Just breath out of your mouth. I had the same issue so I decided to go the Kiwi face cover with the vents on top.

After getting frustrated w the sweaty silicone cover being too loose and foggy lenses in beat saber, I bought this upgrade earlier today...kiwi cover with air vents and two PU covers... seems better overall, but also costs more.

I got this Kiwi face interface for my Quest. It’s ventilated so I never get fogged lenses. And the pad is sweat-proof and easy to wipe down. Recommended!

I recently got the DAS also for my quest + 3D printed attachments for a more “oe” aesthetic. I was in big screen chatting for hours with someone (plugged into at this point) and did not feel uncomfortable at all! Love how easy it is to adjust the tightness.

Deluxe audio? Not sure I can agree with it if you’re an audiophile of any sort, but definitely an upgrade over no headphones. Sound is very isolating a headphone that is over ear and doesn’t have any sound cancellations tech.

Would definitely recommend this modification. Also bought kiwi face cushion (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082X2TQXS/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_i_A0aeFbZ86G4CT ) and that also increased the comfort level.

Stop vaping. Kidding, I use the kiwi vented face mask. I ordered from the kiwi website but it took along time to come due to covid. Here's Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082X2TQXS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_0aD4EbFTT24BW

Take a look at kiwi face cover https://www.amazon.com/KIWI-design-Replacement-Anti-Leakage-Accessories/dp/B082X2TQXS It has ventilation holes, so lenses will fog less.

Quest Comfort Mod with 0% pressure on cheeks!!

The Oculus quest is an amazing VR headset. With wireless capabilities and the flexibility to use a link cable for PC VR games, I honestly think its the best VR unit in the market.

However, it is common knowledge that the Oculus Quest is not the most comfortable headset. I really like my Quest but the pressure it puts on the face and cheeks is really unbearable at times. This is mainly due to the headstrap design since it acts like a vise between the front and the back side of your head.

Thus, I have been on a "quest" to find comfortable mods that take away pressure from the face and redistribute it over the head. I'd like to think I've tried it all (short of getting a Vive DAS). Head straps, face interfaces, back covers, etc. And from all my testing, this is the final build of my Quest.

My final Oculus Quest Build (for now)

The build is comprised of the base Oculus Quest unit and the following:

Go Quest VR Halo Strap - moves the weight to the forehead

Kiwi Design Face Interface - used for the vents to prevent the lens from fogging

ReBuff Reality VR Shell - protects the Quest unit but mainly aesthetic

At first the Halo strap was promising but I encountered this problem:

It still puts pressure on the cheeks

Wearing it would still put pressure on the face since it would just swivel down. There is a strap included which you can attach to the top of the Quest to pull it up and attach to velcro behind the back unit. I didn't like this since it ruined the clean look and and it just made things more complicated.

After further studying the design, I realized that there were two hinges supporting the Quest. I figured I could just "fix" the one on the Halo strap so that the Quest wont swivel down. I would still have another hinge if I needed to make adjustments.

Gluing the hinge while making sure the unit provided an image in focus

I have to say the fix worked very well and I don't need the additional strap anymore.

The Quest is now fully supported and strap free

I have been using this setup the past few days playing HL: Alyx and its been great! No more pressure on my face. I have to admit that there is now more pressure on my forehead, but this way is better. The weight has to go somewhere.

So I highly recommend this if you want to alleviate pressure from your face while using the Quest. It is a much cheaper alternative to the $100 Vive DAS and a lot simpler.

If you have any questions, how to setup/dial in the Halo strap, let me know!

I've included links to the mods below:

Bonus:

The new build didn't fit in my old case, but I realized that the Halo strap is based on the Rift S design, so I picked up a Rift S case...

Hey I live in a cold house with no heat. Warming it up will help but I’ve found this facemask with vents pretty much eliminates it.
I do lots of sweaty table tennis and have no issues.

Today I ordered an AMVR Headband and KIWI face cover. Together it’s a little over ~$50.

Going to post my thoughts on that combo when they deliver here in the next three days.

Kiwi face cover

Head strap

Silicone face cover (I prefer Kiwi cover but this is decent for workouts)

You WILL sweat more than normal with the silicone face cover. I bought 2 silicone covers just so I could quickly swap if using it with other people. The head strap and either of the face covers will allow you to game for an hour comfortably, no more pain on the forehead.

