer got scratched. It was like it never happened.

I've used novus plastic polish to remove _light_ scratches from plastic surfaces. I use a DA polisher or drill with a 3" orange pad and polish the surface for 5 minutes. I start with the lightest polish grade and move up if necessary. If you have to use novus 3, you'll need to then polish with novus 2

There are no cracks. It's just a more prominent scratch.
I do have this kit I bough a while ago, but I can't seem to find the cloths:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002UCYRZU/
I do have some regular old "lint-free" cloth pieces. Can I use those or are those too abrasive?

I had great results with a dremel polishing tip and novus 7100 plastic polish kit (3 stages). My 20 year old wayfarers look brand new.

I've heard erasers work pretty good for removing small scratches. Other than that, Petroleyum Jelly would be the first thing to try, I think. There's a video of it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUFd1ojhHhA
And another one here with tootpaste and petroleyum jelly being used one after the other
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iD0QvQyhGSA
CNET has a list here:
https://www.cnet.com/pictures/diy-scratched-screen-repair-magic-and-myths/
They say car headlight repair kits helped a bit, which makes sense as headlights need to be clear and are plastic. They also suggested magic eraser (which is a sponge with some form of cleaner in it). They didn't think petroleyum jelly worked.
I've also heard good things about the Novus Plastic Polishing Kit. The comments say not to use the scratch remover stuff specifically (as it's basically liquid sandpaper) but the clean and shine might help.
https://www.amazon.com/NOVUS-7100-Plastic-Polish-Kit/dp/B002UCYRZU/
Here's people suggesting using the #2 polish though, so, maybe it'd be ok?

If I was really desperate, I'd maybe also look into using some Matte Varnish, like Lahmeian Medium from Citadel. It's basically paint without any pigment, and dries clear. In theory, you could brush a tiny bit on where the scratches are, they'd fill up the scratches and be clear. But I haven't heard of anyone doing this.
