There are no high-refresh OLED panels; they're 60 Hz only. Another thing to bear in mind is that color accuracy can change depending on display brightness, which is not necessarily something you want if you're doing critical work. Last year's Gigabyte Aero 15 is currently on sale for $1,299 at Amazon. That's the route I would go if OLED were a top priority.

Hey, I think that you should get a laptop with a discrete GPU for photo and video editing, as those tasks can be difficult with an integrated GPU like the one on the MacBook Pro. Consider the Gigabyte Aero 15 for $200 less, which is seen as one of the best for content creation. It has a really beautiful, color-accurate display which I think will be really beneficial for your purposes. The specs are the following: 9th Generation Intel Core i7-9750H, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660Ti graphics. The specs that you wanted paired with this graphics card are going to be great for what you're doing. It's pretty thin but kind of on the heavier side at 5 pounds, and the battery life is 6 hours on average.

However, I understand if you're really set on a MacBook Pro. The model you're looking at is pretty good for what you're doing. Just be careful that without the GPU, video editing may be a bit slower and glitchier than if you had it, but it's not impossible!

I hope this helped, and feel free to ask me any questions!

I don't think that there is anything that stands out about the Aero 15 unless you get the more expensive OLED option. Otherwise, I think that the MAG-15 is overall better when it comes to quality control and weight.

I would recommend since he's doing Autocad and other high resolution items to look at something with like a Gigabyte Aero 15, 4K OLED screen, 9th or 10th generation H series CPU. It may be a bit out of the budget but the combination of H series hex core, high resolution is quite useful. Other ideas are the HP Spectres X360s.

I'm on the brink of buying a new laptop for music production and uni (one of these ZenBook Pros or a gigabyte AERO 15), but I've been hearing about some some insane 10th gen processors unveiled at this year's CES from AMD and Intel. Would it be worth holding off for a laptop with one of those instead? I believe Acer is releasing one in March/May with Intel/AMD processors, respectively.

Just curious, do you need a 4k touch display? That seems like overkill for a notebook and really pumps up the price.

If you don't need touch, Here's something that's still 4k, has better specs all around, and will save you $750+.

If you don't need 4k there are also 1080 variants which go down even further in price.

If you absolutely need both 4k and Touch, Razer makes a 13" laptop with better specs and still a few hundred dollars less.

The creator 15 is not 4k at this price point. And it jumps to $2500 if I do go with the 4k. If that price jump is worth it, I dont mind shelling out the extra cash.

Be aware, COD Modern Warfare was not released for MacOS (as is the case with most AAA games) so you would have to run it in windows bootcamp.

Playing games in bootcamp is okay but there's sometimes driver compatibility issues that make it a pain. If gaming really is a major focus I think I'd suggest a windows option over the Mac. I'm currently using the 16" MBP and honestly don't even bother using it for gaming.

If reliability and longevity is a concern I'd probably suggest the much cheaper Thinkpad X1 Extreme. It has a great build quality, fairly portable design, great keyboard, and a pretty long battery life. It also has a GTX 1650 dedicated GPU which isn't incredibly high end but is still on par / better than the GPU's in the 16" MBP and can play AAA games around medium settings.

The Razer Blade is another okay option. Apparently their customer support has been getting better in recent years as well, but I can't comment on how your experience will be when dealing with them internationally. There's also other light and powerful options like the Zephyrus S, Aero 15, and Mag-15.

I got a new mouse along with this new build and thought maybe it was just the mouse, but I plugged my old one in and tried playing a game and something definitely feels off. My system is an i7-9700k, RTX 2080ti, and 32gb of 3200 speed G.skill Trident Z ram on a ASUS z390E Mobo. I have no idea what could be causing this issue. My main monitor is a 144hz Acer 27inch with FreeSync (it does not have Gsync). I wouldnt think that this really matters having Gsync but im very confused as to why the Input delay feels present. I was also playing with Locked 144fps with Vsync on so im really stumped. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
