Hey, bub. I’m in the same boat as you and have come across this monitor I’m very tempted to buy one, considering the price and how good the majority of reviews are.

You only listed two Monitors, If you have a Nvidia GPU that supports adaptive Sync get the LG, it also has HDR which you might be able to use for watching movies etc.
I did see this https://www.amazon.com/GFV27DAB-Color-Rich-HDR-Ready-G-Sync-Compatible-Full-Motion/dp/B086ZZBPY9/ref=psdc_1292115011_t2_B08CS3X1R9
Could be worth looking into if you have an AMD GPU.

I have a very similar setup except for my processor being a ryzen 5 3600. Honestly, apart from games like RL and CS:GO where you can expect higher FPS, having 144Hz is already enough. EG : In recent games like Modern Warfare I can expect around 120FPS in MP and 60-80 in BR since it's more CPU-demanding.
The more you go up in FPS the less they become constant, so i'd rather have a stable 144Hz gameplay than a wacky 240Hz display.
Honestly for $300 i'd rather go for a 27" 1440p 144Hz 1ms monitor like this. If you don't mind the increase in size of course. But you'd really benefit from the higher res and already mind-blowing 144Hz

How does this monitor compare to the VIOTEK GFV27DAB 27-Inch Gaming Monitor? Is it worth the extra ~ $90?

I just got the VIOTEK GFV27DAB a few days ago for 300 and I'm pretty happy with it. It is a VA panel but with overdrive I haven't noticed any ghosting. Also comes with freesync that has been working fine with my gtx 1060.
I'm no monitor expert by any means so take it with a grain of salt.

it's 144Hz, 1440p, 1ms response time, gsync compatible, as well as freesync, and also a 3 year warranty! So I just pulled the triggered. Have been on a 60 fps 1080p monitor for too long.

What's your price range? I was looking at this one:
https://www.amazon.com/GFV27DAB-Color-Rich-HDR-Ready-G-Sync-Compatible-Full-Motion/dp/B086ZZBPY9/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=27+inch+1440p+144hz+monitor&qid=1598336173&sr=8-10
Eventually bought two Dell S2721DGF's. I wanted the higher color gamut. 165hz @ 10-bit color is also nice (First non LG to use DP 1.4). Plus the Dell version actually uses edge dimming and is HDR400. Oh, and a built in USB 3.0 hub.
Does the contract suck? No. Is it any good? Also no. But it's fine, and it knocks everything else out of the park. Worth it if you can get a discount. I was going to buy the HP 27i's, but I was able to get the Dell's at $400 each, shipped (plus tax).

Pretty nice monitor. No complaints so far. However, I don’t use it with my PS5 (I had a PS4 pro prior).
This is the 4K monitor I have for my PS5 and used with PS4 pro and everything looked absolutely amazing. BenQ EL2870U 28 inch 4K Monitor for Gaming 1ms Response Time, FreeSync, HDR, eye-care, speakers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078HWN5CX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_ooPUFbBXFCWDA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

The RTX 2080 is a solid card, and it might be worth getting if you are looking at the 3090 due to the 50% boost based on the leaks that are out. For the high end, however, if it may be worth holding off since you have a solid GPU that can handle the current software boost that is exclusive to Nvidia. The closest monitors that fit your 24" 1440p is our FI24D, which is 1440p at 75Hz however, you can posable overclock your output to the display, and it will get a slight bump to the monitor. While testing this, most of the monitors can get up to 90Hz before instability, and a couple could get up to 100Hz. This will shorten the monitor's lifespan if overlock is used. https://viotek.com/fi24d-24-inch-ips-qhd-gaming-monitor-75Hz-freesync/ https://www.amazon.com/FI24D-FreeSync-GamePlus-G-Sync-Compatible-Zero-Tolerance/dp/B0842C9K8V Now if you go up to a 27-inch display your options start to open up and you can have more of a selection. Some of the features that you can select like adjustable, RGB color, speakers, or stand. Here are some of the monitor that is from our product line that is in stock to look. https://viotek.com/gfv27dab-27-inch-gaming-monitor-1440p-144hz-freesync-vesa/ https://www.amazon.com/GFV27DAB-Color-Rich-HDR-Ready-G-Sync-Compatible-Full-Motion/dp/B086ZZBPY9?ref_=ast_sto_dp https://viotek.com/gnv27db-27-inch-curved-qhd-gaming-monitor-144hz-1440p-LFC-adaptive-sync/ https://www.amazon.com/GNV27DB-2560x1440p-Curvature-G-Sync-Ready-Zero-Tolerance/dp/B084CYSSBG?ref_=ast_sto_dp
