I tried all the stuff out there for dandruff and then finally came across this...only need a small amount per shampooing. I was using it almost daily and now I only use it once a week or so...Nizoral Anti-dandruff

Is it this one?

I get that, this helps mine. Use it twice a week & let it sit for at least 5 minutes before rinsing. If I forget to use it for a few weeks it comes back so it’s more preventative than a cure. Safety razor will help too.

Keto as in Ketoconazole, not related to Ketogenic diets

The issue is likely a fungal growth on your scalp. I had the same issue and it took me a long to realize the problem. The shampoo in the link worked really well for me. It uses the same active ingredient as shampoo that a dermatologist will prescribe. Follow the directions on the bottle and if you see no improvement after about a month then you should see a dermatologist.

I’m really sorry that you’re struggling. This disease is a beast.
Unfortunately, I don’t have much to offer except my empathy and a shampoo recommendation. I used to have really bad dandruff, but then I started using Nizoral shampoo and it cleared up really fast. I use it about once every other week now for maintenance, and I have no complaints!

If you want Keto 2% pretty sure you have to get a prescription.
Doesn’t make much of a difference imo. You can use the Keto 1% I linked more often, so it balances out imo.
I use it once every 2 days with a good conditioner so that my scalp doesn’t dry.

Wash with nizoral twice a week and it will go away I wouldn’t wash my hair everyday with it tho as it is very very strong

I’m gonna guess you’ve got a fungal thing going on. The itching/burning without redness is a pretty common sign. I was getting similar pretty bad on the back of my head, and I used Nizoral AD which stopped most of it after the first use and I use it every couple of weeks after that.

You don’t need to brush your hair to stop it, I only wide comb mine occasionally with conditioner in the shower too.

Not sure where you’re from but as other comments have said, Nizoral definitely works! I’m in the US and I got mine from Target, but this is the same stuff I got. You can either lather it up and then rinse it off, or I’ve used it as a “face mask” on the areas I needed it and left it for a few minutes, but that method did seem to dry my skin out a bit.

I tried beard oil, conditioner, lotions.. no luck. I ordered a dandruff shampoo and after the first use use I haven’t had any dandruff on my beard or in my hair. I apply this about once every two weeks.

I would recommend using Nizoral https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-Ketoconazole-Dandruff/dp/B00AINMFAC due to the fact that it contains ketoconazole and its decently priced. Ive only been taking it for a week and I’m already starting to see improvements (hair looks more full and healthy, and thinning isn’t as noticeable). Most likely won’t outright fix your MPB, but it will probably help.

I used to use Head and Shoulders, Clear but i quit cause they weren’t doing much. After using them, my scalp would still has these flakes even though i scratch my scalp thoroughly. I’m currently using this tea tree/ laurel bay leaves shampoo. Wouldn’t say it gets rid of dandruff entirely but my scalp feels much better than before. I say you should use a natural/organic shampoo. Also try to use tea tree oil cause i heard that it helps some people with dandruff. I don’t think you should hair cream everyday. And lastly don’t wash your hair everyday. Try to minimize it if you can!

I can't recommend it yet since I just did two washes only thus far, but I bought this one that doesn't smell that bad to me (I'm pretty sensitive and yes it smells but not bad): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AINMFAC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that Automod has removed your comment because it contains an Amazon referral link, which we don't allow in the sub.
Could you please edit the URL so that everything from (and including) "tag=" is removed? Here's the tag free link for an easy copy and paste: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AINMFAC/
If you've done that, please reply to this message so I can approve your comment :)

Also, I used Nizoral A-D Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, 7 Fl. Oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_E8whEbHGFP4QM
And this is my cheap go to option, as it has 1% Keto, which blocks DHT

Hello there!
I’m a few months in & seeing great results. Here’s some general tips for you to keep in mind/try out as needed:
1.) If you notice any fin side effects (even subtle ones), purchase a pill cutter and try doing 0.5mg daily doses. 0.5mg doses provide about 90% the amount of DHT blocking as a 1mg dose (the dose effectiveness is nonlinear). I’ve noticed the side effects are pretty much nonexistent for me at the lower 0.5mg dose
2.) Get some Nizoral shampoo — you can find it on Amazon
3.) Don’t freak out if your hair starts looking worse and shedding worse than normal — this is a minoxidil shed and is completely normal. It will start to happen to you in a few weeks, assuming the minoxidil works.
You’ll go probably through a couple cycles of shedding over the first year, but it’s completely normal and a sign that you’ll get some regrowth

Try this, only thing that worked for me, even better than prescriptions: Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

try this from amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AINMFAC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
if it is dandruff, most derms will prescribe 2% but i think this is the next best thing. you have to leave the shampoo on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing it.

https://www.sezia.co/about this website is awesome I recommend checking your current products, for me one of the things that inflamed my fungal acne was shampoo so I switched Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AINMFAC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SfzSFbGV470FD for my scalp and use normal shampoo for the rest of my hair. The shampoo is also great because the active ingredient and also kills fungal acne. I use it on my face and chest as well.

If your loss isn't bad, you could start with the shampoo probably, and then the rogaine later if it doesn't help as much as you wanted.

Yeah, whatever you do, do not get it at CVS - it's almost $20 at CVS. It's much cheaper on Amazon, or if you need it today, you can go to Walmart and get it for about the price you'd get at Amazon.

Have you tried using Nizoral? That helps a lot of people clear up their fungal acne! It is technically an anti-dandruff shampoo, but you can use it as a mask in the affected area(s). You can buy it on Amazon!
The salicylic acid cleanser you use is good for regular acne, but it won’t have much of an effect for fungal acne. I’m thinking you probably do have fungal acne and that’s why your other acne cleared up but not the acne on your forehead.
Also, if you haven’t already I recommend checking out Simple Skincare Science! He has a ton of information about fungal acne and products that are “safe” to use.

Edit: also hydration! Big lifestyle change was switching a lot of soda for water.
For me it's avoiding fragrance and irritants. Personally had success with Nizoral once a week and a balm daily, I don't like oils.

This not only stopped my hair loss, I actually started to get new growth after I started using it. I tried it after my hairdresser suggested it. My scalp has never been healthier. It's the only one I use now. As fancy shampoos go, it's actually pretty cheap. One bottle lasts me 6 months.

If anti-dandruff shampoos aren’t working for you, you probably need something medicated. Get some 1% Ketoconazole shampoo off Amazon (I use this kind when my seborrheic dermatitis flares up) and a scalp scrubber off Amazon. Guarantee you it’ll clear up in a week.

Sorry for the late reply everyone but these are the links. i try to shampoo every other day and alternate the shampoo everytime i shower. So day 1: nizoral day 3: free and clear with a pinch of dead sea salt day 5 : happy cappy shampoo. day 7:repeat
try not to be rough with your hair, massage your scalp slowly. leave the shampoo on for 2-3 mins so it soaks in a little bit and then wash it out. When you get out of the shower just dab the towel on your head instead of completely shaking the towel on your head.

It sounds like malassezia, especially if you treated with Selsun Blue. There are a couple of things you can use to treat it, including more Selsun Blue. There are a bunch of items here that can both treat malessezia and not aggravate it further. That's a long post though so from items listed there, I'd suggest
I'd also check the rest of your skincare stuff and make sure none of it has ingredients that will make it worse. That post above has a huge list of skincare products that won't make it worse.
