If you play handheld, you might want to try a third-party joycon. I use the Hori split pad and it hasn't drifted yet. For contrast, I have 4 different left joycon that started drifting before I bought this. I've never heard of someone having drift with these.

They don't work wirelessly and only work in handheld mode, fyi.

It's got AFK turbo and it feels great

It's been a very nice little benefit in the game. I can set A and Y to afk turbo (where it presses it for you), walk up to a tree, leave it, and just have a stack or two of sticks. Or normal turbo (where you hold it down) for crafting recipes that have a bunch of little A presses and animations.

For those outside of the US I still recommend the SparkFox Comfort Grip. While it has some problems it's really comfortable and very cheap. it's been a godsend since there aren't many choices for grips where I live.

I would still be using it but I now I have the Hori Split Pad Pro. They're $19 more expensive than the grip OP linked to, but you're essentially getting a brand new pair of controllers instead of a simple plastic grip. They're much bigger and more comfortable than the regular joycons, but have some drawbacks like not being able to be removed from the console. If you play in handheld 99% of the time stuff like that really isn't a problem.

The Satisfye grip is what I use and it's night and day different.

There are also the Hori joycons which you may like even better as the grips don't do anything to the actual buttons. Just makes it easier to hold in your palm. I can't personally speak for the Hori but I've only seen good things about them on this sub.

If you play in handheld mode, there's the Hori Nintendo Switch Split Pad Pro. Unfortunately, they can't split apart and work off of the Nintendo Switch. Both controllers doesn't have a rumble feature, or NFC.

Oh, here ill post a link to them :) i prefer them to the normal joycons haba i have big hands. So these help. They are not wireless at all, so only handheld mode.

That's not an issue for me, if im using the dock then i play Switch with my xbox controller

You might be a little light on available games for online play, sorry to say, but Animal Crossing and Stardew are good options.

Also, she may want to consider the Split Pad Pro which has done wonders for my carpal tunnel-afflicted hands compared to the standard Joy-Cons

r/NintendoSwitch • comment

If you want a hand held version check out the Hori Split Pad Pro. They don't have rumble or gyro but it's basically like an xbox controller split in half for handheld.

I cant play with the regular joycons to save my life. Kid took my pro controller for his switch lite so now I'm looking into buying another pro controller or maybe the pro joycons like this...

You should try these DAEMON X MACHINA controllers, they work in handheld and feel like pro controllers. They're really comfy too. The only problem is that they only work attached to the console, so you can't play it docked. But since you play handheld mode mostly, this should be a suitable alternative. Plus, they don't drift.

If you play mostly handheld gaming (like me), I highly recommend investing in the Hori split pad pro controller. You lose HD rumble and it only works in handheld, but it would help prevent breakdown of joycons if you're a mostly handheld person.

I use 3 controllers.

  1. Hori Wireless

  2. Hori X Machina

  3. The Switch Pro Pad (worse of the 3 but still a great controller).

Edit: The switch version upsets me that all the triggers can't be mapped.

  1. Bluetooth headphone adapter For a console from 2017 it is pretty shitty it cant be used bluetooth speakers/headphones especially cuz the wifi card in the system is capable of bluetooth I have been using this one It also comes with an adapter that allows it to be used while docked

https://www.amazon.com/HomeSpot-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Compatible-Headphones/dp/B07L9SL7ZT

  1. Hori switch pad pro It is a really interesting accessory that makes ur switch really big but super comfortable for long sessions of gaming with it in handheld mode. If you have small hands it is not for you but if you love the switch pro controller, and want something for it when it is in handheld it is great. Full d-pad and a good sticks and programmable buttons on the back. Cons are no rumble no motion control and it can only be used when it is connected directly to the switch. It also isnt very dense so it has a little cheap feel to it. But overall changes the game.

The joy sticks are lovely, and it has programmable paddle buttons...
Sadly the down side is the price and it doesn't have any other function or control type other then the buttons, not even rumble.

Allows for a more comfortable handheld experience. If you don't want seperate controllers, they have add ons you can get like this
