Check out the Edifier R1850DB, I believe it checks off your boxes. It is a powered studio monitor, subwoofer output, optical input, coax input, and 2 RCA inputs. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073W1R4XQ/ref=emc_b_5_i

Edifier 1850db bookshelf speakers on sale for $50 off, $149 total. They are a really great sounding feature-packed pair of speakers for the price. These have optical, bluetooth, and a sub port to expand as well.

I have a set of Edifier R1850DB and love them. Optical in and Bluetooth.

The Razors you mentioned are not good at all. Stay away from any "pc" speakers, like those or Logitech.
For $200, these Edifiers would be a fantastic solution. Also, you mentioned subwoofers. Most speakers don't come with one, but you can always add one later. A lot of proper speakers don't really require one anyways. You'd be surprised at how much bass those can create.

I was looking at these earlier and that was where i saw the optical. I was compairing with the JBL 308s. Optical wasnt an issue. I have a few Harman Products. Just prefer the sound.

I would just get a pair of powered speakers and use optical. No pops or cutouts with a digital signal in general, and should be pretty clean.
Something like this

If you ever do upgrade this Edifier Speaker paired with a subwoofer hits so hard.

Personally I'd prefer an AVR and separate speakers, but for simplicity a powered speaker set like the ones you mentioned would work. Edifer has some options with optical inputs.
These Edifiers have an optical input and subwoofer output, neither of which the fluance ai40s have, and they're the same price ($199) as the ai40. I havent heard them, but Edifers are often reviewed well among budget audiophiles.

Man, you have a serious controller. Spend $200 on some powered speakers for them.
I just bought a ZLX-15BT because I like that club sound. But, these bookshelfs are good for the money:

Nope. You just take an optical cable or RCA cables from your TV and plug it into the back of the Edifier speakers. They have built in amplifiers and a DAC.

Just plug em in and your set.

Hi, I was looking into the Bluetooth speakers and I saw the Edifier R1850DB and that personally looks really nice to me. Would that work with the LP60x as well? Sorry for asking so many questions!

If you want to keep it simple, then a powered setup may be a good start. Maybe something like the Edifier R1850D. It would hook straight up to your PC and has a sub out in case you want to add a sub later. 4 inch mid-woofers, so you're not going to get booming bases out of it, but it would be fuller and higher clarity than your logitechs.

You could go with the Edifier R1850DB. They have optical in (so you wouldn't need the converter) as well as a subwoofer output, so if you decide you want more bass at some point, you can add it without needing to replace your speakers.

They look like Edifier R1850DBs. I have a pair in the same configuration and I think they sound fantastic. Granted, I'm not really an audiophile, but they're leaps ahead of the Logitech Z200s I used for years. And they've got a pretty good feature set for $200.

I can highly recommend these. They're powered bookshelf speakers, and you can add a Subwoofer to them later if he decides to.
Also don't buy one of those shit $200 "gamer chairs"

Thinking of surprising my wife with an actual turntable to play all the limited edition indie vinyl she's collected over the years. However, I have no idea what I'm doing. Rate my setup?

These are not high end speakers but I have been very happy with my Edifier R1850DB speakers. I eventually added a subwoofer as well, to fill out the ultra lows (though they sound great without it. I actually don't have it connected at the moment.)

The thing with gear is... gear is great. But there are people with the best gear who produce bad music, and people with lesser gear who produce good music. It's an unpopular opinion but not everyone needs (or can afford) $1,000+ speakers.

Yes you can do this, but you need to buy a Rega Planar 1 Plus ( https://www.amazon.com/REGA-Planar-Plus-Turntable-White/dp/B07G9NC48R ) and a pair of active speakers like these ( https://www.amazon.com/Edifier-R1850DB-Bookshelf-Speakers-Bluetooth/dp/B073W1R4XQ )

If you're looking to spend a little more, there's these slightly better Edifiers, and the Dayton Sub-1200 or Bic F12 if you want some serious bass.

