I've been eyeing the previous version without the logo at the top. It's been $35 forever and it'll match the other Deepcool fans I've got. I haven't pulled the trigger because what the heck else am I doing with my Wraith Prism :/

>If the connection ends in a USB port, plug it into one of the USB 2 headers on the Mobo. Otherwise the RGB header is fine, I've just found the software can be finicky about recognizing the fans RGB function through the RGB header even though THATS THE GODDAMN POINT OF THE HEADER
Great advice! I will keep that in mind when I get to that stage in the build.
>If you CAN connect the power lines to a hub yes, do that. Or just plug all of the fans into individual headers provided you have enough on the board.
There's only 4 fan headers on my board, so that's why I'm going the hub route.

> Both CPU fans? There should only be one which would just go into the CPU fan header on the mother board as well. You can also skip the hub on the CPU cooler and plug the RGB controller directly to the board by the RGB header.
My CPU cooler has one fan, but it has the accessories to add a second fan. I have an extra RF120 and I might overclock, so I thought, "what the hell?"

Atm the ran is there bc that's what I have now and the plan was so use that to get 32gb's, I have a a deepcool cooler atm it seems to cool mine pretty well do you think it would world well for the r7(usually 70 ish degrees full load) , the peripherals are just a rough guess at what I want but yeah, monitor is Def not for keeps

Small thought to consider - Change the CPU cooler to a Gammaxx GT BK if you are in that budget range. It performs on-par to the 212 Evo but since you are going with Deepcool RGB case fans all the hardware will work together then, rather than having two discreet RGB setups.

For the price of V2 just get the Gammaxx GT. Exact same heatsink as the 400 V2 but with the 4pin 12v addressable rgb fan built in as well. If I'm going to have lights on my fans, I'd still rather them be rgb and able to adjust rather than only blue always.
It's only $34.99 on Amazon w/ Prime. I'm using one right now, keeps my Ryzen at around a 73 C avg under full load with PBO.

If you're worried about clearance, I've personally used a Deepcool Gammaxx GT-BK in a P300A case for a build I put together for someone a few weeks ago. That's also a good budget air cooler that should work.

Is this good enough for keeping temps reasonable on an overclocked r5 1600? I dont want to spend much and just have to have rgb.

If you look at the reviews on the non renewed page its performance seems okay it's not anything stellar but you are also not paying allot. If you could go up about 10$ ish your options greatly improve. Like Hyper Cool 212 black edition https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H25DYM3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Seu3EbR12VKES a like new one is 29$ which is typically a open box unit
Deepcool Gammax gt https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074P3JCXX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_5gu3EbSWMRXXB 34$ new 33$ like new
Be quiet bk008 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KVNCEIG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dju3Eb4PDAZZ0 31$ like new

Looks like a good build. I'd personally go with https://www.amazon.com/DEEPCOOL-GT-BK-Motherboard-Supported/dp/B074P3JCXX/ for your air cooler if aesthetics are a thing. It can keep a 9700k nicely chilled stock, and it syncs with the 12V RGB on ASUS boards.
Something to consider: the 9-series is a freshly dead socket, so she won't be upgrading the CPU, but by the time she needs to, LGA1200 and AM4 will be dead sockets too, so there's that.
If you buy an EVGA video card, buy it from an authorized retailer. Once registered (within 14 days of purchase), you have 90 days to enter their Step-Up program. If the 3060 is released before that 90 days is up, it could be a nice upgrade for little to no cost, apart from shipping.

The better air coolers generally have dual towers, but if you aren't doing anything too crazy, you can probably save money and get one of the single tower coolers.
This tier list gives an idea of relative performance (with AIO coolers mixed in). https://linustechtips.com/topic/891730-cpu-cooler-performance-tier-list/
At a quick look I can see a few decent models on sale now: https://www.amazon.com/DEEPCOOL-GT-BK-Motherboard-Supported/dp/B074P3JCXX/

Also Wraith Prism is only a " good stock cooler" because it comes free. If you've got to pay for a cooler, there are MANY MANY better coolers with RGB.
COOLER MASTER HYPER 212 RGB https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H22TC1N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_fWekFbCCV4JBJ
Deepcool Gamaxxx GT https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074P3JCXX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_xWekFbXAAQZ72
ID Cooling even has one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084G3Y7KZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_RVekFbH3SAR1Z
All are RGB, all are better than AMD Wraith Stealth, all cost less if you aren't getting it for free of course.
Also, non-RGB tower coolers can have a fan swap for RGB fans. My hyper 212 EVO has some cheap rgb fans on it.
So I guess you could say my vote is for the 3600.

If you get the CPU Cooler I would also buy Thermal Paste since the thermal paste the cooler comes with is not the best.

So i found the deepcool Gammax 400V2 for slightly cheaper. But I like the look of this other one better and it has rgb capabilities. Does anyone know if performance is any better? not finding a lot online.

If you really want an RGB CPU cooler, check out ID-Cooling's SE-224-XT RGB. Its performance is on par with the Hyper 212 Evo and typically costs $35 (currently $37 on Amazon).
For those who want even more RGB, I'd recommend the SE-234-ARGB ($40). The extra few dollars gets you a fashionable RGB heat sink cover.
Other options include Deepcool's Gammaxx GT BK ($35)—which also has an RGB top cover—and the Gammaxx GT A-RGB ($33). These are both great choices if you don't want a black heat sink.
