Anyone know if G.Skill RAM is going on sale? Specifically this kit? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WTS8T2W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3TOECTKC4OEBD&psc=1

Wanted to order tomorrow with the MSI Mobo sale starting tomorrow, but I don't know if it will go on sale later this week. 5600x comes on Saturday

Thanks so much to you and u/wildeye

I found this one: G.Skill Trident Z Neo Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin SDRAM PC4-28800 DDR4 3600MHz CL16-19-19-39 1.35V Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WTS8T2W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Cn5mEb38J4TFQ

And it’s only $30 different from my originial 3200 kit.

It isn’t white-which is the main reason I bought it. But since I had to get QL120s anyway and some other black fans I’m slowly transitioning from mostly white to a black and white build anyway.

I think this kit may be my best bet.

I know this is a fairly old comment, but I'm wondering how is this kit faring so far? I'm thinking of getting it. And just to be very clear, is this the kit you're talking about?

https://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-Trident-PC4-28800-CL16-19-19-39-F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC/dp/B07WTS8T2W/

Another question: If you had 16gb before making the jump to 32gb, did you notice any drops in FPS while gaming? I heard some people reporting slightly lower FPS with 32 compared to 16.

Thanks in advance.

Those or these for 32GB?

I don't care about RGB but I am concerned about height since I'm also getting a Noctua NH-D15.

This is only a steal if you’re only wanting 16gb with potential to add on later right?

If you wanted 32gb it would be better to get these neo’s off amazon instead of two sets in OP?

I must be not seeing something correctly here, amazon has this same ram in 2x16GB configuration and lower timing for $190: G.Skill Trident Z Neo Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin SDRAM PC4-28800 DDR4 3600MHz CL16-19-19-39 1.35V Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WTS8T2W/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_odjGEbYRXVTCY

Well, you could actually get away with a 2x16, it’ll probably be enough. Kits get real damn expensive at 64gb so I would probably go with a 2x16

These are pretty damn nice and have a good rep:

The good kind of this RAM Trident Z Neo 3600 Cas16 Hynix DJR is $190 on Amazon and Newegg. $180 at Microcenter.

Meant for Ryzen 3000 / x570 mobos though. Did 3800 at the 3600 XMP auto settings out of the box.

Trying to understand how well a CL16 3200 kit would potentially perform with a 5900x versus CL16 3600 kit. Is the 3600 really worth the extra 40 bucks?

Oh yah I'm looking forward to putting this together. Also, found this: https://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-Trident-PC4-28800-CL16-19-19-39-F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC/dp/B07WTS8T2W

Do you think this will fit under my Noctua? The original RAM that I was going to get was Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 and that fit with the Noctua cause its Low Profile. It doesn't state in the link I sent that it is low profile. Do you think it would fit?

If you don't care about the last timing being 39 vs 36 - this RAM is only $177 on amazon under all buying options.

I'm just linking the first option on Amazon just as an example, this isn't a recommendation:

RAM listing

So this RAM is 2x8GB and speed 3600Mhz. You'll notice the C18 in the title - that's the main CAS latency number that you'd want to look for.

Second RAM example

Here you'll actually see all four timings: C16-19-19-39. The C16 is the main number.

I got this for my 5600x and B550: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WTS8T2W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Overclocked it to 3800MHz with no changes to timings and it's been rock solid. Also changed my FCLK to 1900. No issues. Made a surprisingly big difference in performance.

It's not Samsung B-Die, but it's still very good for the price.

What about between single rank or dual rank?

What would you recommend out of the below without any overclocking for amd build?

As I've never actually tried OCing RAM I can't really give my opinion but G.Skills Trident Z Neo kit is bloody good for the price

https://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-Trident-PC4-28800-CL16-19-19-39-F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC/dp/B07WTS8T2W

If you don't care at all for RGB then I'd recommend their Ripjaws V

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z45XB3G?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1

I wouldn't actually recommend getting them from Amazon as you can find them on similar PC building oriented websites for better prices, just used it as am example :)

If I remember correctly amd is dual Chanel so you can't hit full speed in quad Chanel. Is it possible to return that ram? this ram kit is cheaper and faster while being a dual Chanel and works with ryzen

r/buildapc • comment

In real life, probably pretty minimal difference. It'll be a bit faster but mainly in memory-specific benchmarks.

As for specific recommendations, I'm really not sure, I haven't got any first-hand experience with different kits so looking for an article comparing some would be your best bet. These are similar to the ones you linked but a bit quicker, or if you can find these, they're a little bit quicker again. But the real-world difference isn't likely to be dramatic, if it's even noticeable outside of benchmarks.

Before I click buy....

I'll be jumping on this deal with the 3900x.

Looking to upgrade my current pc. Getting cpu, ram, mobo.

CPU: AMD 3900x

Mobo: Asus ROG Strix X570-E https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SW8DQVL/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A23NVCSO4PYH3S&psc=1

Ram: G.Skill Trident Z Neo Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin SDRAM PC4-28800 DDR4 3600MHz CL16-19-19-39 1.35V https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WTS8T2W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3TOECTKC4OEBD&psc=1

My main concern is the RAM. Is that going to have any compatibility issues, or is there a better option? any advice or opinions will be helpful. Thank you!

I was considering between the 3900x and the 3700x as i believe both of them will meet my needs, but i thought about taking the 3900x as with all of my previous computers i used them for 5-7 years and then replaced all their components (and the price difference was 150 USD)

Regarding the gpu i'm not a heavy FPS player, i'm mostly playing moba and RPG so i though that i can take the 2070 and use the price difference on other components (around 300 USD difference).

Thanks for the advice regarding the ram, i found that this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WTS8T2W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

which can be shipped to my location :)

Don't do 4x8; opt for 2x16gb. It allows a better upgrade path and Ryzen overclocks ram better with dual channel than quad.

I'd recommend this set. I have it paired with my Ryzen 3900x and got 3600 by just clicking XMP-1. No fooling around with voltage settings or any of that nonsense. Just fast ram right out of the box.

If you still want RGB, go with these

For what its worth, I ordered the gigabyte aorus m https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/B450-AORUS-M-rev-10/support#support-doc

so, I think i'll be getting this RAM then. https://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-Trident-PC4-28800-CL16-19-19-39-F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC/dp/B07WTS8T2W/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=F4-3600C17Q-32GVK&qid=1591230875&s=pc&sr=1-3

I know 16gb is all that is needed for gaming, and that's mostly what I'd be using it for, but I do want to get into some video editing, and maybe streaming, in the future. 32gb should help a bit with that.

Since you play at 1440p i thought that 2080S gonna be a cheaper choice than 2080ti . I chooses 10980XE over 10900 because for 200$ extra you get 6 more cores .

DO NOT BUY THAT RAM!

Buy 1 kit of 4x 8gb. Otherwise you will regret it. They are not guaranteed to work together unless you buy 1 kit. It will cost a bit extra but 10000% worth it.

Edit: He put in 2 kits of 2 8gb sticks. Buy 1 kit of 4 8gb sticks or regret it.

Here's an example

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WTS8T2W

Costs a bit more cash ($30) gives you dual channel 32gb in a single kit. Boom done. Those $30 saved from the way the kits were ordered would cause so much headaches. Trust me, I did that recently, I have to run my 3000 ram at 2600 because they werent in a kit and thus don't work well with so many sticks together.
