Get ear plugs/ear protection for all of you. I'm sure all of your nervous systems are completely frazzled by this. Even if she won't calm down for Daddy, get the best ear plugs you can find for sleeping, and go sleep from 8p to midnight or 2a-6a, some solid block of time every day, and let her figure out that Daddy can care for her. It isn't like your presence magically makes her feel perfect- you figured out how to help as best you could, and Daddy is capable of that, too. You absolutely HAVE to find some relief. If that means you and your partner tag team or you find the least risky way to get help from someone in the community, you need to sleep.

This could be a sign of sensory processing issues for your baby- just reacting to every tiny thing in the environment. I second the recommendation for consulting a pediatric neurologist. Also see if there are any occupational therapists who work with babies.

Regardless of what you do, get that ear protection. Even when there are other stressful things you are dealing with, you will feel more rational and more empathetic when you can turn down the volume.

I second this. OP, get a cheap pack of silicone earplugs like these, mold them well enough so they complete block out sound, and wear them for a week (or even a month!). See how far you can go... I think you'll quickly realize how amazing it is to be able to hear music well, to be able to understand other your family and friends at gatherings, etc. There's a LOT you're taking for granted, and that's normal because you're still too young to fully realize it. I don't say this to be condescending with you, but you just haven't lived long enough to fully appreciate your sense of hearing.

Harming yourself to permanently lose your hearing is a very stupid idea that anyone would undoubtedly regret for the rest of their life, unless there are legitimate reasons for doing it, but I can't think of any. Just wear earplugs whenever you don't want to hear anything, and remove them when you need to hear again. Keep in mind, this will not make you any more special or interesting to other people.

I know this because I'm HoH, my hearing has diminished over the years because of exposure to loud noises when I was younger, and I can't think of anything that I want more than to be able to hear 100% again. One of the most frustrating things in my experience is that sometimes other people don't really care, and won't make an effort to better communicate with you if you can't hear them. Do you really want that?

These were a lifesaver for me:

Other things that helped: having a fan running to drown out the noise, having husband roll to his side, moving to another room when I become too agitated to fall back asleep.

That said, what helped the most was my partner improving his lifestyle and implementing a regular bedtime. He has hardly snored since we quit smoking and drinking regularly.

I currently use Bose Sleepbuds, but they’re really $$$ and I think off the market.

Try swimmer’s earplugs...they’re cheap and waxy/moldable, so you create more of a wall of silicone putty in front of your ear canal, rather than stuffing your ear canal full.

Silicone earplugs changed my life. I would always wake up in pain after an hour of wearing the foam kind but these stay in all night and I don’t notice them. They’re also better at blocking out noise.

Order Mack's Silicone Earplugs for yourself and have some delivered to your neighbor as well. Won't solve everything but at least you'll be able to sleep. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003LZQGN6/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_hhIHEbEBEM88G

NAH. Your frustration is understandable, but simultaneously your roommates are allowed to lead normal lives during the daytime.

Invest in Mack silicone ear plugs. They can block out the noise from a freight train.

I'm convinced all action camera companies just want you to film in the sun and for a few minutes at a time. It's 2020 and only the Garmin Virb Ultra 30 has a waterproof charging system (too bad it's 2 years out of date and the on/off switch fails quickly).

I feel like there's a conspiracy amongst all camera makers to not allow external charging, 3.5 mm jacks/bluetooth audio, or anything remotely motovlog friendly.

As it is, to answer your question, you can get soft silicon ear plugs the can be molded and wrapped around the plug. I've used it on every camera I own and not had a problem with water getting past it.

Water proof, snore proof

My mom is a swimmer and I thank her for introducing these to me. You don’t have I stick them deep in your ear either. Squish them out flat to cover the whole area of your ear hole.

My life is significantly better after discovering Mack's Pillow Soft Ear plugs. They're silicone balls that fit over your ear opening. You get you blissful silence without waking up with sore ears from in-ear plugs. I can usually use one set for 3-4 nights before the sticky stuff that keeps them on your ear is all gone.

Use silicone ear plugs instead of wax: https://www.amazon.com/Macks-Pillow-Soft-Silicone-Earplugs/dp/B003LZQGN6/

They are easier to put on instead of regular dental wax and you can split them up so they last longer and are "custom fit."

I’d highly recommend these moldable plugs for wearing under because they don’t stick out and hit the inside of the foam under the muffs and cause discomfort. Also good for all you side sleepers out there

I realize you don't like earplugs but in case you get stuck in a bedroom with him (on vacation or visiting someone or something like that), try swimming ear plugs like these or these silicone ones. Just trying to help in any way I can. I've used the first type around strong snorers and it helps. A friend who does sound EQ for concerts recommended them. You can buy them unconnected too, just showing the closest items to what I've used.

I used these when I went to a Metallica concert, and they’re pretty good! Every time I’ve used them, they’ve kept everything at a comfortable volume. My one gripe is having to clean out the residue after using them, but I’d say it’s a small price to pay for protecting your hearing.

I can’t recommend these earplugs enough:

Seriously I could sleep through a goddamn saturation bombing in them, it’s almost scary sometimes. I stopped using them when camping because the effectiveness seemed too dangerous.

Aside from talking to your neighbor, if you're a light sleeper, I highly suggest these earplugs. These were a life-changer for me. White noise machines don't seem to help me as much as these did.

I'd recommend silicon earplugs that you can mold to fit your ears.

Much better than the foam ones and also much easier to sleep in.

You can get them on Amazon, I don't think Honeywell sells them to consumers directly. Unfortunately you have to buy quite a few of them, they aren't super expensive I guess.

I do! nothing goes into my ear canal without causing significant pain. There are silicone earplugs you can get that you sorta just squish over the ear canal and it sticks to your outer ear. they work fine for a couple days before they stop sticking and need to be replaced. Something like this (amazon.com)

If you want a more long lasting solution, check out these (amazon.com). you make them yourself in a few minutes. the process is quite annoying as they make constant popping noises while hardening, but wait it out and you got earplugs formed to your ear that can be washed and reused many many times. I sleep with these every night.

My absolute favourite ear plugs are these foam ones ( not necessarily the brand, but the mouldable style):https://www.pharmacydirect.co.nz/SurgiPack-Hush-A-Foam-Ear-Plugs-3-Pair.html if installed properly they can block out 22 decibels.

I have also heard about silicon earplugs being very good but personally they don't fit in my ears that well. They block out around the same amount but are more resuable and more expensive. https://www.amazon.com/Macks-Pillow-Soft-Silicone-Earplugs/dp/B003LZQGN6

The best way to find out which ones are best is to just experiment! Some even have higher claims so just look around at the pharmacies.

per a recommendation. Sometimes it doesn't stick as well, but it was better than the wax (for me).
