[Mouse] Logitech G502 Hero - $40 ($80-$40 sale)
r/DestinyTheGame • comment

- Having a free-scrolling mouse wheel isn't necessary or particularly useful in D2, but it's definitely nice to have.
- As mentioned by others, the Logitech G502 is a very good option with the ability to swap between standard and zero friction scrolling. If you'd rather have that functionality but in an ambidextrous and wireless package, go with the G503. I've personally owned the wired G502 and really liked it, not to mention that it's a competitive option as far as price is concerned.

You can spend $30 now and have the same issue in a year time if you're lucky. Or you can spend $60 now and have a mouse that will last you 5 years.

Your choice.

I transcended the plains of Earth and retrieved the mouse from the Gods themselves.

Or I just went here.

Looks like it's only $40 here.

I guess the $99 one is wireless but this one isn't? Is that the only difference?

I've been using the g502 Hero for over a year now and I don't have any complaints, it's got weights you can add in and or take out as well as quite a few mappable buttons

What about the Logitech G502?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GBZ4Q68/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_9tQzFb5R8SDJ2

Not much more expensive and it seems to be at the top of many recommendation lists.

you're thinking of the wired version, which is currently on sale for $40 on amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GBZ4Q68/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_hZ8xEb5QF7QSJ

the "SE" version (basically same hardware with white patterning) was on sale for $25 at best buy over the holidays.

Great mouse. I own both SE and non SE wired version, and so far they feel about the same. I couldn't justify the premium for the wireless version, as the wire didn't bother me that much.

The G502 is probably better for only $10 more. Plus, the lights turn off when you turn your computer off night, which seems like a problem for you after seeing your comment.

If you google 502 double click you'll get a lot of results. There are software and hardware fixes if it's out of warranty.

Well the 15$ one i used for years when I was first getting into pc gaming was called the zelotes gaming mouse. Its pretty beefy in your hand, but for 15$ you really can't complain. For the best mouse I've ever experienced in my life The Logitech g502 is generally around 60$, but there's a sale on Amazon that has the newer one for only 40$. I have been using the same g502 for 4 years, and the thing is still going strong, I literally cannot recommend this mouse enough, so if you have 40$ id recommend it.

Edit: In case you were looking to buy soon, here's the link for the Logitech g502 Hero! https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G502-Performance-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B07GBZ4Q68/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=g502&qid=1605201924&sr=8-1

Logitech G502. Yes, it's technically a "gamer" mouse and has too many buttons, but it's the most comfortable and responsive mouse I've ever used (I own two of them). I bought one for a family member and they agree that it's amazing even for general tasks (spreadsheets, browsing). You can program macros/assign keys to the buttons through the driver software, save it to the G502's internal memory, and plug in the mouse on a separate computer where it will just work even without the software.

Downside: not for lefties.

G502 Brand New and HyperX Alloy Cherry MX reds. Better then the proprietary romer-g switches Logi uses for their older keyboards. These are just 2 suggestions. If I look more on amazon or bestbuy or whichever american store you can give me, to show how bad of a deal that used "kit" is =)

Edit: If you absolutely want the G502, that is a mouse which is on sale somewhere prob every weekend or so.

The G703 is basically a Pro for palm grip players with big hands. I loved that mouse until mine got the double click issue. If you want a wired mouse, the 403 is the same shape.

With the double click issue, I have been using my G502 again with the low thumb button disabled, so I only have the two side buttons like the 703, 403, pro etc. It is honestly a great mouse as well.

OP, you can get the 502 for around $50 with the latest sensor. Amazon - G502

The simpler 403 is around the same price: Amazon - G403

Just pick a build or make your own on pcpartpicker.

Just make sure to buy a RTX 3080, even if you don't need it(and get 16+ gb ram).

For a keyboard, be sure to go for a mechanical one.

You can use the opto-mechanical ones from Razer if you just want the feel.

For a mouse, I prefer wired, much faster and cheaper.

If the wire really bugs you, just tape it on a wall or use a mouse bungee.

https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G502-Performance-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B07GBZ4Q68/ref=sr_1_2?crid=35YDM7OB9PW07&dchild=1&keywords=gaming+mouse+logitech+g502&qid=1601853604&sprefix=gaming+mouse+logitech%2Caps%2C197&sr=8-2

omfg get this mouse it's the cheapest it's ever been. Plus it's the new version so it has 16k dpi and a new optical sensor and all.

And for a monitor, frames really do matter. I cannot handle anything beneath 165 but there's not much of a difference above that.

Monitors have horrible audio, so use headphones or buy some speakers.

Keeps you under same branding, logitech's software is the best out of the few I've had, and doesn't break the bank.

I love the g502. If you've got the money I recommend the higher end wireless with the weights.

Late to the party here.

As a long time competetive mmo player:

Get a decent gaming mouse and a foot pedal. They're cheap, durable, and offer you a huge amount of functionality without tying your hands.

I have a 2 pedal version, you map each pedal to a key and then bind those keys to skills. For example, my left pedal is [. For PLD I have l/r pedal on my aoe combo, plus other skills on shift l pedal, shift right pedal, etc.

this one uses the same kinda grip as the g900, they have a limited edition thats 6 bucks cheaper on amazon right now. which i think may be a typo cause the limited edition one on bestbuy is like 80.

and this is the slightly cheaper little brother of the 502.

the mouses tend to be modeled around the 2 main ppl logitech and razer. and theirs 3 styles of mice

this one is kinda in the middle of the 2 styles being more of a neutral mouse https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsair-harpoon-rgb-wireless-optical-gaming-mouse-black/6316173.p?skuId=6316173

Reddragon also has a TKL, the K552.

