I was toying with the idea of using something like these.
Then the gear can be where I want it, with minimal effort...

Oh, well then my first response is still applicable. The monitor arms are pretty flexible. Maybe go for two separate articulating arms stands. Like these

It says 30 but it holds my 38 like a charm, look more ate the weight limitations. Also fairly cheap

Really easy to pry off the stupid looking brand decal. Mine is going strong after a year, but I'd be careful about maxing out that weight rating. Doesn't come with USB stuff, just has cutouts for cables.
They go on sale for $20, I'm waiting on that to pick up another 1 or 2.

I have three of these. They are far from the best, but the price is right. They don’t go up really high, but a few blocks of wood get them where they need to be and they go low.

Still figuring out the camera mount (and light mount). I would just use a small rig clamp, but I think it would eventually damage the monitors. Thinking I will probably attach the monitor to a board and the board to the mount.

This should be what you're looking for.

If the 27 inch monitor is too small for the FOV you want, finding a way to mount it closer to your face is probably the cheapest option for you. I don't know your setup but one of those movable monitor stands can help get the monitor closer if your wheel is in the way. I have my wheel clamped to a desk and this is my issue right now.

I have this exact monitor and use this arm for it.

I had an arm on the monitor I had prior to purchasing this one and it did not fit on since the mounting points are recessed into the back. Make sure the bracket you're using is squared. Here is the link to the one I had so you can see what I'm talking about, the corner corners aren't squared so it won't fit. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AI2YGK4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_qXatFbRAJYAPD

is what you are trying to eliminate that monitor-pulled-too-far-from-the-back-like-i'm-at-a-dining-room-table situation? I used to have one of those clamp on monitor arms kinda like this but cheaper and crappier (damn the nice ones are pricey!) but it made keeping my display where i needed it easy while keeping the desk clear for w/e so it felt like i had a large work area not wasted by a monitor splat in the middle.

I use a pair of these and have been really happy with them: https://www.amazon.com/North-Bayou-Monitor-Computer-14-3lbs/dp/B01AI2YGK4/
EDIT: I should add, it does not come with thumbscrews, and I'd HIGHLY recommend buying some. The included screws are regular phillips head screws and it's very hard to use a screwdriver while trying to maneuver your monitor into position on the arm. M4x10mm is the correct size for more desktop VESA mounts

I have most of the same questions. I was looking at the Zenith 30" T frame, with a 60" x 30" laminate top. I will only be mounting 2 x 21" monitors with two of these: https://www.amazon.com/North-Bayou-Monitor-Computer-14-3lbs/dp/B01AI2YGK4.

It's an extremely common design that is slightly differentiated and marked by various different companies.

The laptop is the Razer Blade 14 2017 (Core i7 7700HQ with GTX 1060 6GB). The monitor is a Samsung C24F390. Just a general-purpose monitor with 1080p at 60hz. The stand could be found in this link.

I've got the clamp mounts holding 3 monitors to my desk. There's a few things you'll want to check first:
- Make sure you have VESA mounts on the back of your monitor. They mounting holes will be described by the spacing between them (75x75, 100x100).
- Make sure the back of your desk has space to mount the clamps. Some desks have a rear panel that doesn't provide enough room for the clamp to grip the surface.
Once you've check the above, you can use mounts that are more for a static setup or mounts that use gas/spring pressure articulating arms that can be moved for constant adjustment:
- Static setup monitor mounts use a pole from which a monitor mount is attached (like this). These allow for some adjustment (like monitor rotation), but generally you set the monitor and forget it. There are some that have long arms so the monitor is offset from the desk mount, but same idea. These mounts can hold from 1 to multiple monitors - just depends on which you get. I have these and since I don't move my monitors much, they're fine for me.
- Adjustable monitor stands have articulating arms that allow you to move the monitor around (like this). Gas or spring pressure keep the monitors in place after you move them without needing to tighten/loosen stuff, so these might come in handy if you are constantly rotating your monitors or have a desk that can go from sitting to standing - where you then want the monitor adjusted to a certain position. Generally, these are more expensive.

Honestly OP is isn’t that difficult for you.
Buy this:

This will remove the base of the monitor and free up space.

The same things at half the price. We use these at work, with a few that are over 5 years old, now. They might jump a little bit with a typical home floor, from running or something nearby, but they are not wobbly in the least (they are all mounted to 1" or thicker MDF desks, though, and a weak desk will be an issue with any arm mount).
I cannot vouch for any model, but if you are against a wall, you might do well with articulated wall mounts, instead of desktop mounts. Try to get one bolt in a stud, and then use togglers on the other side.

I use a North Bayou that I got off of amazon, they are like pretty cheap and work really well. There is an adjustment screw that you may need to turn to adjust for the weight so that it does not move up or down on its own. Under $40

I personally use 2 of these - gives me more options for mounting than a fixed dual set up.

Actually I have two separate stands and the monitors are not laying on the speakers as it may look... simply the one stand is hidden behind the PC.
I've bought them locally but I think this is the one I use:

yes you are able to do that, recently posted my setup with monitors mounted that way on this sub here I would definitely recommend the North Bayou F80. Fantastic monitor arm at a great price :)

What you mean you can't find anything on Amazon?... Are you in the USA? Because there are dozens upon dozens of fully articulating mounts there.
For example Amazon Basics 25 lbs support...
NB North Bayou 20 lbs support.
Those are assuming you want full control... but if you just want it to sit there stationary then any simple desk mounted stand would do.
