Not sure what your budget would be, but I use an older MSI gaming laptop, and the game runs almost perfectly at medium to epic settings (depends on category). A PC with similar specs should run it fine, you might be able to find something a little cheaper.

Mine is similar to this, but an older model: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0843JCV17/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_JgrfFbT2PNA55

A notebook and a laptop are the same thing.

If you want more performance, the MSI GF63 Thin is an alternative that is a bit more expensive.

You can upgrade the RAM and storage on both devices.

Thanks for the detailed reply! I would prefer sooner rather than later for purchasing, but can definitely wait because I noticed prices were being inflated as well. I wasn't aware of that list though so I'll definitely be checking it out. How do you feel about the msi gf63? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0843JCV17/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_N-OUEb5EPX2SW

Also, it seems like all of these options may be swinging higher than I need them to. Do you know of any options around that 500 mark that are similar to my desktop specs above? I'll mostly be using it with affinity designer, so the gaming is just an added bonus.

With the current situation, I can't think of a 500 laptop that would be a good fit, but this offers good value for money.

Spend the extra 50 bucks and get this Way better Intel i5, and 1650 aswell. Which should be more than enough for 60fps gaming.

Last gen Ryzen is not worth it for any price tbh. And the 1650 is a decent step up from a 1050.

Checkout the MSI GF63 Thin 9SC-614, has great value for money wise this would be a great laptop to get. This laptop has a clean and professional so you can take it anywhere without sticking out as a gamer. It has a fair amount of ports so you won't have to bring a dongle to attach what you need. Its has adequate power to gaming and manage productivity tasks such as editing & CAD work smoothly. Its battery life is around 4-5 hrs so you might have to bring your charger if you want to work all day

15.6" FHD, Core i5-9300H, GTX 1650, 8GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD

Hope this helped :)

I just search on Amazon and there’s a few, here’s one of them (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0843JCV17/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_tXfhFbFPNMXZW) but this model of it does not have backlit keyboard, so in the dark you might need to rely on the screen light to see the keys. Also it has only 256gb storage, you may want to buy more yourself, a 500gb ssd or 1tb 2.5 inch hdd can also be found around the same price.

700 dollars is a good budget and most people on this thread are recommending pretty low specs imo. Don't buy intel UHD lol.

Asus Tuf FX505GT.I bought this a month ago and am absolutely pleased with it. Battery life is decent. Performance is AMAZING. RAM is 8GB expandable upto 16GB.

I can run Minecraft at full settings with Shaders at 60FPS, and vanilla minecraft on full settings at 200-300 FPS. GTAV High settings at 60FPS. Just make sure to purchase a laptop cooling pad as it can get hot if you're utilizing full resources. (Doesn't go above 80℃ with proper ventilation tho)

This Msi GF63 is also very good and more affordable. Specs are almost similar, build quality is probably slightly better.

And ofc I must mention, you are MUCH better off building a PC for 700 dollars.. that's a good ass budget for a really strong pc.

I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop. I'm not planning to play huge games, probably just League, CS:GO, and Rocket League.

I'm torn between these two because they look solid and seem like they have similar specs, but the MSI laptop is $100 cheaper. Anyone have any suggestions one way or the other?

I will recommend a laptop closer to the top end of your budget and one at the lower end. At the top the MSI GF63 Thin 9SCX-005 would defiantly run what you need it to smoothly without dropping FPS as it is very powerful. It is also very future proof for the price so it should last you a long while. At the $400 ish mark the MOTILE Laptop would be a good pick as it provides great value for money

What about this? It seems to sell for $700 on amazon.com. Basically you should look for something that comes with a dedicated GPU, either a GTX 1650 or even a GTX 1050, if you want to play with high settings. Try to check out reviews for the temperatures if you can find them, actual gaming can heat up the laptop a lot after some time. The Acer Nitro series should offer some good alternatives too below $900.

What are all your system specs, and is it prebuilt or did you build it/get someone to build it?

As far as I can tell, your problem is 100% your CPU. An RX 590 ought to be able to put out 1080p60 on medium graphics no matter how many people are around. If you wanted, I would say you could absolutely put together a system for cheap that'd easily be able to get you stable frames in operations.

For example: a Ryzen 3 3100/GTX 1650 Super system for $700. Obviously can be tweaked any way you want but that's just an example.

If you want a laptop instead, that's a little more difficult, but you can still get something like the MSI GF63 for $719, which has an i5-9300H and GTX 1650.

Most games don't rely on multiple cores; it's part of why Intel is still a tiny bit better on FPS than AMD, but gets blown out of the water on everything else. Clock speed isn't the only thing that matters, either. What you want is to find parts that give you the right balance of price to performance.

If you're not looking to overhaul your entire system but just replace the CPU, you'll have to look for something that fits in an FM2+ socket. Far as I can tell, you'll be limited to at most something like an Athlon X4 860K, which really isn't much of an improvement.

I got my son this laptop: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0843JCV17/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I got it for school primarily, but he uses it for fortnite with an external monitor, and it works great. It's a little above your range, but not much.

Ok so this is a complete gamble, but Keep an eye on these:

They are well over $400, but starting in July there’s a bunch of laptop deals for back to school. They might just get near $400. Check r/LaptopDeals and also watch ebay

Hard to tell since i am not in the same region as you but after looking on amazon.com i've seen this which could be interesting: https://www.amazon.com/MSI-9SCX-005-Gaming-i5-9300H-GTX1650/dp/B0843JCV17/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=msi+gaming+laptop&qid=1594766700&sr=8-5

But other then that it doesnt look like there is much in your price range. Also this laptop only has a 256 gb ssd which is quite small to install games and if you are going in computer science, most software that you will have to install such as visual studio, android studio, eclipse, ect. These take a lot of space, so will probably want to search for something with a big harddrive + a small ssd, such as a 128gb ssd and 1 tb harddrive.

Again i am not to sure of the market for your region but i would look on the used market probably if i were you, this is what i did for my first laptop when i was going to college in computer engineering.

Hope this helps a bit.

Perhaps the MSI GF63 Thin 9SCX-005 with a GTX 1650 MaxQ which is more powerful than the GTX 1050 but less powerful than a standard GTX 1050 Ti. It is 4.1lbs which is less than 2kg. A quad core i5-9300H, 8GB of RAM and 256G SSD is pretty much standard for the price of $729 USD.

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GL63-8SC-059-pulgadas-videojuegos/dp/B0843JCV17/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=msi+gf63&qid=1588703525&s=electronics&sr=1-4

The 9SD-400 has a six core i7-9750H CPU and a more powerful GTX 1660 Ti (similar to a GTX 1070 Ti MaxQ) which represents a significant performance improvement. The 9SD-400 also has a larger SSD; 512GB vs. 256GB and 16GB of RAM. But it does cost more at $1,100 USD. It is also 4.1lbs.

One option to consider just over your budget is the HP Pavilion 16. It has a bit larger 16.1" display and pretty solid specs with a GTX 1660Ti and a 45W i5 processor. I think a new version is cheapest on Amazon but there are open box models a bit cheaper at Best Buy. The 1660Ti would be fantastic for AAA gaming but you may want to look into adding another 8GB ram stick to up it to 16.

You could also consider cheaper options with a GTX 1650. They'll still be able to run AAA games but will have to be played on lower settings. Two okay options are the Ideapad 3 or the MSI GF63 but you could also check out other models with similar specs.
