Are you using an actual CD player, or are you using a PC? In my experience, motherboard audio is good enough these days that an external DAC won't really provide much of a quality increase for you unless you are specifically having some sort of issue with your onboard audio. If you only have $150 to budget to the whole system right now, I would highly recommend getting some speakers.
I know this is technically a little outside your price range, but if you can scrounge up an extra $7, these are excellent speakers for the money. If you can step up to $180, get the R15Ms instead.

These will work well for you, though.

>I don't know of any. Fluance RT82 $299 $275 with $25 off coupon code "Review25" has auto stop and a new optical sensor speed controlled servo motor for much lower wow and flutter and speed variation. It includes an OM10 cartridge which is a bit better than the newer version 2M Red on the RT83. Pass on the older RT81 that lacks the new speed sensor. The you can upgrade to the Nagaoka MP-110 later.
I will keep this in mind. If my AT-LP2x keeps working well I hope to keep it for another year. I did order the Pfanstiehl 4211DE stylus. I have never replaced a stylus. I should be able to swap it and not need to realign it right? Might need to level and adjust tracking force I imagine. Wont hurt to check the alignment but it should not change right?

>Different model lines from the same brand often have different tweeters and mid bass drivers so they will have a bit different sound signature. Though sure the center does not absolutely have to be a matching model or brand.
I did some more reading on this last night and yeah I guess you should buy the same brand and model for the front 3. You don't have to but it is a good general rule.

Noted. I think I am going to have to do some research on this and just wait to buy a quality one down the line. My current setup is my first try and it is definitely budget. I am enjoying it but I know there is much improvement to be made.

>Klipsch are less bright then they used to be and are good for home theater dialog.
I ended up ordering R-41Ms as they were $117 for the pair. I kept having doubts about the T15s. I plan to use them as surrounds but I want to test them out for music and even as mains. I know the timbre could be quite off with the center but at least I will learn something. I am hoping as surrounds they wont be distracting. Might return them and go with one of the others that you recommended. If I do enjoy them I might eventually switch over to Klipsch.
I need to do some research, do you know if my receiver would let me use the surrounds as zone 2? I am thinking possibly using the fronts and center for video games while playing music on the surrounds. Or possibly just playing music on the surrounds but also use the subwoofer for it. This wouldn't be a regular thing, maybe just for testing or for some racing games.
Thanks for all your help!

If you like the sound of Klipsch, and horn tweeters, the R-41M speakers come in near your price point. They don't have real deep bass, but sound surprisingly good for their size and being fairly efficient speakers, get decently loud without a ton of power. If you have a Costco membership, occasionally you can find them there for even less.

How are the Klipsh R-41M? I would probably want an amp that is also bluetooth capable in case I want to play music from my phone.

May I recommend a setup under 200? For nice bookshelf’s I nominate Klipsch R-41M Powerful Detailed Bookshelf Home Speaker Set of 2 Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FKH3VPV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_66t1Fb684KND4 , and for a power source I recommend you look around, Facebook marketplace for a receiver, or if you do not have the space, amazon has tons and tons of class t/d amps.

Which one is better, Klipsh-41M or Edifier R1280DB
Both are amazon and are the same exact cost. Also, I have very little audiophile experience. I'm in search of an opinion of which would be better for PC gaming.

Yes, they 're price worthy for sure. As you can see they have 4,5 stars with about 700 reviews on Amazon so they are sure a good choice for the money. Also I would suggest you these ( https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-R-41M-Powerful-Detailed-Bookshelf/dp/B07FKH3VPV ) or these ( https://www.amazon.com/PreSonus-Eris-E3-5-Professional-Multimedia/dp/B075QVMBT9 ). All of them are totally price worthy.

