Don’t get that one, this one is better in every way.

RTX 2070 > RTX 2060

10th Gen i7 > 9th Gen i7

512 GB NVME > 256 GB SSD

144 hz > 60 hz

Also isn’t a DELL

Now if you require 17”, then the 17” model is $100 more.

GP Leopard with full 2070 for $1500. Definitely a better choice than the 2060 version at nearly the same price.

This is what I went with, haven't gotten it yet though. If you want to future proof for gaming the GPU is the most important thing, this is the only RTX 2070 that I know of currently in your price range.

I agree with the other comment this is a great option it offers great specs for a good price, I saw in your comment that you don't care about battery life because you don't expect a gaming laptop to have good battery life, but it is 2020 if you want good battery, lightweight gaming laptop you can get one, but it will cost you more, let me know if you are interested in that and I will make a recommendation.

MSI GP65 I believe this is the one he's talking about, it does come with a full 2070 which sounds great but i'm not sure about the noisy fans. I know the fans will be loud on a gaming laptop but the bottom is a open mesh and apparently you can hear the fans more.

Worth noting the 15" MSI GP65 Leopard can now be found for under $1500 (well, right at 1500 at 1499). With taxes it may push it up over the 1500 mark, not sure if that is what has it in the 1500-2000 category.

Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085B3BPKG/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_znwqFbTZP5ZZ7

The 17" 240hz model with the rtx 2070 and is $1599, same link but selecting the 17" option. I don't think the 17" option is reference in the options on the original post, but it may be a bit much to reference all variations of all models :)

If u want an all-rounder, the rp-15 is great and u can better-configure it to reach ur budget if u want

I was considering the GP65, this one specifically. I'm just trying to dig a bit to see about the display in the GL65. The GL65 with an older processor had a different display that was apparently pretty bad. The specs for the in the op seem similar to the GP65 I posted which is supposed to be great. I dunno.

Is this better than the g65 leopard 10sfk though cause I was planning on buying that https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Leopard-10SFK-047-Gaming-i7-10750H/dp/B085B3BPKG

Agreed with this guy, if you can wait for the 10th gen availability in end of July, it would be worth maximizing that 1.5k budget.

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Leopard-10SFK-047-Gaming-i7-10750H/dp/B085B3BPKG

However if you need a laptop now, an Acer Predator Helios 300 (i7-9750H, GTX 1660 ti, 144hz screen) would be more than enough already to suit your needs.it would be around under $1.2k.

Cheers!

I've heard a lot of good things about MSI. I would look into them. A somewhat budget friendly option could be the GP65 Leopard

If you want to go thin and line, their stealth line is pretty well regarded - GS75 Stealth. There's a bit cheaper models with the 2060 instead of the 2070 if you want to go cheaper.

something like this is a console alternative, given how you don't need to pay 60$/year for online and how cheaper the pc games are, in just 2 years your ps5 will cost you more than this, and this is portable 144hz machine

Yeah that will be a solid choice , I'd consider a 2070 graphics card if possible but that's just my personal suggestion . If you can splurge there's some new ones like these coming soon

1. MSI-Leopard 10-SFK047

  1. Same thing but this one comes with some "free stuff " for 100$ more Other vendor MSI Leopard .

3. These guys I've heard are good as well but I've never used one

At max seeting the MSI GP65 Leopard 10SFK-047 15.6"and the MSI GP65 Leopard 10SEK-048. Both machine can run most AAA title games at max setting. Thanks to the powerful GPUs and core in them. If you rather to stay in the Asus family, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S Ultra Slim never fails for similar reasons.

Well I dunno about cheap, but the laptop they linked has a 2070.

Looking around to try and answer your question though, unfortunately a lot of laptop listings seem to be sold out right now so it's hard to gauge actual effective price for a lot of these (at least here in the US).

This article I found from December last year though suggested you could find one as low as $1400 in the ASUS ROG Strix Scar II 15.6″. https://techguided.com/best-rtx-2070-laptops/

Cheapest I can find on Amazon is what appears to be an alternative (or maybe US-regioned) listing of the MSI GL65 for $1500, which is what the person above linked a different posting to. https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Leopard-10SFK-047-Gaming-i7-10750H/dp/B085B3BPKG/

Alternatively, Eluktronics seems to have a listing on their site for the Mech-15 G2 that comes up to a little under $1400 for me (unsure about shipping, don't feel like registering to make it that far in checkout). https://www.eluktronics.com/MECH-15-G2

It's OOS right now, but GL65's with RTX 2070's /10750h are available for $1400 on amazon and newegg fairly often, their is one in stock, but it was a used return most likely https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Leopard-10SFK-062-i7-10750H-RTX2070/dp/B085B3GFRL . The GP65 is in stock, but its $1500. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085B3BPKG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Specs : 15.6" inch 120Hz Refresh rate 3ms, Intel Core i7-10750H , RTX 2070, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD

The only issues are on amazon the refresh rate is mentioned as 144Hz, but it is actually 120 Hz display and the speakers aren't that great.

The only one I currently found was this machine from HP for $1350, with a 2070 Max-Q.

https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/omen-laptop-15-dh1099nr?

It's not quite as powerful as a full "fat" 2070 (about 10% less powerful), but it's still about a 15-20% improvement over the 2060, and that's a really great price point.

Also, the Max-Q design will save power, which is really important in college for taking notes when a plug-in isn't available. I'm not sure how much it weighs, but it looks pretty manageable.

Otherwise, for $1400, you'll probably need to catch a sale to snag a 2070 laptop, but it is possible if you're patient. You should check out the laptop deals subreddit. $1400 is really the borderline between RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 machines.

https://www.reddit.com/r/LaptopDeals/search?q=2070&restrict_sr=1

Check this page, and it'll show you some deals.

It looks like an MSi GL-65 Leopard with a 10750H goes on sale periodically for exactly $1400. (The last time being 10 days ago.)

If you don't want to wait, Amazon has a GP65 available for $1500. Also from MSi-- the GP is a step up in build quality from the GL-series.

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Leopard-10SFK-047-Gaming-i7-10750H/dp/B085B3BPKG/ref=sr_1_11?dchild=1&keywords=%22rtx+2070%22+laptop&qid=1594612326&sr=8-11

Still, I have a hard time recommending MSi because I find their build quality to be a bit lacking for the GP series and below.

I'd go with that HP.
