I’ve loved this HP monitor, it has speakers that are surprisingly good, good ports for everything, and a good display for the price. You're gonna be at this for a while, would strongly advise asking your boss if you can go get it or order one. Most basic 23-27" monitors will suffice and be far better than a laptop screen. Here's one example for $110

I currently have a couple of these for side monitors. HP 24" 1080p 60hz and can rotate vertically (assuming that's what you meant.) No issues in a few years and $110 on amazon

For around $100 you can get a cheap 24" 1080p monitor. I have this one:

Ok so I can order it at $70 after tax/rebate.
Are there any monitor people that can tell me if itd be an upgrade from this https://www.amazon.com/HP-23-8-inch-Adjustment-Speakers-VH240a/dp/B072M34RQC
I dont play super competitive games. I do play hell let loose and some other shooter type games but color is important to me. I mostly play like hearts of iron and fallout. Hell let loose fluctuates frames so much I would cap my fps at like 60. I wouldnt be driving 144hz in most my games but I would appreciate freesync and it would be nice to try 144 in some games. I dont really understand all the monitor specs.
My pc is 90% gaming tho

I like this one, but the speakers are pretty bad (as are all monitor speakers). It's main selling point is it's price and aesthetics. It's a 1080p monitor for $110 and it's super slim with hardly any bezels. It has a 14s response time which is bad for a monitor but pretty good for a TV but again, $110, and since you'll be playing a PS4 on it it's not like you'll notice it. Lastly, as an IPS display, it's colors are pretty good.

I'm planning on buying a new monitor from amazon but it says "Item arrives in packaging that shows what’s inside and can’t be hidden".
Does this mean it's going to only have the manufacture's box that tells everyone it's a monitor?

I’m looking for a second monitor to use vertically. Most cheaper than this seem pretty crappy (non IPS, 60hz). Is this the best value for a 24” monitor?
Anyone know about this HP one?

Choosing a monitor. So currently I am editing on a 2017 13in macbook pro but I would like a nice external display to connect my laptop to. Im not really looking to break the bank and I came across this HP VH240a I was wondering if this would be a good external display. I know it may not be as good as my current laptop but I would like something bigger and affordable to work on. Looking for suggestions thank you.

Currently I have an HP monitor with 1080p and 60 hertz refresh rate. I’m wondering if it’s good enough and how I can get the most out of it until I can afford a 4K monitor. Here is the monitor in question for anyone curious.

Any opinions on this one? It appears to be highly regarded and I like the price, reviews, mobility, but do you think the lack of FreeSync is a dealbreaker? https://www.amazon.com/HP-23-8-inch-Adjustment-Speakers-VH240a/dp/B072M34RQC/

Hey there!
From personal experience, you don't need to spend a lot of money for good color accuracy. The entry level HP IPS monitors work fantastic. It's the only monitors I've ever used my entire career and my prints look practically identical to my monitor. I seriously don't know why anyone needs anything more expensive.
Here's the current one I'm using. I got it about a year ago to replace my main. it's slightly clearer and brighter than my old one. It's fantastic. main monitor
If you want to spend less, my first Photography monitor was the series below. I'm sure they're still great. first series monitor
Personally, I'd get the first one above. You don't need to spend $400.
Good luck!

the only real change I would make is buy a ryzen 1600AF , its basically a 2600 for $85 and so long as you aren't playing rts games a TV and controller set up isn't awful but in shooter games you will be at a pretty steep disadvantage. If you do want monitor this cheap Hp one is pretty good https://www.amazon.com/HP-23-8-inch-Adjustment-Speakers-VH240a/dp/B072M34RQC/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=monitor&qid=1583814610&sr=8-3

First time builder, gaming PC won't connect to monitor
This is my first time building a PC, and after putting all the parts together, the computer starts, however it won't connect to my monitor. When I start the pc, all the fans spin (the GPU fans spin at start up and then idle after about a minute) and there are no flashing lights on the motherboard or beeps, so I don't think anything was put together incorrectly.
Just a quick note, I bought the screen to help WFH at the start of the pandemic before I decided to buy a pc, so when I put together the parts list, I had assumed the monitor would be compatible. It has a VGA and an HDMI port. The GPU has DisplayPort and an HDMI port and the motherboard has HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort and DVI ports. I've tried every type of connection to the screen; HDMI-to-HDMI from GPU to screen, DisplayPort-to-HDMI from GPU to screen with a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter, DisplayPort-to-VGA from GPU to screen with an DP-to-VGA adapter, HDMI-to-VGA from the GPU to screen with a HDMI-to-VGA adapter. Nothing works, the screen just constantly says "No Signal Found". I've even tried connecting to the screen to the motherboard even though there's no integrated graphics card because I'm desperate to get this to work.
Please give me some advice on this, it has been very frustrating having a computer that works but I can't do anything with it.
These are the parts I used:

So I am a web developer, my new company is sending me 3 monitors.

This is the monitors: https://www.amazon.com/HP-23-8-inch-Adjustment-Speakers-VH240a/dp/B072M34RQC

I need help from everyone here, I never had anymore than one old monitor (from 2007) and I am now gonna have 3. I live in a small apartment and my room is small, it would be very hard to fit a 70+ inch desk for 3 of these 23.8 inch monitors

How do I go about setting this up correctly? Do I need a triple monitor stand? If so, which do I get?

