Ok in terms of CPU performance about the best in the business rn is the ryzen 7 4800h but since it's an H series it needs good cooling and it won't come in some of the thin and light in this price range and might be a little over the 1k budget(~1050). Other than that you're also sacrificing a bit of battery life.

The cheapest one I found was the Levono Legion. Comes with 8 gb RAM and 512 gigs of SSD storage and GTX 1650. The keyboard is a definite upside and the panel is pretty decent too with a 120hz refresh.

Just to be sure, this is the laptop you're talking about right?

The problem is that your use case isn't very demanding, so getting a stronger CPU isn't going to change anything. A durable and reliable business level laptop will make an impact on your experience, simply because they are a lot less likely to have QC issues, have good support, and will last.

The strongest option available to you is the Lenovo Legion 5, but I don't think it suits you best.

I was just reading up on the Gateway and the webcam is below the screen which is a dealbreaker for the wife, I think I'm going to go with the Legion 5. Amazon has this for $985: https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Laptop-7-4800H/dp/B087HJ4RRZ

But Lenovo's site has a few more options that won't ship for over a month. Is that Amazon one good, or is there more to look out for as far as customizing?

It depends on who's the seller,

Bestmarks for example lists the HP spectre at 16999, abroad it's around 1249USD (Approximately 12000 MAD). That's a 41% cut.

I found the Lenovo Legion 5 on Amazon for 989USD, it ships to morocco but if we add shipping and import fees it becomes 1323,24 USD.

I recommend the legion 5 with 8 core AMD Ryzen 7 4800H.

It has enough cores to help stream and doesn't have gamer accents so it should be pretty stealthy in public.

This one is 879$, you can upgrade the RAM to 16GB and you will have a great machine that can basically do it all.

I just stumbled across the Lenovo Legion 5 just a few hours ago. Its 15 inches, 512 SSD and 8gb RAM expandable to 32. And it has the Ryzen 7 4800U. For 879 USD.
Its on the upper end of my budget but that looks like a very good configuration to me. Especially due to the processor and expandable ram.

Most Dell and Legion laptops look professional and might just hit that price point.

Check this out, you might like it. Processor has 8 cores compared to the i7-10750H with only 6. This also has a 120hz screen so it should be worth it.

If you can, you should consider an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H CPU. This new series of mobile chips are not only much cheaper than Intel chips but perform better. Rocket League is dependent on the CPU for stable frame rates (lots of physics calculations in the game), though you'll need a discrete GPU like the one you listed to get high frames. I would suggest something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Laptop-7-4800H/dp/B087HJ4RRZ.

Ryzen 4800H is what you want for this. You can get a nice machine with that CPU for under 1k.

Dell G5 15 SE vs Acer Predator Helios 300 vs Legion 5

Which of these three would be the best overall in terms of performance and upgradability?

No. Ryzen 4000 is far superior to anything intel has to offer.

Personally I would go for these two:

Lenovo Legion 5: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087HJ4RRZ/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B087HJ4RRZ&linkCode=as2&tag=pilot35-20&linkId=554af4b180f868ae22529bba2b4f551b

HP Omen 15 (can't find the amd version on amazon)

Thank you so much! I have a question if you don't mind! So I decided on the Legion 5 but I kept looking for something brighter and came upon the S940 with 500 nits. They're similar in pricing but I was wondering if they're similar enough in specs? Thank you again!

To put it in perspective, for example a Lenovo Legion 5:

Unit price in Amazon is 989USD which is 48148.48PHP
https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Laptop-7-4800H/dp/B087HJ4RRZ/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=lenovo+legion+5&qid=1597987261&sr=8-1

Unit price in Benstore is 59,900PHP for the same specs, or 1230.38USD
https://benstore.com.ph/lenovo/4269-lenovo-legion-5-156-gaming-laptop-120hz-ryzen-7-4800h-gtx-1650-4gb-8gb-ddr4-512gb-ssd-phantom-black-.html

However, check the Amazon link again. Import Duties cost 349.42USD, bringing the actual cost to 1338.42USD. Akala mo mura unit pero napamahal ka pa ng >100USD dahil sa import duty. wala pa diyan yung shipping cost.

Same thing will happen if you buy from Japan and have it shipped here. AFAIK the tax computation for having something shipped from Japan isn't different if shipped from the US, but I might be mistaken there.
