I think I've found what you're talking about. HyperX Cloud II, right? This is defiantly in the budget. Do I need to do anything with software, or if I buy these, can I just plug and play?

Probably your best bet is going to be from 3.5mm pair I would think.

I think there is a setting is most sound drivers that allows you to split the headphone jack from the speaker jack.

That said, I know the HyperX Cloud headsets are popular for this sort of thing. There is one with an included USB dongle https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-KHX-HSCP-RD/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=cloud+headset+usb&qid=1578172002&sr=8-3

I use a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3, that I got for my home office. They’re really nice, but there are other options that work really well. My brother in law uses these and they sound really good too. Beyond that you’d have to look up reviews.

I bought these HyperX headphones for my Xbox One X and they are amazing for Quest too. Super clear and crisp sounds and I don't have to blast the volume to hear small effects like footsteps in Pavlov.

1) Today was the first day, I went no-poo and I conditioned my hair and added styling gel. I realized after diffusing that the curls on my hair were pretty defined and looked nice but my hair itself is still dull, dry and a bit frizzy.

I did not do the reset wash yet (waiting for the product to ship) but I'm thinking either it's because of that or that I didn't use enough conditioner (or gel?) to prevent the dryness/frizz?

Would either of those contribute to that? I know I am still very curly in the process. I'm just curious on what I could be doing wrong and what to improve.

2) I have a habit of tying up my hair when I'm doing work or need to focus, how bad is this for curly hair?

3) I wear huge headphones for work. I'm thinking now these might weigh down my curly hair on top when wearing them. Should I go again and buy regular earphones instead because of this or should this not be a major issue? (These are the ones I wear: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG?ref=emc_p_m_5_i)

Wow! Things got serious right now lol. Purchasing power is our bleeding wound. I really wonder should your economic situation be very good to be able to afford this? Because same headset's price is equal to %37 of Turkey minimum wage. Can you image that?

Edit: There is no minimum hourly wage in Turkey. The amount I stated is the total amount of money you will receive at the end of the month. It's fixed!

I generally would recommend headphones and an attachable microphone such as antlion modmic but if you're set on a headset then;

$80 right now, on sale for $70 a lot, sometimes for $60.

To take care of it you really just need to be careful with the cords. Taking it on/off and when you wrap it up to take it places.

HyperX Cloud II all the way. I’ve had both the HyperX Cloud I and II and can say that these are quality at affordable price. I mainly use the headset for Xbox paired with a Turtle Beach adaptor so I can have mic monitoring and volume control between chat and game. The HyperX also comes with adaptor to use with Pc so swapping over to play on the rig is seamless with plug and play.

These headphones also come with a two year warranty and the one time I had to reach out to customer service, Hyper I mic went out, I was pleasantly surprised. Actually ended up receiving a whole headset.

I’ve got the link to amazon below. Let me know if I can answer any other questions! Good luck on the search!

however if you can spend 150$ the arctis 7ps is possibly the best headset you can get for the console

Try the hyper X Cloud II. I have had mine for at least 6-7 years and the size adjuster doesnt even hold anymore because I've used them so much Ive had to duck tape it to hold. Sound quality is pretty solid, mic is detachable, simulated 7.1 surround sound through the sound card in the usb cord if you like using it, I have used it both on and off. Headset is pretty comfortable and the best part is I got them on sale on amazon for like 70 bucks. I'm gonna need another pair of these soon once my current one falls apart. Many friends I have recommended to get this headset and every one that has loves it. Easily the best budget "gaming" headset I have ever used and replacement parts like new padding or a microphone dongle or new cords are all available on amazon or the hyperx website.

Here is the amazon link to them if anyone is interested

This It’s the headset I have. The HyperX Cloud II. It’s currently $90.42 on Amazon. I’m no a “pro” gamer but I do like playing competitively. It gets the job done and more. It has surround sound and the audio quality is superb. The mic also quite good. You can look at the reviews if you’re not convinced.

Need help deciding on a headset

Hello all,

I finished my build about a month ago and have been gaming on it ever since. It’s been a great experience so far and a nice upgrade from my ps4.

I have been using my PlayStation gold wireless headset but am now looking to upgrade. I play a lot of first person shooters online and I also listen to music so I need something with great audio along with a good mic.

I have narrowed my research down to two choices and I need help deciding on which one would be better for me being as my budget is $100.

My two choices are the Hyperx Cloud 2 and the Sennheiser GSP 300 which are $99 and $82 on amazon right now respectively.

Any advice and or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm surprised you haven't mentioned the incredibly popular Kingston HyperX Cloud II. The software surround on these is supposed to be quite good.

Or their wireless equivalent, the HyperX Cloud Flight

What kind of games are you playing right now? It kind of depends on what you want.

These were my favorite for a long time. However, since I found this sub and r/headphones, I was introduced to a new world, haha.

I'm currently running ATHM50X's with a Blue Yeti mic.

I just ordered at DT 990 PRO because I was curious about Beyerdynamic's products. Check out the ATH700x's too. You can grab an Antlion Modmic for these. Keep in mind these are open back headphones.

It’s a bit of personal preference really. And not many people consider it beyond hooking their headphones or speakers directly to the motherboard, so there isn’t a lot to choose from. This is my personal setup:

https://www.newegg.com/creative-sound-blaster-z/p/N82E16829102048

https://www.klipsch.com/products/klipsch-promedia-2-1-thx-certified-computer-speaker

When my wife is watching tv I use these:

https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-KHX-HSCP-RD/dp/B00SAYCXWG

If you are using a usb headset or audio through hdmi a sound card won’t benefit you at all.