Red switches(Linear switch that needs less force to press) @ $35: Link

Blue switches (Loud/clicky with tactile feedback)@ $40: Link

I'm using the first revision (as far as I can tell the only difference is mine has only red LED's for backlight, where that one is rainbow) and it works great, highly recommend it.

For a mouse, the logitech G502 is currently on sale on amazon for $40 as well, and I've heard good things about it. Link

In order of when I had them.

NOTE: I had each of these mice for at least 1-2 years if not longer.

  1. Those cheap IBuyPower mice. Got one from my sister when she got her prebuilt computer back in 2013. Cant find a link to it, but look at any of their prebuilts and they come with it.

  2. Cheapest One I've Tried (besides the trash mice that come with things like company computers)

  3. Corsair Glaive Alright mouse, too large for me, hence my change to the g502

  4. G502 Hero - under 50 dollars right now too.

I personally use the Logitech G600 at the moment but that's probably not practical for most people. Previously I used the Razer Mamba, although the Razer Deathadder is essentially the same thing. I also hear good things about the Cooler Master mouse if you need something light but I personally have not used it, and of course the Logitech G502 is a pretty commonly used mouse too. I hope some of those ideas are helpful!

Okay, got it. The monitor is perfect right now as it's tough to find good deals on monitors. This is gonna be your best bet and is a lot better than the ones you'd be paying $140-$150 for before this virus was going around.

25" AOC 1080p 144 Hz 1ms TN GSync-Compatible Monitor $170

As for mouse and keyboard, these are really all you need. The Hero mouse is basically what all competitive gamers go with when they have the budget to get it. The others are very decent and good for if you simply don't want to pay $50 for a mouse.

PICTEK Gaming Mouse 7200 DPI $14.99

Redragon M601 Gaming Mouse 7200 DPI $13.99

NPET K10 Gaming Keyboard 4 LED Modes $28.99

Rii Primer RGB Keyboard $14.99

Logitech G502 Hero $46.90

I would recommend either a 1440p 144hz monitor or a 1080p 240hz monitor depending on what you play. I do like corsair keyboards but I despise of their headphones. For headphones if you have a large enough budget I recommend the Sennheiser HD 599 with a ModMic or Blue Snowball, but If you are on a tighter budget, any of the SteelSeries headsets will do you well. I am a bit of an audiophile myself and I am aware that there are very prominent issues with most of Corsair's headset lineup. I think their mouse are okay, but I would advise for either a Logitech or Razer such as the G502 HERO or Deathadder v2 mouse instead. I know some people will bash me for liking Razer but I found that their mice have the best comfort, while still maintaining quality. I myself use a Razer Mamba Elite because I find Logitech mice too uncomfortable. Also if you decide to get a keyboard with loud switches (MX Blue, MX Black) or equivalent I would recommend a dynamic microphone so you do not annoy your friends and teammates. To pick a keyboard I would either go with the K70 MK2 or the K95 Platinum, with your choice of switches. I hope this can help!

Alright, I've built 2 PCs. One with Intel and one with Amd.

>Case - be quiet! Pure Base 500DX

Good airflow case, also has a USB-C header.

>Case Fans - 3x [Silent] be quiet! Silent Wings 3 PWM 120mm Black Fan

Good fans.

>Processor - i7 10700k / Ryzen 7 3700X

You don't need an i9 for gaming. Most games don't use 8+ cores so there will be no difference.

>Processor Cooling - NZXT Kraken X73/Z73

The Z73 has a customizable display, so you can show cpu/gpu temps on it, but they should both cool the same.

>Memory - 16 GB [8 GB x2] DDR4-3200 Memory Module

Pretty normal memory.

>Video Card - RTX 3080

You can also get a 3090 for 10% more performance if you can afford the extra $1000. I wouldn't recommend it though.

>Motherboard - ASUS ROG Strix Z490-E / X570

Good motherboard, with wifi 6.

>Power Supply - CORSAIR RM850X

850w and gold efficiency.

>Storage - 1 TB WD Black 3D Series SN750 M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD

Was a free upgrade.

>OS - Windows 10

Obviously.

>Monitor - ASUS TUF VG259QM

1080p and 280hz, but 24.5" only, so it'll look sharp.

>Keyboard

Honestly most of these keyboard aren't that good, I would go with this, this or this. TKL or full size is your preference.

>Mouse - Basilisk v2 / DeathAdder v2

Ok mice.

Here's some recommendations that aren't on ibuypower.

G502 Lightspeed and G Pro Wireless - Wireless mouse with the performance of a wired mouse, get it if you can afford. A lot of pros use the G Pro one. It's lighter and more simpler than the G502 Lightspeed, but only has 4 extra buttons instead of 11, and no infinite scroll wheel. You can also get them in a bundle with the Power Play mat, and you won't need to charge them.

G502 Hero - Wired version with a better sensor than Proteus core, but cheaper than the lightspeed.

>Headset - Just get anything

>Speakers - none

The monitor has speakers, so I didn't add any, but you can get them if you find good ones.

The ryzen 5000 series should release next week too, so if you can wait you'll get a stronger cpu.

Hi!

> I'm aware that I still need these parts: > > ~Case Fans

You case does come with fans, you don't necessarily need more.

Careful with the psu: That seems to be not available and the walmart vendor hast just one very bad review.

> my own gaming PC...Seagate Barracuda

For gaming PC you could just not get a HDD. They are loud and slow. More money that can go into the SSD, the only place from where you should start games :)

You could make this a bit cheaper by replacing the 2600 with a 1600 AF. That's not obligatory: The cooler of the 2600 is a bit better. But the processors itself are almost identical, so if you consider upgrading the cooler anyway the AF can be the better choice.
