I have the same processor and have this as a motherboard. I have had 0 issues with it. I dual boot arch linux and windows 10. I do not use WIFI or BT so I cant comment on that. The audio has been fine.

How poor is the Gigabyte Aorus Elite? That's what I've found so far that meets my minimum reqs (USBC and multiple nvme gen 4 m.2 drives).

I'll look into your two recommendations, thanks!

Oh damn. That’s not good. Thanks for informing me. Will look for a different board now.

Edit: Is this an ok board? It doesn’t have Bluetooth 5.0 https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-X570-AORUS-802-11AC-Motherboard/dp/B07WL5MFXL

You say you're looking for price/perf on a 3600/3700, and many of your selections are overkill, especially on a 3600. If you want to get the best value for your $$, you absolutely do not need a motherboard that costs more than your CPU.

If you want an X570 board, something like Gigabyte Aorus X570 Elite Wifi is only $190 right now and more than sufficient for your CPU, and even if you don't need the wifi it's on sale right now for cheaper than non-wifi.

They make one with wifi! https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-X570-AORUS-802-11AC-Motherboard/dp/B07WL5MFXL

This is the cheapest one I could find but I didn't look very hard ha. I'm sure you would be able to find one that may be a little cheaper.

Through a wired connection or adding in a wireless card. This is the board I'd probably recommend at this point

My recommendation is the gigabyte x570 auros elite (there's a wifi version) got all the basics right and top notch vrm.

Edit: This is what I got excellent for 200 usd unless you are looking to overclock a lot there's better options with cmos reset buttons etc but imo this is tough to beat.

If you can swing the extra $30 I'd go with something with a X570. It will get you PCIe4 and help future proof things a little more for very little price increase. I'm running a GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Elite Wi-Fi with a Ryzen 9 3900XT and it run's great.

[USA-UT] [H] New In Box - GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ELITE WIFI [W] Venmo/Cash. Local Only

Selling for $225 (I'll eat the .21ct ;) )

While waiting for the motherboard of my dreams to come in stock on Newegg (MSI MAG Tomahawk) I purchased this board in the off chance i wasn't able to snag the Tomahawk. Low and behold I was able to purchase the Tomahawk yesterday. So, I now have two motherboards on the way from Newegg (don't tell the wife) and i need to get this one sold. I would normally just return it to Newegg, but Newegg has some horrible restocking fee policy that really just screws over the consumers.

This board is arriving to my house today. If you are in the area and in need of a good x570 board for your next RYZEN build, look no further.

https://imgur.com/a/YfUiTdp

You will also note that i'm not trying to make a penny more on this sale, because, i want to encourage more PC building in the area, not deter people from it..

The box will be unopened when you purchase it. You are free to check all seals and what not. I can even email you a proof of purchase from newegg for your records.

Here are some details on the board. https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-X570-AORUS-802-11AC-Motherboard/dp/B07WL5MFXL

Send me a message, and we can meet up if local. I'm not looking to drive too far. I'm near SLC.

That's a pretty good list, I would recommend higher speed ram for ryzen, like 3600, but the kit there is good enough. I also recommend you wait to do this until Ampere releases, because prices for gpus like the 2070 super will drop. but overall it's a good list. I would also recommend another motherboard since the one there is a little cheap for your cpu like the these: Asus Prime X570 Pro, Asus Rog Strix B550F, and the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite.

  • PCI-E expansion card (link)
  • Motherboard with built in WiFi (link)

Everything looks good so far, WHen it comes to the motherboard, maybe you can go cheaper and get this Gigabyte x570 and spend the 100 saved on an AIO or beefy air cooler. The stock cooler could float but if you want to over clock spend the money on a cooler.

Hey, is there any way to tell if a MOBO will be ready for the 5000 series of CPU's without the need for a BIOS update? I currently run an Intel build and am going for an AMD build next so I wouldn't have a CPU capable to update if it doesn't.

Conflicted between Asus AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus or the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Elite ? aside from slight price difference, any one know which is ideally better for RZ5 5600x / RTX 3070x system?

or another recommendation ? Thanks in Advance

The best overall in terms of VRM quality, RAM overclock ability, and feature set is the MSI B550-A PRO...its the best at the moment for under $150.

As for WiFi, to have a B550 board this good plus WiFi will get you into X570 board territory. And at that price range you can get a ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ($190) or a GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Elite WiFi ($199). The only real reason for you to jump to X570 is if you need PCIe 4 on the 2nd M.2 slot and/or if you plan to upgrade to something like a 3900x/3950x in the future AND plan on overclocking it. Mind you, the VRMs on that MSI B550-A PRO can handle a 3900x but might have trouble overclocking it. As for overclocking the 3600 it won't break a sweat.

Edit: Side Note: I didn't see you already said your budget in the OP...im retarded 😅

On the MSI X570 GE:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7PkZwY9PWM

The X570 Aorus Elite comes in two flavors of the exact same board but - Wifi and no Wifi

https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-X570-AORUS-PCIe4-0-Motherboard/dp/B07SVRZGMX

https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-X570-AORUS-802-11AC-Motherboard/dp/B07WL5MFXL

Yes the 3200 CAS16 is way better than the 2400 CAS15

For running a 580/590/2060SUPER, I'd rather you get a new power supply. The Antec 500HE first came out in 2005. PSUs do degrade over time. While I'd be confident reusing that PSU in a lower power build, I'm not so sure with reusing that with a 6core and an RX580 which can draw a lot of power.

The modern Corsairs (RM650) or seasonics (Focus+ 650W) should be a good place to start.

My take on the GPU is this:

If you only plan to stick with 1080p, then a 580 or a 590 will be good for now. If you do want to go 1440p then I think you have to get the 2060 SUPER at minimum.

Use this motherboard It's overkill, but why not ? Works with future graphics cards too which work on PCIe Gen 4.

Gigabyte Aorus Elite Wifi

Ryzen 7 3700X

Team group T Force Delta RGB 16GB Dual channel 3200MHz

Cooler Master ML360R- completely overkill

To save some of dat cash - Cooler Master LC240E

To save money on the motherboard, you can go with Gigabyte X570 Gaming X With this Wifi adapter

So with the cheaper mobo and 240mm rad, it comes to 660-ish USD

And with the more expensive mobo and 360mm rad it comes to 760-ish dollars.

With the more expensive mobo and 240mm rad (which I recommend) it's 698 USD, just under budget.

Chose gigabyte so you can sync the RGB.

You didn't mention case fans. Hope you know where you're mounting the radiator, and if you have enough exhaust fans at rear and top.