Hey.
I just bought the Edifier R1850DB's and they should be coming it pretty soon. I was wondering, since these are replacing my old Z506's (Amazon Link, Logitech Link), would I be able to use my Z506's subwoofer with the R1850DB? If not, is there any adapter I could use to make it possible? If that can't happen, is there any subwoofer that you would recommend (pref below $75) that I could use for the Edifiers? I primarily use these for gaming, and occasional YouTube. Very rarely music or movies.
Thank you!

i know you said you prefer passive, but there are some nice powered options.
Fluance Ai60 $300, built in USB DAC, also takes RCA analog, and bluetooth. Fluance is a very well regarded company, and i have enjoyed my Fluance floor speakers for years.
https://www.fluance.com/powered-2-0-bluetooth-active-6-inch-bookshelf-speakers-white-walnut
you're not going to find another bookshelf speaker with a 6" woofer in this price range.

for $200 you can get some nice Edifers. Optical input as well as standard RCA. remote, bluetooth built in. no DAC.
https://www.amazon.com/Edifier-R1850DB-Bookshelf-Speakers-Bluetooth/dp/B073W1R4XQ/

both have sub outs if you want a sub later.

What is a nearby town or zip to look for used options?
AT-LP60X with Edifier R1280T is $200. You have $100 more for a better turntable or better speakers.
Better turntables:
- Crosley C6 ~~$179~~ on sale for $123 to $146 that adds adjustable tracking force and replaceable cartridge over the LP60X.
- Fluance RT80 ~~$199~~ $175 with coupon code "FLUCAT". Adds auto stop and adjustable anti-skate.
Better speakers: 5" NEUMI BS5 $89 powered by analog Sony STR-DH190 ~~$149~~ $129.
If you must get small 4" digital amp Edifiers for a small room or office then the new S version Edifier R1280DBs $139 adds a subwoofer output, Bluetooth and digital optical input or the slightly better Edifier R1850DB $149 also has those features too.
If you must go under $100 for speakers then buy used or:
Digital mini amps:
- With Bluetooth, Douk Audio G5 100W Bluetooth 5.0 2 Channel Amplifier $43.
- With a headphone jack, Dayton Audio DTA30HP 30W Class D Mini Amp $42.
Plus passive speakers: 6.5" Dayton Audio B652-AIR with AMT Tweeters $49.
To add more components to the mini amps such as a CD player, tape deck or Bluetooth or Wifi Streaming Audio receiver, Panlong 4-Way AV Switch RCA Switcher $11.
Add an optional $15 Bluetooth Receiver.

With $300, you can buy some pretty decent passive speakers and hook them up to Bluetooth capable amps:
https://www.amazon.com/S-M-S-L-Infineons-Technology-Amplifier-chip%EF%BC%8CBluetooth/dp/B081DJD1G4
Or you can go with these active Bookshelf speakers:
https://www.amazon.com/Edifier-R2000DB-Bluetooth-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B016PAWJYS
https://www.amazon.com/Edifier-R1850DB-Bookshelf-Speakers-Bluetooth/dp/B073W1R4XQ
R2000DB is better, but R1850 has ability to hook up to a subwoofer later.

I would stay away from klipsch as their powered speakers are overpriced.
For stand alone powered speakers I would get either the:
Fluance AI60. https://www.fluance.com/powered-2-0-bluetooth-active-6-inch-bookshelf-speakers-white-walnut
Or the https://www.amazon.com/Edifier-R1850DB-Bookshelf-Speakers-Bluetooth/dp/B073W1R4XQ
But as a bass head I would personally far rather have a cheaper 2.1 setup like this: https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-mk402btx-powered-bluetooth-4-2-way-bookshelf-speaker-pair-with-35mm-aux-in--300-467
Plus https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-sub-1000-10-100-watt-powered-subwoofer--300-628
For only $220 this 2.1 setup would completely blow away the klipsch setup.