Currently, I've got the following on my Quest:

Esimen Adjustable Head Strap

The stock strap was just too uncomfortable for me and the DAS/Frankenquest mod had its own share of issues and never felt sufficiently comfortable. I've always preferred the halo design and this is the closest thing to it. I got the strap via Amazon Prime so I received free shipping and had a 30 day return window in case I did not like it. I've had it for about two months now and it seems to be holding up well.

KIWI Design Facial Interface

This hard plastic facial interface with pleather cushions looks good, feels sufficiently comfortable and is easy to keep clean. The nose guard is not well designed and I do not use it but other than that I'm quite happy with it. I also had the AMVR kit but the KIWI version seems to mate better to the Quest.

Deadeye Wrist Straps

The stock wrist straps on the Touch controllers are pretty useless as they bands are smooth and there is no friction for the stops to bite against. The Deadeye straps are very similar in their design and feel to the PS4 Move straps and make the Touch controllers feel much, much more securely attached to my hands.

here are my top suggestions:

  1. this PU leather facial interface from Kiwi Design is great for improving comfort and hygiene, with a venting system on top I've never fogged the lenses with this thing during intense play sessions. it also comes with a lens cover and an anti light leak nose cover.
  2. the AMVR back head strap is great for revealing some of the back and front head pressure that most people have when using it for an extended period of time, plus it's just comfy.
  3. another one from AMVR, it's the anti throw / protective sleeving for the touch controllers. this solves two problems, the battery cover won't slide out during game-play and it gives you a knuckles like strap that's great to have for increased immersion.
  4. lastly, this anker battery bank is nice and small for a 10,000 mAh battery (also hefty for the size) that will be easy to strap to the back of the headset with some velcro straps. combine it with a 1.5 ft quick charging cable and you will be able to play for a long time

The DAS is really worth the upgrade in my opinion. Getting all this stuff was expensive but has made using VR for longer periods of time more possible. It would be so heavy and hot after a couple hours. Now I've gone 2 full days using the headset. Be sure to get eye drops too lol.

I totally get you. I just turned 37 yesterday, and only just convinced my wife a month ago that it was a good time to finally upgrade my PS4 to Pro and get a PSVR.

I just happened to be watching a PSVR Youtube video yesterday and they started making comparisons to the Quest. I hadn't looked into the Rift since the OG one, and I wasn't sure if my laptop could handle PCVR, but I decided to check out prices anyway. Not even 5 minutes later, I had the last 128 gig version in stock (at the time I guess, it's been sporadic). I didn't realize how quickly they had been selling out, so I quickly prepared a small speech in my head to convince my wife to let me get this too.

As it turns out, I married the right woman, it didn't take much and I'm sitting here like I'm 6, it's Christmas Eve and I KNOW I'm getting that Super Nintendo!

As for accessories...well, I've definitely been splurging there. I've done a fair bit of research so far, and made quite a few purchases already (some will get here before the Quest, some after). A lot of the choices on accessories will really fall on your on personal comfort and needs, but if it helps, here's what I have coming my way, lol:

Earbuds (Definitely personal preference here)

Facial Interface (Read a lot of reviews stating the vents really help)

Link Cable (Jumped the gun and ordered it before I knew about Virtual Desktop, but it will be good to have as a backup anyway)

Headband Cushion (Another personal preference)

Protective Case (This one came with some other accessories that you may find handy as a bonus)

VR Shell (Not only to help protect it, but to keep it clean, I hear the Quest is a bit of a dirt magnet. You can buy this with the battery pack, AFAIK it's from the same company, but I chose Amazon for faster shipping)

VR Power (Battery pack, you can cheap out here, but this one is pretty stand out and tailor made for VR)

Probably going to get this Infrared Illuminator as well.

I'm thinking eventually I'll get a rifle stock controller mount for FPS games, it helped a bunch with PSVR and my AIM controller.

Let's see, what else....oh, consider a cheap fan to place in your room as a constant reminder of your orientation in the room. As for your glasses, IIRC the Quest comes with an insert to accommodate glasses, but not sure how it works with 3rd party visors attached.