That Sony amp is good, it's my office workhorse. Take a look at these speakers, good price on Amazon, should pair with the amp pretty nice

Thank you for that. I actually did see that and I changed my setup. This is what I ended up ordering (plus cables and wires) What do you think?:

Well their are several routes to do that, really good monitors ie: Klipsh makes the best that I know of that are on the lower end of expensive. Such as : Klipsch (4 in), they are rather small though, but are amazingly clear and have great low end (for their size). Bose is always a good call, I used to love my Bose surround w/acousticmass module. Any Klipsch above 6in will have all the bass you need. You could go with KRK Rokits, they are kind of a standard for producers, djs, etc...
If you want to have an epic sound experience I would recommend getting something along the lines of :
Klipsch - 6.5 in reference Monitor (absolutely amazing speakers)
then to ensure proper low end Klipsch - 12 in subwoofer these give crazy clear, concise bass. Probably my favorite sub i have and I own a 15 in KRK Sub, and several JBL, Pioneer and Presonus subs.
Klipsch also makes full on dolby atmos systems, which are by far imo the best surround systems ever created. But I am biased, Klipsch kind of won me over a couple years ago. Hopefully this helps.

Sweet, thanks. I might grab this AVR and then get something like this for 3.1:
Klipsch seems universally loved and I can expand later into 5.1 or 7.1 if I'd like. I'll keep looking around to see if there's something more affordable that's decent quality.

There is alot of info right there. Thank you so much for the time you put into this. I'm most likely gonna avoid the sound bar and get a full system now.
It might be a little tricky as I am renting and may not be able to set everything up correctly. (Hiding wires is what I mean)
I'm thinking of just getting 2 speakers and sub but buying a receiver that can do atmos later. It makes sense what your saying about the sound point being precisely calibrated for certain speakers in certain positions to your ear.
I'd def want quality sound over unreliable soundbar sound that shoots in closed directions. I am spending 500$ minimum so may as well get something I can upgrade alter.
I really don't mind spending like 750$ for 2 speakers and a good AVR to start off now and get a sub later. Once I get into a better living space I can buy the rear speakers / sub.
Can I use these speakers for the full setup? If not can you suggest some 300-500$ front speakers that would pair greatly with the S750-H
I read somewhere they wont work together for some reason I forgot.
Thanks again for answering all my questions !

Start with just a stereo system with the option to upgrade to surround sound later if you decide to. This will be 100x better than TV built in speakers.
Get a 2 channel dac/amp like this: Micca OriGain Compact Stereo Integrated Amplifier and DAC, 50W x 2, 96kHz/24-Bit, USB and Optical S/PDIF (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXV4O6B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_lKemEbPZD4GBK
Get a nice pair of stereo speakers like one of these: Micca RB42 Reference Bookshelf Speaker with 4-Inch Woofer and Silk Tweeter (Dark Walnut, Pair) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JC416LG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_cNemEbZGAJ3HY Pioneer SP-BS22-LR Andrew Jones Home Audio Bookshelf Loudspeakers (Set of 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008NCD2LG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_RNemEbK6YX12D Klipsch R-41M Powerful detailed Bookshelf Home Speaker Set of 2 Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FKH3VPV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_BOemEbG6X6FAC

What outputs does your TV have? Does it have an optical or coaxial digital out? Using that would be preferable to TV RCA outputs if you're able to squeeze a component with its own DAC into the budget.
I'd look at a class D integrated amp (2x50w or a bit more) with a remote and some bookshelf speakers. Choice of Miccas, Pioneer BS21, etc. There's a couple models of Klipsch bookshelves you could sneak into the budget. High efficiency speakers would be good if you need to really jam out. klipsch1 klipsch2
Fosi Class D as example
Amp works as a BT target as a bonus feature.
I haven't heard this specific integrated amp but I do have an older Fosi 2x50w class D amp.link I wasn't very impressed when I had it hooked up to a laptop line out and Pioneer BS21s, but my opinion improved significantly when I fed the same amp and speakers from the pre-out of my Schiit Hel this spring, so if you give it a clean source the Fosi class D should do pretty well.

I can't speak to any of those, but for budget speakers that don't suck, I recommend:
The Elac Debut series:
Pioneer Andrew Jones:
or Klipsch Reference Series (This one might be a little controversial as many find the Klipsh tweeters a little harsh. I did too, at first. But you acclimate and come to appreciate it.)
All of these will benefit greatly from a subwoofer. But they'll still sound good on their own. So you can save up and add that later.

