$43, easy no tools installation (basic pliers and a butter knife doesn't hurt...)
Water is cold, but still better than nothing. Heated versions require a bit of plumbing knowledge to manage and may have to drill a hole.

Mine attaches to the water intake line for the tank, the bidet came with a splitter. Tushy really isn't a good brand and that's coming from experience of use. For one, the angle of it sits way too high so you have to lean extremely forward for it to work properly. Another drawback is that the nozzle is always exposed and the spray options are also limited.
This brand is better across the board in my experience. Better cleaning options (one for women), a shield that keeps the nozzle covered when not in use, and some models even heat the water if you want to pay more.

NZ is odd about bidet installs. Most countries, e.g USA and Japan are fine with this seat type attachements, but here we require some "backflow preventer" for some reason, even though it appears super low risk for any backflow issue at all, seriously. Anyway, I'm not a plumber, but I installed one of these and it works well, can connect to the line to the cistern: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P2XZIP2 peachy clean!

No idea, I'm getting it later today lol i can give you an update when I get it though!

The Luxe Neo 185, a snip at $38. You'll likely need an additional water hose and T-fitting so that the water can furnish both the toilet and the bidet.
This model has a setting for washing lady bits too. The Neo 120 is about $8 less but doesn't have the lady bits setting.

Have you looked at the one OP mentions? Here's a link. It's not a standalone bidet. It adds on to your existing toilet. You need a few inches on the side of your toilet, and access to the water line that runs into your toilet already. You don't need space. You don't need to own a home. Though your landlord might not appreciate you messing with plumbing, this is the most basic of operations. You're adding an adapter to the existing line and connecting to that. That's it.
If you want a bidet, you can cheaply and easily have bidet functionality.

I only use like 3 squares of TP to dry off. This is the one I have. I highly recommend. But it does have one thing. It has a "Women" selection. This has led to discussions between me and the wife that went something like this. "If you leave that bidet in Women mode one more time, I'm going to start leaving the toilet seat up again."

It's more the convenience factor. People think that cold bidet water would be disgusting, but once I used one for a week... It's wonderful. You know when you get those logs that just don't want to come out and then you have to use half a roll of toilet paper? No problem at all. I try not to poop at work when I can avoid it. ;)
For lazy people, for anyone who just wants to save money, or help the environment. Once you get past the psychological yuck factor, it's wonderful. Here's mine:

I found one that taps in the sink hot water with just a splitter and no new plumbing or electricity required (I think it's this one. That worked for really well for our main floor powder room that has a pedestal sink and the toilet. I appreciate the "feminine wash" setting.
I have one with out hot water in our master bathroom water closet because there's no electric or plumbing easily accessible and actually don't find it to be bad. It can be a bit... refreshing sometimes, but mostly because we are on well water so when it's pulling water that's not been in the pipes the water is ~40F degrees in winter.

Better than tushy in all aspects. I know because I have tushy in the other bathroom.

Yeah, I got one during The Great Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020. I'm going to be removing it this weekend. It's too hard to clean behind and I just don't use it much.
Edit: sorry, I didn't realize you meant the nozzle on a hose type. I got this one. https://www.amazon.com/Luxe-Bidet-Neo-185-Elite/dp/B00P2XZIP2/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=bidet&qid=1597335930&sr=8-5

This is a handheld bidet. You can get cheaper ones if you like.
There is another version where it isn’t handheld. It’s like installed onto the seat. Like this.
I like the handheld bidets more. Only thing that would be better than it are japanese ones. They are sort of similar to the 2nd example, but more luxurious. Automatic. Shoots soap and water. Rinses your ass. Then blow drys it. That’s just as close as you get to heaven.
I used one at a hotel in Japan. I still think about it and I don’t feel complete after I shit.

Yes, worth it!
We got this one because we have no outlet near our toilet: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P2XZIP2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_3B8cFbQJ1PQYQ
We installed one prior to having our first baby. I haven't ever had any issues with hemorrhoids personally even though it's a help for that. It was great not having to worry about filling a peri bottle while recovering at home. You still have control over the pressure. There is already enough to do and worry about too, it's easier when you have one less thing to do/worry about.

I have this one and you don't have to do anything except slightly turn the front knob.
To "aim" it you simply lean slightly forward or backwards. Alternately, you can slightly tilt your pelvis forward or back.
As a female, I do have to lean a bit more forward when I use the "Woman" setting so that it can wash at the lady bits up from.

I actually bought the bidet attachment that you just add on to your regular normal everyday toilet so when you flush, it still washes the sides of the bowl like normal. It’s very easy and very low maintenance!
Here’s a good example of the one my friend just purchased: Luxe Bidet Neo 185 (Elite) Non-Electric Bidet Toilet Attachment ... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P2XZIP2/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_t1_8o7AEbSC8WGT9

A bidet. You put it on your toilet and when you turn it on it sprays water to clean your butt. It is revolutionary! And we didn’t have to fight any people to clean our butts during quarantine. Bidet

There are many, many choices. We went with this one because it was so inexpensive at the time, and we weren’t sure if we’d like using one. Spoiler: we do. Will likely get one with hot water and drying some day.

