I very much recommend this monitor: [VIOTEK GNV27DB 27-Inch Curved QHD Gaming Monitor
](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084CYSSBG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_HixwFb8DGT2CQ) I can say that it is an incredible monitor that is a pleasure to use. I overthink everything too, so I can safely recommend this monitor due to it meeting all of my standards.

Looking at the Viotek line up you might want to go with the GNV27DB for the secondary it you save $50 going with this one over the GNV27DAB that looks like it comes with an adjustable stand. A special sense you are mounting it above your Alienware monitor.

Is this a good monitor?

If you can possibly squeeze 30 extra bucks into your budget, I highly recommend viotek. They have some really decent VA panels on the cheap. Good friend had one for several years till his roommate recently broke it. 1440p @144Hz, the gaming sweet spot my friend.

> I've heard some Viotek monitors shipping with dead pixels.
All of the major brands have the same problem. The main issue is the company policy regarding those monitor and the customer service.
And anyway, the panel on the Viotek is a Samsung one so that makes Samsung panels prone to dead pixels?
> the stand takes up a lot of space and is almost impossible to fit on a riser, which OP might want given the height is fixed.
I completely agree with you but the C27JG56 use about the same space, so...
>As of now, the VA monitor is OOS

I have the non-curved version of this one. TN panel. It's nice enough, under budget, has freesync and 1ms refresh. It sits next to an ips panel that is only 60hz. The difference in color is noticeable but not game changing once you're staring at it for a while.

After cruising the sub since Memorial Day and glossing over Viotek, I went ahead and ordered a GNV27DB from them and it's arriving on the 9th. They seem to have great reviews on Amazon, I was wondering why they never get posted here. Anyways, really looking forward to making the jump up.

As I recently looked into this myself, for the exact same spec, I suggest this Viotek monitor or something similar. I was very pleased with the quality of the monitors, despite being some of the cheapest on the market. You really get your moneys worth.

Might cost an extra $100 but I’d recommend a 1440p 120-144 hz monitor if you plan on upgrading to the series X or getting a PC/PS5 in the future. I have this monitor: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084CYSSBG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_mTXjFbA7E5T8Z
It’s $60 above your budget but I’ve enjoyed it. Youd need speakers too. If you need new speakers, get the logitech Z200. $20 and they are perfect for what you need. A good monitor arm might be worth it too since it can save your deskspace. Depending how your bed is situated, you can extend the arm and be able to watch tv/movies in bed.

The processor has plenty of headroom so no bottlenecking will occur. You can go for a high refresh rate 1440p monitor https://www.amazon.com/GNV27DB-2560x1440p-Curvature-G-Sync-Ready-Zero-Tolerance/dp/B084CYSSBG/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=1440p+monitor+144hz&qid=1600635888&sprefix=1440p+monitor+&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFGMVVHRDdWVVBRQVYmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA3NzEwMjcxRVNHUE9LUDRYS0EzJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAzMDM5MTEzQjFFQVhWVlg3NEdVJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfcGhvbmVfc2VhcmNoX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU= Like this one

The Viotek 27" 1440p 144hz curved gaming monitor is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. They come in the colors black and white. It's priced at $249.99, and you can take it back since it's returnable :).

Whatever monitor you buy make sure the HDMI is compatible with 144hz

I have a similar setup. 34" Asus PG348Q with two 27" side monitors.
I'd recommend either curved VA panels such as the Viotek GNV27DB: https://www.amazon.com/GNV27DB-2560x1440p-Curvature-G-Sync-Ready-Zero-Tolerance/dp/B084CYSSBG/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=curved+27%22&qid=1591506594&sr=8-10

Or an IPS panel for the excellent viewing angles:

The RTX 2080 is a solid card, and it might be worth getting if you are looking at the 3090 due to the 50% boost based on the leaks that are out. For the high end, however, if it may be worth holding off since you have a solid GPU that can handle the current software boost that is exclusive to Nvidia. The closest monitors that fit your 24" 1440p is our FI24D, which is 1440p at 75Hz however, you can posable overclock your output to the display, and it will get a slight bump to the monitor. While testing this, most of the monitors can get up to 90Hz before instability, and a couple could get up to 100Hz. This will shorten the monitor's lifespan if overlock is used. https://viotek.com/fi24d-24-inch-ips-qhd-gaming-monitor-75Hz-freesync/ https://www.amazon.com/FI24D-FreeSync-GamePlus-G-Sync-Compatible-Zero-Tolerance/dp/B0842C9K8V Now if you go up to a 27-inch display your options start to open up and you can have more of a selection. Some of the features that you can select like adjustable, RGB color, speakers, or stand. Here are some of the monitor that is from our product line that is in stock to look. https://viotek.com/gfv27dab-27-inch-gaming-monitor-1440p-144hz-freesync-vesa/ https://www.amazon.com/GFV27DAB-Color-Rich-HDR-Ready-G-Sync-Compatible-Full-Motion/dp/B086ZZBPY9?ref_=ast_sto_dp https://viotek.com/gnv27db-27-inch-curved-qhd-gaming-monitor-144hz-1440p-LFC-adaptive-sync/ https://www.amazon.com/GNV27DB-2560x1440p-Curvature-G-Sync-Ready-Zero-Tolerance/dp/B084CYSSBG?ref_=ast_sto_dp

Well under budget. There's a lot of wiggle room for aesthetic upgrades so hear me out.
The CPU is more than plenty for gaming. With 8 cores and 16 threads, the 3700X will stay relevant in gaming for many years. It comes with a decent stock cooler as well.
There's not many motherboards in stock in the US. There may be better selection where you are. Due to the shortage, I chose a decent full sized ATX motherboard that's pretty barebones but has all the essentials. Especially if you're not overclocking, it doesn't really matter.
Ryzen benefits from faster RAM, so I chose a kit of 3600 MHz CL16. Compared to the standard 3200 MHz CL16, it should give some extra frames.
The ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro is a high-end NVMe SSD with read/write speeds equal to the Samsung 970 Evo, but at a better price.
The RTX 2080 Super will crush any games at 1080p and perform very well at 1440p. Here are some benchmarks.
The Meshify C is a popular case designed for airflow. It has a nice TG side panel and a PSU shroud to hide your cables. It has plenty of space in the back for cable management, and cutouts/tie-downs in the proper spots. It has a mesh front panel for airflow and it comes with two fans; I added one more for positive pressure, which will not only facilitate airflow but also prevent/slow the accumulation dust within the case.
I wasn't sure if you needed a monitor. If you do, here's are some choices:
- Dell S2417DG - 1440p, 24", TN, 165 Hz. Best option for competitive games like Overwatch, CS:GO, etc, thanks to the imperceptible response time. Colours aren't the best. G-Sync.
- Viotek GNV27DB - 1440p, 27", VA, 144 Hz. Decent option for a balance between response time and colour accuracy. Cheap, but the company isn't well known. Reviews are pretty good, though.
- Samsung C27JG56 - 1440p, 27", VA, 144 Hz. Good balance between response time and colour accuracy. More expensive than the Viotek monitor, but from a more reliable brand. Higher peak brightness for more vibrant visuals.
- ASUS TUF VG27BQ - 1440p, 27", TN, 165 Hz. More expensive than the Dell one, but has even less response time. Just an option if you wanted a fast monitor but at 27".
- BenQ EX2780Q - 1440p, 27", IPS, 144 Hz. Most expensive out of these options, but IPS panel ensures best colour quality. High peak brightness for best visual quality.
