Searching For Large Enough Backpack

I require help in finding a large enough backpack that will fit my 17.3” laptop as well as the massive 16x14 cooling board . It will probably have to be a rectangular design because it needs to be at least 14in. In width up the entire backpack.

Wait for thunderbolt 4 to come and then drop to your preferred price point then external card rigs should make you as future proof as a desktop. If you buy one tier below top you probably can squeeze 4 good years out. TB3 might do the external thing but don't sweat it this time around. https://www.amazon.com/IETS-Cooling-Flexible-Colorful-Adjustable/dp/B07WVK2ZZ9 is well regarded cooling pad that arrived ahead of my new machine but I am optimistic. If the WD blue has SSD health software I'd look into how useful that is.

I tried 3 different kinds on my ge66.The only one that made any difference was this one https://www.amazon.com/IETS-Cooling-Flexible-Colorful-Adjustable/dp/B07WVK2ZZ9..But even that was barely any decrease. The best temp reduction I've found so far is from a regular old aluminum laptop stand with open spaces to give the bottom intake vents air flow.I get about 10c cooler with just the stand then any pad I tried.

Try out a stand and just make sure theres good air flow.

I have the Dell XPS 17" (9700) model and have noticed too how easy it is to get those fans spinning fast! What I did was ordered a Laptop Cooling Pad from Amazon. It has helped a lot with keeping your CPU cooler by 10 to 20 degrees Celsius! That should help your laptop from throttling you down as long as you don't keep the ambient temperature in your room high!

Yeah, it is good, I can crank most games (Forza Horizon 4, War Thunder, GTAV, warzone, Risk of Rain, etc) to ultra and still get 60+ fps.

But, beware because gaming laptops overheat (99c on CPU) so I'd recommend a cooling pad to prevent it.

I'd recommend a laptop If you NEED mobility, but if you mostly are gonna game at home, definitely build a pc.

It's one of the more expensive coolers, but the blower is a lot stronger than normal pads.

This is amazing it has a seal that forces air from the two blowers.... not fans and the air goes through filters. It is better than any of the other four cooling Pads I have tried. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07WVK2ZZ9?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

I haven't received mine yet (nor my laptop yet either lol) but it looks promising. Unlike your normal fan cooling pad, this creates a sealed airflow chamber beneath the laptop, effectively acting as like an extra pocket heat sink or something if you seal it right. As well it has filters that keep dust out of your fans, great if you have pets. The reviews on Amazon say it is way more effective then traditional pads, which with it's unique design, I hope it's true.

This is the cooling pad, there’s 2 companies that make it, but they’re the same price and stats and look identical. They aren’t cheap though.

This cooler is a beast, simply the best cooler out there. Got my temps from95 C to 82C around 25 %fps increase. I was under clocking my laptop to keep temps below 90. Rn i am considering overclocking up to 88C lmao

I've played everything on max settings, some games are just more optimized than others. Re2 can be played with turbo mode disabled and at 60fps/1440p. Pretty steady too. I was using my old 32" samsung to watch a guide, while playing on my 1440p monitor. With gpuz/throttlestop on my laptop screen to check performance. It was glorious. I'd recommend this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WVK2ZZ9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_y5OMFbQXBB6SX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

It should help with your fan noise, along with a ic diamond repaste. It does get somewhat loud on the highest setting, but it's also effective enough to not need coolerboost all the time.

I’ve have about 5 different cooling pads right now and this is by far the best I’ve owned. Only major downside is it’s pretty loud on any setting but the lowest. Also only works well on bottom ventilated laptops. It creates a seal and has powerful fans. I love it on my gs66 IETS GT300 Double Blower Laptop... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WVK2ZZ9?

In Nvidia control panel setting max frames to 60, changing power management mode to "Prefer consistent performance", and setting Virtual Reality pre-rendered frames to 2

Paired with ThrottleStop Speed Shift EPP set to 130, set Balanced profile, under TPL adjusted Turbo boost Long and Short Power max from 70 to 60 and 135 to 125 respectively. Significantly reduced temps. In HWinfo Core Max dropped from 102 to 93 and CPU package dropped from 100 to 84 during gaming bench. All cores reached 4.2k MHz, no cores thermal throttled, Package/Ring did however thermal throttle.

I should mention I'm using this laptop cooler which works surprisingly well (contrary to most beliefs that coolers do nothing) with the XPS 15 9500, two 4500rpm blowers feeding fresh air beneath and the rubber gromit creates a good seal. Before any adjustments temps were lowered 2-4C in Cinebench.

I'm horrible at Reddit codes, so I'm just going to make references here. Vinny933PC is one of the few Ryzen 9 4900H owners in these forums and swears by the following laptop cooler:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WVK2ZZ9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_Zuf2Fb64RJV2B?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Having the sealed environment to force air might be the best solution, as I'm able to reduce about 10C with a poorly-sealed (due to poor exhaust vent placement) vacuum cooler. Vinny claimed the linked cooler reduced his temps by 30C in Doom Eternal. Might be well worth looking into for people who are trying to get every last frame or venturing into the GPU overclock world.

I've ordered https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WVK2ZZ9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but I'm not sure if the laptop depth is a little shorter than the seal - depend on how much the seal sticks up as the front, bottom lip is angled/sloped. I'll post back when I get it.

I think the key is to have the fans under the vent holes, they are almost 18 CM apart from the inside measurement and measure 25 CM between the outer edges plus another vent that is centered and 2 to 3.5 CM below the first two. I haven't found one with fans in this configuration yet.

I can tell you that having air feed into the laptop does lower temperatures and increase performance. I have this filter, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073WJL99W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, and I've placed the laptop on top it it. Running Folding@home as it stresses the system. Laptop holds itself to 90C and reduces the Mhz of the processor. Folding@home establishes a score for daily contributions. After I place it on the filter/fan it takes a couple of minutes to start dropping the temperature and eventually settles in at 78C and the score on folding@home goes up about 20%. folding@home uses the cpu and both GPUs.