I did a lot of research and bought 3 models to try out. The Tushy, the Luxe Neo 185, and another I can’t recall the name of. The Luxe Neo is by far the best you can get for under $50

We bought this one with the feminine wash option five months ago and it’s been amazing. The “women” side of the dial is much gentler and is angled forward so it does more of a front wash. It only has cold water though, which can be extremely bracing on cold winter mornings.

Have you ever done yard work then washed your hands off with the garden hose? It is a similar principal.
First, a bidet uses a small, focused stream of water. We're not talking about a wide blast radius, more of a sniper shot.
Second, yes, your butt will be a little wet. That's life. Now the way the bidet works is the little spray knocks off the mess and that drips off your butt and into the toilet bowel. You don't just do a two second spritz and leave, you sit for as long as you need to clean yourself.
So, you turn it on, it begins spraying, how the hell do you go from the legendary "it's like a sharpie!" to "clean as a whistle!"? Well, you actually got it right on your own. Just slowly move your hips about a bit. You'll know where the spray is, not like you can't feel it...(unless you can't, then my condolences). You'll have to experiment with different motions, but eventually you'll find a pattern that cleans you the most efficiently.
Will this splatter remnant everywhere? kinda, kinda not. It really depends on the poops you have. That said, honestly, it is a life changer when you have diarrhea. When you've just finished flush number four and you know you have another 45 min of pain and suffering ahead, a bidet actually soothes your back door. Think of it like this, really bad diarrhea cleans EVERYTHING out. Even your small intestine and your bile and those acids burn. What does your high school science teacher say about acids on skin? Rinse/flush with water for 10 minutes. What better way to protect your exit port than with a constant stream of water rinsing that acid and bile away? I've had to clean that mess up with TP. I gave up and just got in the shower. The bidet saves me a LOT of clean up time in those situations. As for regular poops...honestly there's not much that I worry about. Things are surprisingly contained. Clean your toilet on a semi-regular basis (every few weeks) and you'll be fine.
So big question: Do you still need tp? Yes. BUT(T), only for a light drying. 1-2 squares will honestly do the job. Think about that. If you only needed 1-2 squares for a wipe vs your normal amount, how much tp would you save in a week? A month? A year?
My wife and I went from using 1.5 rolls a week to roughly 1 roll every 2 weeks. We haven't bought TP since at least January and that was a single 12-pack of Charmin. All thanks to a $50 bidet that I bought off amazon.

I didn't read far enough in the comments to see if someone posted this, but you can actually buy a bidet attachment for a regular toilet. Here's an example (with apologies for posting the stupidly long link, because for some reason Chrome won't let me hyperlink in text here):

I got some from Times Supermarket a couple of days ago. I had heard they were stocked and they seemed like they had a reasonable amount when I was there.
Amazon has fairly cheap bidets, we picked up a couple of them, they were really easy to install and would be really easy to uninstall whenever you need to.

I absolutely agree about buying a Bidet attachment for your toilet - I got mine for like $40 and it is the BEST.
Along the same subject, I also recommend a squatty-potty or other stool to elevate your legs while on the toilet - straightening the colon makes bowel movements easier.
1 points • hello-jello
You want the 2 dials - has lady zone wash - regular and cleaning mode. Lady zone is further forward and softer which is helpful on very sensitive days. (I'm a dude) Real easy to install. Comes with all the parts you need. I've lost parts during a move and emailed them - they mailed me replacement parts free of charge! It doesn't dry you or heat the water. Doesn't take any power/have to be plugged in.
I've had all those function on a $500 Bidet king unit and it wasn't worth it. Was giant - barely fit my toilet - actually had space between the bowl and lid even though it was the smallest unit I could find. The dryer is pointless - made beeps randomly in the night. Looked gross and geriatric. This one you barely notice it's on there.

Get this. It will solve the issue with your girlfriend and leave you both clean as a whistle. It will also save you tons of cash in toilet paper. When I got this, my entire family loved it. My daughter in particular mentioned how she "felt free of sin" each time she used it. When we have to use the bathroom elsewhere, we feel bumbed since we know that we wont have that same fresh feeling.

Bum guns are ok, bidets are next level.
My favorite inexpensive bidet went from 600b to 2000b to FU. My second favorite went from 800b to 3000b to your mother for the weekend.
Thankfully we have 3 bidets in the house in the US, but we're stuck here till this settles down.
General tip, don't wait for a pandemic to have a clean asshole. Bum guns are ok if you like the spread your shit everywhere, but [a remote controlled shitter] (https://i.imgur.com/TioxDTg.jpg) is where it's at.

The Luxe Bidet Neo 185. $37.99. Cold water system that cleans both front and rear end. Cheapest model that cleans both, others only clean rear. I bought it after much research and love it! You can go more with a more expensive model than this, with hot water, etc. if you choose. I believe this is the most popular one you are looking for. Be sure and purchae the Luxe Toilet seat bumpers to raise the front of the toilet seat equal with the rear. You must have them for it to work correctly. I wish I'd known this :) The sticky foam isn't great on these, I glued them with Gorilla glue