Also can you show me some good desks I should buy or tell me what size is best to handle 3 monitors comfortably? I have a small apartment so I don't know how I can fit 3 monitors on a smaller desk and how small the size of that desk can be.

Looking for a 24" 1080p monitor as a second monitor to go with my AOC 24G2- right now I'm looking at the BenQ GW2480, the HP V240A, and the AOC 24B2XH. Does anyone have any advice regarding these three monitors, and are there any other monitors I should look into? Thanks.

I'm actually mainly curious about the differences between the LG 34GK950G & 34GK950F, specifically how the -G justifies a higher price if, by all accounts, -F is supposedly more preferable or otherwise mostly the same anyway? Is it the Sphere Lighting?
Also, say I do choose something like the LG 34GK950F and I only have a GTX 1060 (I assume underpowered), does this just mean that the monitor won't be able to be run to its full potential - but will otherwise still technically work? Assuming it still works, then I wouldn't feel any rush to upgrade my GPU. But I also wouldn't mind having to upgrade if needed.
---
In any case, I'm looking for a curved ultra-wide, perhaps 34", at least 1440p. I suppose it's mainly for productivity - mostly the desire of have more space within a single monitor. I'm currently working with a few of these cheap HP monitors which I actually REALLY like already (I guess that tells you where my standards currently are). What I'd really LIKE (not NEED) to upgrade is the overall image quality (resolution, color, etc.) At least something respectable, if that means anything - ie. if I'm spending most of my time staring at a monitor, I just hope it looks good. Also, I know something like HDR 400 is more a marketing-term, but in any case... I suppose it couldn't hurt, right? At the very least, I'd like it to be somewhat brighter than normal (350+ nits?). Nor do I aggressively game at all, so I'm fine with some middle-of-the-road refresh rate like 90-100. Same with the response-rate, as long as it's not like gaming on a TV.
All that somehow led me to the 34GK950F (and using this partpicker). I know I don't actually need a lot of features, but I've already gone down the rabbit hole and suppose I'm open to a $1,000 max budget. I already know this is overkill for my current needs and standards (and probably what I can run to its full potential), but I'm okay with going a bit overkill. Also, I'm not necessarily set on the 34GK950F, just that it seems like, from what I've seen so far, the best there is within my arbitrary $1,000 budget. Also, I prefer it's more subdued look, compared to the gamer-y aesthetic of the other gaming-focused brands.
Thanks!

Thanks man. Still getting it together with cable management and my desktop PC soon but I’m really happy with it. I recommend sit/stand desks for everyone. Also, I saved about $300 building it myself compared to the Jarvis Fully Desk (and thousands more compared to top of the line desks).

I use this setup for programming, engineering schematic design, occasional gaming on Bootcamp (which is fantastic btw). When my desktop + 2 monitors are here, I’ll need a bigger desk top so the dual-motor option on the legs was a must (220lb capacity).

For that budget you can’t go wrong with pretty much any 1080p IPS monitor (1080p being the resolution and IPS being the panel type).
This HP monitor seems good.
If you have an older MacBook Air with Mini DisplayPort, you’ll want an adapter like this one. You’ll know if you have one of these if your charger is magnetic and the Apple logo glows.
If you have one of the newer MacBook Airs, you’ll want an adapter like this and any HDMI cable you can find. You’ll know if you have a new one if the Apple logo is a mirror finish and your charger plugs in all the way.

Of course, here ill list with links below:
Monitors - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072M34RQC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Keyboard (Corsair K65 RBG) - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F74F00I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Mousepad (Corsair Polaris) - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZ2SET7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My mouse is also a corsair mouse so all these work together with their lighting software, so like when I click or type on the keyboard I have a ripple effect that goes purple -> pink across all the devices which is nice
The LEDs on the desk as well are rgb + voice controlled through google home, as well as the other lamps in the room
The chair though honestly is kind of bad. The compressed air chamber that controls the height broke within months of buying it, so I wouldn't suggest it. I plan on getting a new one soon, plus I think its been discontinued

If you are looking for a 21 inch monitor, I highly recommend this one. It comes it under your budget, has an hdmi port, but no audio jack. If you are looking to add external audio, you can either push it through your mac or the monitor.
If you are looking for something a bigger, I would recommend this 24 inch HP monitor. It has a little bit bigger base which means it'll take up more room on your desk, but the extra screen real estate will definitely make a difference.
If you are looking to get anything bigger, I would be cautious because 1080p at 27 inches isn't super clear. The text becomes pixelated and stuff. This is the cheapest 1440p panel I can find. I know it's a little above your price point, but the extra screen real estate will definitely make a difference in creative work and text. It also allows you to use more applications on one screen.
All of these monitors will come with their own HDMI cable so you shouldn't worry about that, but your computer (depending on the specs) my run a little hot if you are zooming on the computer and also running other stuff.
An even bigger monitor you can purchase is this one. It comes in under your price points, but personally, it's an eyesore to look at. I don't like the thick bezels underneath nor the wide stance. But if you are looking to purchase more screens for a cheaper price than the 24 inch monitor listed above, this isn't a bad option.

just wondering if you have a reason to get a monitor instead of a tv? a tv would be cheaper for the size, generally.
i use two of these 24" monitors at work: https://www.amazon.com/HP-23-8-inch-Adjustment-Speakers-VH240a/dp/B072M34RQC/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=monitor+hp+vh240&qid=1589911045&sr=8-2
