My recommendation would be the Crucial P1

You must be just looking at an overpriced listing - a 500GB P1 should only be $60. here's an Amazon link for it

Wow, thanks for the info! I'll definitely look into the 2060 KO.

Would [this] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J2WBKXF/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_6pihEb0E5CGW9) be what you are referring to?

Appreciate your help here!

Would this SSD work for this build? I've heard that PCIe NVMe SSDs are better than SATA drives. I'm thinking of forgoing the HDD -- I really don't need that much space.

I was super satisfied with this.

Not the fastest nvme but faster than sata at a reasonable price.

Your M2 ssd has these speeds: 560 MB/s read, 530 MB/s write

How about this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J2WBKXF/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=crucial+m2&qid=1603209701&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyTVkyUFBJUEJKSE9ZJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNTQ3MDg4M0g0MVc0MUxaODdaQSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwODM3NTA1MjZIOFNXVFEwSExPVyZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl 4x faster on paper (that is the model I bought)

You could also trim some off the budget with a cheaper motherboard unless you have a specific reason for choosing the x570.

Would this SSD https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-500GB-NAND-NVMe-PCIe/dp/B07J2WBKXF work with my z97 gaming 5 motherboard? Is there anything else i should consider other than motherboard when it comes to compatibility?

>asrock 350m pro4

Yes it has an M.2 (PCIe 3) slot.

If you go the m.2 route, be sure to pick an NVMe SSD (wich is attached via PCIe) otherwise, the performance will be the same as a sata SSD.

This Crucial is not bad and cheap.

I would suggest one of the MSI B450 MAX motherboards, as for all the other B450 boards and Ryzen 3000 series, you would have to update the bios, and with the MAX boards it comes pre-updated. The Corsair SSD is very expensive for only 480, and you can get NVMe ones like the Crucial or WD ones for a lot cheaper. Besides that looks good!

1 points • Aryan20411

You could get an M.2 NVMe drive for the same price as the 2.5" SSD.

The dimension stuff means nothing it just means it can't tell you if everything will fit but your case should be able to handle it all. Also just forget what I said just switch back to https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J2WBKXF?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1 . Eventually it will fill up but you can always buy one later for cheap.

r/buildapc • comment
1 points • RavioliRascal

It also looks like the M.2 version is a tad cheaper right now than the 2.5” version, so I guess I should just go for that?

Ok, more than likely your motherboard will support NVME.

This one is right at the top of your budget but I'll admit I don't know too much about it beyond some reviews, but the crucial p1 is $59.99 at amazon right now and seems to be a good middle of the road NVME for the price If you're not planning to write massive amounts of data (like hundreds of gigs at a time)

Here's a review explaining its performance compared to some other nice ones. Tech is probably a little older but that's still miles better than a SATA SSD

https://www.pcworld.com/article/3337244/crucial-p1-nvme-ssd-review.html

And the drive.
