I've actually made sweet rolls from the Elder Scrolls Cookbook. They were so-so. Not quite as sweet as you might expect.

The skyrim cookbook has multiple mead recipes in it, as well as a few other alcoholic beverages. It’s definitely a good buy for fun and some odd but good dishes. I would give the recipes but I’m not sure I’m allowed to...

I followed the one from the official cookbook . I don’t think I did anything wrong though. I was just hoping for them to taste more sweet and less like a bread roll. Oh well

Last night I made horker loaf and sweet rolls from my Elder Scrolls: Skyrim cookbook. Followed by a shot of the water of life to stave off the plague.

Well, really the Elder Scrolls cookbook, but it seems like it has more tied to Skyrim than Morrowind or Cyrodiil. Maybe it's just the ones I keep picking, lol.

The lady that wrote it has some other good fan cookbooks, too! I also have the Firefly and World of Warcraft ones. The Warcraft one has some recipes that my kids just keep begging. I hear great things about the Star Wars one from my boss.

I made the liquor following the recipe from the Official TES Cookbook and my little sister drew the label from scratch (she's awesome)!

''Baap'tis'' is my real name (Baptiste) re-imagined as a fictional Khajiit skooma brand :)

I got my nerdy brother a subscription snack box. I really like Universal Yums, but there are a ton out there. It’s the gift that keeps on giving haha. The only problem is you might not get it in time before Xmas, so look around and order fast.

As for cooking, there are some rad cookbooks. If you want to go the nerdy route...

And a bunch more!

Mother's Day Meals (Skyrim Cookbook)

Not sure what to get Mom? (Or forgot)?

If she's a truly awesome chick, she lives in Tamriel, so bring it home with a Mother's Day Dinner (there's breakfast too, but we can't help you there, we only cooked dinner - don't worry we skipped an ingredient so you go out and get the cookbook too, but it's still close enough to freestyle if you follow along, the best of both worlds.)

Who am I? Oh, I'm Aliera of Wayrest, Akatosh's kid (yeah, THAT Akatosh). I betaed for Bethesda back before they even launched. Come Along for a ride.

When I first saw the cookbook, I thought that it was inspired by the open world interactions and closeness that an Online Format brings about. I called it a win for ESO. It turns out that the author of the book (who began blogging Asoiaf recipes and never looked back) based it largely out of Skyrim, taking other countries into consideration! Who knew, win one for the Nords. I still hold that their popularity stems from a lack of understanding about what crossplatforming does to sales (it was the first available on console), a lot of modders love the PC/Console format, and many more people play consoles than PC Games.

The author tried to showcase the food's history in its composition, keeping in mind the cannon that had built up around it. There was going to be no end to sweetroll references once it was out, but that didn't make the sweet any more or less important across the different provinces of Tamriel. She used visual cues and evident ingredients in her search, and included the richly photographed final dishes for reference.

Bonuses, you can make the dishes vegan, etc. (Know your audience, friends, know your audience), and they label the difficulty of the recipes, so that you can pick out dishes that you can handle?

Obviously we ignored all of that and just went, starting with a side and working our way up. With a blend of spices and a hearty set of foodstuffs, you wound up with dishes that hailed from the Mother Russian region of the world, good food for cold winters and long sessions of gaming, hacking, or other PC based pursuits.

We learned to cook when we were tiny (it's the Royal We, we're in Daggerfall and are the next thing to a god in this Realm: See the King Edward books), and kept going, so - while we might use the occasional cooking term incorrectly (like reduction or something), we've learned french, german, gourmet, italian and pairing. And of course American, so this should be fun, educational, and leave you prepared to host a watch party or other Dungeons based event!

So my new hobby nowadays is cooking.

I started soon after moving in to my apartment. I currently own two cookbooks - Antoni in the Kitchen and The Official Elder Scrolls Cookbook. It's a weird combination, but this weekend I made some amazing Chicken Milanese and Sweetrolls, I bet you can guess which recipe is from which book.