Here are some options for a usb sound card (or DAC (digital analog converter)) again these will be just for hooking speakers up. Another option for speakers is to look for “powered monitor” type speakers. I’m not wealthy so I don’t have any experience with them. You will have to look at reviews to find good ones.

Hyper X Cloud 2's, Beyerdynamic MMX300 (2nd Gen), or Sennheiser PC37x are really the only ones I'd endorse. What is your budget and where are you from?

Honestly, it's hard to beat the HyperX Cloud in the budget range.

https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-KHX-HSCP-RD/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=HyperX+Cloud&qid=1597942516&sr=8-2

HyperX has been doing a good job of partnering with other vendors to produce good sounding headphones under their brand.

If you're more music oriented, the Phillips SHP9500 + V-Moda BoomPro is a fantastic combo when the 9500s are on sale, but it might push your budget a tiny bit.

HyperX Cloud II are solid performers. I know lots of people that use them. Get a pair, you want regret it. They can be had for less than $60 on sale. Watch for Cyber Monday sales and see what you can find.

Both pairs are a few years old. I don't think they are sold anymore but I don't see why any over ear headphones wouldn't fit they way PSVR is designed.

These are the ones I'm using.

I have the Astro Zelda and found that the hyperx headset is much better. I've also tried the Mpow EG3 and found that it is on par sound wise as the Astro but far more comfortable.

The hyper x was a game changer for me. 7.1 surround is hard to beat. I found it on sale during black friday and I see it often on Amazon daily deals. The only issue that I have with it is it doesn't have a mic on/off. I had to buy an adapter for PS4

I've gone through turtlebeach, razor, logitech, and finally settled for Hyper X Cloud 2 and always had issues with each one. TurtleBeach and Razor I had issues with the cord snapping and sound issues; logitech (wireless) I liked the most but it was mostly plastic which kept snapping on me in less than 6 months (bought twice before moving on). Hyper X has a braided cord and haven't had any issues in the ~4+ years I've been using them now.

I've liked them so much I bought 3 of them (1 for home, 1 for work, 1 for relative).

I can’t say I know when the sale ends.. but I can recommend a few that are good:

HyperX Cloud II - Gaming Headset, 7.1 Surround Sound, Memory Foam Ear Pads, Durable Aluminum Frame, Detachable Microphone, Works with PC, PS4, Xbox One - Red https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9z3PEbZFENCJM

Had these bad boys for awhile although I know they’re in a pricey range but! If you can get them on sale these are the best bang for your buck

SteelSeries Arctis 5 - RGB Illuminated Gaming Headset with DTS Headphone:X v2.0 Surround - For PC and PlayStation 4 - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FZQJ8PY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KK3PEb7G03WQP

These aren’t the best on sound quality (drivers NEED an update) and comfort is unique at first.. but as soon as you get a feel for them you can play 5 hours straight and your head won’t even notice they’re there.

Logitech G Pro Gaming Headset, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PHML2XB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_GN3PEb4HH2642

These are my current headphones after the HyperX ones and I’m still debating on which ones I like but these definitely have a good mic, nice sound, and are comfy.

As for keyboards, HyperX have nice ones and Razer but in all honesty, the best thing to do is go get a feel for one in person. Keyboards have different layouts so it’s a different feel for everybody. Just take whatever fits your hand comfortably.

Personally, I'm getting the MM710. The choice between the 710 and 711 models basically narrows down to either if you want looks and ease of use over performance, or vice versa.

||MM710|MM711| |:-|:-|:-| |Pros|Weighs 53 grams, approximately 7 grams lighter than the MM711.|Has RGB, more balanced weight. Newer model with patched issues that early MM710 mice had.| |Cons|Early releases/models of the MM710 mouse had some creaking issues, post travel problems, and potential activation of the side buttons when pressing the shell too hard. No RGB. |Is 60 grams compared to the 53 grams of the MM710. Some have the same side button activation issue when squeezing or pressing on the shell too hard.|

If you want to go for performance, then get yourself a nice MM710 on Amazon. If you want to go for a more stylish (perhaps more usable) mouse, go for the MM711, also on Amazon.

Albeit, there is one thing I cannot recommend, which are most pairs of "gaming" headphones. Most, if not; all "gaming" headphones have the tendency to break without even reaching a full year of use >!(Note: Do NOT use SteelSeries headphones, their headphones very frequently have soldering issues) !<and are generally more overpriced than some professional-quality studio and/or monitoring headphones. Another factor is what you're going to need most in the headphones.

 • A larger soundstage = Open back headphones.
 • Sound isolation = Closed back headphones.
 • Neutral sound = Studio/monitoring headphones.
 • Personal listening (V-Shaped sound; vivid frequencies) = Audiophile Headphones
 • Mixed (mostly personal listening and neutral sound together) = DJ Headphones

However, if the mic is absolutely crucial, then it would of course be better to get a separate microphone. A great set of headphones and a microphone on a budget (which total to about $120 more or less) would be the ATH-AD500x and the Blue Snowball iCE. But, to answer your question: Yes, the HyperX Cloud Alpha is indeed a great pair of gaming headphones. They are reliable, sturdy, have great sound quality, and the microphone is clear. If you wish, go ahead and pull the trigger on them. If you want another great gaming headset, check out the HyperX Cloud Revolver S. I have heard nothing but great things about them, and many articles and reviewers say it is the best gaming headset on the market right now.

TL;DR: MM710 is better for performance, MM711 is more stylish. Your choice of headphones depends on what you really need them for. If you're dead set on getting gaming headphones, get the HyperX Cloud Alpha or HyperX Cloud Revolver S. Alternatively, if your budget is more wide seek a pair of professional headphones as well as a nice microphone to go along with it (preferably a USB mic.)