It's like a mini all in one stereo system. Here's a different direction for comparison
You would need to get another CD player or reuse the one they have, some speaker wire to connect the speakers to the receiver, and maybe an RCA cable( the red and white cord) which you may or may not have already, no idea what cable is used for that cd player to the bose
1 points • Dumb3rdoor
so my opinion on starting with a low budget is start with stereo (cheap amp, midrange speakers)
either stop there or follow a smart upgrade path (good reiceiver and center channel->subwoofer->good L/R channel and put the midrange priced speakers in the rear)

IMO, you can't go wrong with Klipsch. Then again, have been a huge fan of Klipsch for a very long time. Have a pair as B: on my main rig.
Klipsch R-41M $146.97
Klipsch R-15M Bookshelf Speaker $162.00

Skip powered speakers.
I just want to check. What turntable do you have? Is it one of those suitcases?
Edit: oh wait you said it's a pioneer. Okay.
So, you'll need a preamp for the turntable. One of these would he perfect.
Next you'll need an amp. Grab this SMSL SA50.
Finally, you'll need speakers. These Micca RB42s would be my choice, but you could also go with Fluances or Klipsch.

Ok, for a $350 "gaming" setup lets go.......
Speakers - https://www.amazon.com/JBL-Professional-Reference-Monitors-JBL104/dp/B07MHQZV62
Or https://www.amazon.com/Kanto-YU-Bookshelf-Bluetooth-Detection/dp/B084YZKVTB

Or you could go passive + amp which would be my suggestion.......

With this amp - https://www.amazon.com/Nobsound-TPA3116-Digital-Amplifier-Audiophile-Grade/dp/B07548PWQQ (or something similar)

Check out Acoustic energy Aego3/bar series: https://www.acoustic-energy.co.uk/product/aego%C2%B3/ - not sure if they sell them in the US though - they're about $250 (£200). It's a 65W subwoofer (compared to the 40W of your HK 595,)
I had the original Aego twenty years ago - it was a nice step up from a dell speaker set from 2001. It has a sub - which is essential if you're listening to techno (same taste here - detroit/minimal) and will need to be positioned right for best effect.
BUT while it will sound a bit nicer, it's probably not going be to what you're after (entertaining, volume that carries to other rooms, hard hitting bass) - very similar to my situation - you'll probably want more.
Building a modular system that you can upgrade later to suit your evolving taste, is a better move than a ready made 2.1 system as Grn716 suggests - if you can stretch the budget to $600 it'll go a whole lot further.
Something like this is a good start
$350 https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-R-100SW-10-Subwoofer/dp/B07FKH9ZDC/
$500 https://www.svsound.com/products/sb-1000
pair them with $149 speakers like these
https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-R-41M-Powerful-Detailed-Bookshelf/dp/B07FKH3VPV
https://www.svsound.com/products/prime-satellite

and a $100-200 amp
If you really want bass - get a proper $1000+ subwoofer, from a company like SVS (USA) - more bass than you'll ever need and one of those will last you a lifetime. I've had mine for nearly fifteen years. It moves the sofa if I crank it up.

Yes, 5 Klipsch speakers for an average bedroom sizes area. If I guessed room size, 20ft by 15ft. In total I've spent about $1200, so I guess that's my budget. Yes, the speakers are passive. I'm not entirely sure how to upload photos.

The turntable includes an RCA cable to connect to the receiver.
Speaker wire: Pure Copper Oxygen Free Speaker Wire or cheaper Basic CCA then 4 Ways to Strip Wire. Optionally add banana plugs if the speakers and amp or receiver have 5 way binding posts. Already with banana plugs, AmazonBasics or Crutchfield.
Audio Setup Guides and Accessories. Also check out r/BudgetAudiophile.
Did everything ship yet?
Sherwood RX4508 for $169? Sony STRDH190 $149 adds adjustable phono level gain and costs less.
4" Klipsch R-41M $160 for a small room? Larger 5" speakers for less cost, Polk S15 ~~$229~~ $139. Or for $40 more Jamo S 807 Walnut ~~$449~~ $199 tower speakers then you don't need to build or buy $60+ speaker stands.
Alternative to the Debut Carbon for $125 less, Fluance RT82 $275 ($25 off coupon code "Review25"). It adds auto stop and then an optical sensor speed controlled servo motor for low wow and flutter and speed variation. Pass on the older RT81 that lacks the new speed sensor. Pass on the RT83 since the 2M Red cartridge is not any better than the previous version OM10 on the RT82.
