you can use blue led strip lights and 9v batteries to create homemade veg lights for transporting plants . After you rebuild your tent in the uhaul, Just wrap them around the top of the tent. That’ll cut back on toxic fumes and heat

Mattress pad, a big case of bottled water and a lamp are some things that come to mind. The beds are pretty comfortable but a good mattress pad makes a huge difference. Bottled water cause when you get thirsty in the middle of the night you don’t have to walk down the hall to a water fountain if you live in a dorm or suite. The lamp (or any alternate light source) is because the main lights in the rooms are very bright so it’s nice to have a less aggressive light at night.
Some non essential things are posters or other things to decorate the walls. You can make your room a lot more lively if you have something that makes your walls less depressingly white. I recommend one of these too, they completely change the room up and it’s really cool at night.

Hi!
I used these lights https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JP5375R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_cwIhFbMTDXDA8
Since they do have an outlet power source I just cut the light strip itself to double the length I wanted, then folded it in on itself. After that I broke into the control panel and took out the board, soldered the lights to the corresponding prongs for the RGB lights (this way there was no way for them to come unplugged). Then I connected the other side of the control center piece to a regulator and then connected the regulator to a 9volt battery clip.
I really wanted to use this project as a way to better my soldering, and it really wasn't that hard! I took wayyyy too long trying to find lights that were battery operated and would fit the battery pack into the hilt and it was nearly impossible, so I did this instead.
If you have any other questions feel free to message me!

It wasn't this exact strip, but very similar. I don't know what brand we got, as it was about five years ago. https://www.amazon.com/MINGER-Changing-Lighting-Flexible-Decoration/dp/B07JP5375R/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=light+strip&qid=1600207404&sr=8-3

Haha I used an Amazon special. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JP5375R/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_QA8qFbJ1NMS54. Comes with a remote and a ton of different colors and you can adjust brightness. As far as the arrangement its kinda crudely done but I can send you a picture of the back if you DM me.

That depends on how you want to place them. I’ve seen people use the ones that just line the top of each shelf. Or mine are these ones and you just cut off the excess after outlining the perimeter.

In that case a generic led strip like this'll be best for you, unless you want to use your own controller. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JP5375R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_FyhAEb2BES4XT
Pretty sure you can get them in different lengths and leds/meter just search "led strip lights" on amazon.

Some advice:
First I'd get the better kind of RGB LEDs where the RGB components are not separated, but all three are integrated into each LED. Link (I just choose one on Amazon randomly by searching for RGB LED Strip) Those doesn't look like a rave of red green and blue, and you actually could set it to different uniform colors of the rainbow.
Additionally I wouldn't install the LEDs behind the figures. It's better if the LEDs are facing the figures from the front rather than lighting them from the back (and into your eyes blinding you as well).
One more trick is to use some kind of diffusor, something like these. This way the light will be more scattered, and less harsh, that is whatever they light will look better.
I'd try these before buying a detolf.

You’ll definitely want a desk lamp. I got a cheap Walmart one for this year, and it was fine. However, my roommate actually had two Himalayan salt lamps that she used, and I’d honestly recommend that. Not only were they bright enough to see to do work, but the lamps also came in clutch for just chillin in the room when you didn’t want to be in the dark but didn’t need the overhead light. If you don’t want to go the salt lamp route, these LED light strips are also popular on campus. It’s not something people necessarily forget, but lighting wasn’t something I thought about at all.

Hello, I repurposed my daughter's LEDs as she doesn't use them much anymore and I want to install a motion sensor.
Here is the LED strip kit I have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JP5375R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_HtzfFb2NNH06V
Here is a motion sensor that looks like a good fit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JLB0GM6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_hwzfFbZKWKTEG
Would this work to install the sensor before the controller unit? I want to just set the color and brightness and forget about it. I'm assuming I can't ditch the controller or else the LEDs wouldn't know what to do. Thank you in advance. First year apprentice here.

Maybe a remote controlled LED strip or light projector? Kinda like these LED https://www.amazon.com/MINGER-Changing-Lighting-Flexible-Decoration/dp/B07JP5375R/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=led+strip&qid=1594579776&sr=8-3 Projector https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B084DCF429/ref=cm_cr_othr_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8#cm_cr_carousel_images_section

Since the tape on the back of the LED strips isn’t always the strongest, I reinforced it with this tape. Since I put the strips in hidden places and behind surfaces, you can’t even notice there’s tape.
My apartment looks 100x better than it did before I put up LED lights. It looks so modern and futuristic.

33 gallon 'spacebin' journey

This is my journey from dreaming of growing, to planning out my own stealth bucket build, to growing my own plant.
https://preview.redd.it/vbb9ypy70qz51.jpg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3fddc82d5519e5724c0add6eb16fe711720905b
I started this build in november as a kind of quarantine project. I had always been fascinated with growing, and tried a couple times in the past but never really broke down and really did the research to put everything together successfully. Where I live, complete stealth is the only option. I wanted to build something that I knew would be able to be completely stealthed stuffed in a closet with my pile of clothes, and be totally smell-proof. I went with the 33gal because i didnt want to have to worry about adding on rings and cutting up 5gal buckets, I figured this would give me a bit more headroom, although i knew heavy lst would be necessary either way. So far it's working great.
Basically for the build I spray painted the inside of the 33gal trash can with white paint, let it dry, then I cut a hole in the trash can for the exhaust, hooked duct up to an in line fan and a big carbon filter to help with smell, cut a hole for a small pc fan for the intake, and used the other pc fan to circulate air (these are usb fans powered by a small wall wart). I put an LED strip around the inside to help get light to the plant under the canopy. I cut a hole in the top and hung a 4 socket light fixture and put 4 - 45watt cfls (a couple of the bulbs later burned out and i replaced them with smaller LED bulbs that are working fine). Plugged it all into 2 timers and put my plants on an 18-6 light schedule, I did lots of LST and some defoliation along the way. I used water from my aquarium to water the plant about once every 3 or 4 days. I decide when to water based on my humidity meter, weight of the pot, and feel of the top bit of soil so sometimes it needs water after 3 days sometimes it goes almost a week.(the aquarium water actually tested pretty well for PH, and i figured there must be some good natural nutrients there ) and started using general hydroponics Maxi-Bloom at around 4 weeks in about every other watering. Started at about 25% recommended strength but the plant seems to handle the recommended dosage of 1 tbsp per gallon pretty well. I had heard about the KISS method for feeding plants and it seems to be working great. I just use maxibloom, check for any nute burn if i raise the dosage, and if i see a bit of brown on the lower tips i dial it back. I will add in a bit of cal mag at some point but for now it doesn't appear to show any deficiencies. I planted it september 5th, and it really sprouted up around the 10th. At this point the plant is right around 2.5 months old. I switched it to flower just under a week ago. The last pictures are from 2 weeks ago. I'll update with a current pic when she wakes up in the AM.
Thanks so much for checking it out! if anyone has any questions i'd love to answer, and any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

EDIT: This is my first reddit post so i apologize for any formatting errors. The pictures with the intake hole cut/fan mounted somehow didn't make it into the album. YES i know some of the pictures are blurry, my phone camera is terrible.

Everything listed here cost me around $220 plus any varying shipping prices. I had my own light fixture and 45 watt cfl bulbs which saved me at least around $100 on the lighting. Although its not abnormal for serious growers to spend $300-500 on a light, the equivalent of what i used can be bought for around $100 give or take. I also had my own extension cords and a couple of power strips, which would cost around $30 dollars.General Hydroponics HGC718281 MaxiBloom Plant Food For Flowers, 2.2 lb - $18.99
