The Dell S2147DG is easily the best "144Hz" monitor imo. It's a little more expensive at just under $290 but totally worth it. It goes up to 165Hz OC and with GSync that means you can disable VSync, set max framerate to 160Hz and have a smooth ass experience without tearing. Having the higher resolution makes it just the best all around.

So I have had great experience with this Dell monitor and I have found that the black levels while gaming and watching movies have been pretty good for it being a monitor. As for the need for 4k in my opinion, noticing the difference between 1440p and true 4k quality is pretty slim. Not to mention the hit on your fps while processing that 4k resolution for your games. A big plus with this monitor as well, is that it has g-sync which is a major seller for me beings the fact that I have nvidia cards and it improves that latency factor in gaming. Take a look at this monitors specs to see if it can be a great fit for you! Dell Monitor

I bought this in 2017 and it is such a great monitor! I have had zero complaints and nothing but good experiences. I do think it’s gone up in price since I bought it, though.

They have gone on sale in the past to the $200s but haven’t seen it go that low for awhile.

I’d get this one, it’s REALLY good and has amazing specs for the price. Only thing is that it’s 3 inches smaller than what you want. It does have a 27” version on Amazon but the 24” one is 100 dollars under your limit. Hope this helps!

In that case I would suggest Dell S2417DG
Can be OC to 165HZ I use this as my First Person Shooter monitor
Currently on sale for exactly $350 luckily

The 27' one frequently goes on sale for like $350. Might want to keep your eyes peeled if this one goes on sale too. I've used the 27' one and only stopped cause I upgraded to a 4k monitor but it does everything well and I had no issues with it.

this is what I have, I really like it. Great monitor, good color for TN panel, great response time, and will complement your 2070S nicely.

I'm a 24" 1440p 144/165hz kind of guy. Bought this monitor from microcenter for $299 back in April: https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Monitor-S2417DG-24-Inch-Response/dp/B01IOO4SGK/
1 points • bobide
I'm seeing it for $325 on amazon (US). I've also been shopping for a 1440p/144hz monitor and there isn't much in stock around the same price as the dell.

At 300 you cant find a monitor like that. Youd probably have to get to around the $400+ range
Without g sync: AOC CQ27G1 AOC CQ27G2 Samsung CJG56
Are what I found for 27 inch, 1440p, 144hz monitors
You may consider: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IOO4SGK?tag=globalnetwork-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
$80 over your limit and its 24 inches. But it has gsync and goes up to 165hz. Not sure how you feel about TN vs IPS tho. Personally I'm IPS for everything but I mainly play single player games.
Or there is the LG 27GL83A-B. Its exactly what you're looking for but is $150 over your budget. It's the cheapest I could find.

No diapers, but I certainly have enough toilet paper! For the monitor, I'd heard good things about the Dell S2417DG, and from what I've seen this is a pretty good price! I do still need to figure out my mouse and keyboard situation, but I'm pretty sure I want to go with one of those fancy extended mousepads.

I would reccomend getting a hard drive, as I only see a single 500 gb ssd for your storage, which will not get you very far. Any seagate barracuda drive over 1 or 2 tb should be good. As for the monitor, I think it might be a bit pricey for one that isn’t gsync-compatable. Probably not a big deal nowadays, as you probably will get close to no screen tearing with any build, but I would still reccomend something like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Monitor-S2417DG-24-Inch-Response/dp/B01IOO4SGK/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=dell+144hz+1440p+gsync&qid=1588064282&sr=8-3 Everything else looks pretty nice! Good luck on the build!

I've been using this monitor for some time, and it works great. 1440p 165 Hz 1 ms and has gsync compatibly. It's a TN panel as opposed to an IPS panel though.

24-inch 1440p Monitors - Why so Rare?
I really want a 24-inch monitor...
144hz+ Refresh Rate 1ms Response Time 2560x1440
Why is that so hard to find? The only one I've been able to find is a Dell that's over 3 years old
Is there any better option for what I'm looking for?

This is what I use and seems to tick everything you're looking for though I don't know the quality of the monitors you're referencing.
It's 24inches, 2560x1440p, 144hz and can be overclocked to 165hz. Gsync compatible with 1ms response time.

1440p @ 144Hz is the sweet spot. Dell S2417DG 23.8" 2560x1440 165 Hz Monitor is on sale.
144Hz vs 240Hz doesn't make a big difference. The resolution does.
