You guys are talking about the price of the LED's if you were to buy them separately from Amazon or something...
RGB versions of hardware are more expensive than non-RGB hardware. You don't pay just the wholesale cost of the LED's that are used, that's not how product pricing works...

Same speed, same capacity (16GB 3600/C18), $30 more because of the RGB. $30 is 33% of the price...

Cool, I'll see what I can find with those specs. I had this in my cart initially, but didn't find it on the QVL.

Took what you said to heart about Ryzen liking faster ram and did a bit of research. Would this be a better option?
Edit, if you do look at this to my understanding both these kits are actually similar speed correct?

This kit is just barely over your $100 budget, but I know people who have it and love it.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TC4TPCN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_.C0wEb00KQSDH
Personally, I have the Vengeance LPX RGB model in 3200mhz, and also love it. You can probably find 16gb of that set for around $80 now.

Was the ram showing full? Try to get ram that is as close to the original ram as you can (make/model/speed) unless you're going to replace all of your ram.
If you're replacing all of your ram, then I'd suggest something like a 16 GB 2600 MHz ram kit from Corsair.
Edit: Something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TC4TPCN
Nice bonus it's rgb.

I would recommend (if your ok with rgb) https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-PC4-28800-Optimized-Memory/dp/B07TC4TPCN/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=16gb+3600mhz+ram&qid=1606241072&sr=8-4

This one is by Corsair, a better brand. However, still CL18. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TC4TPCN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_wTW1Fb7KNN2HE

This is the exact set I have running in a Ryzen 3600/Asus b450i strix setup.
If you can't post at all then it's commonly a ram issue but without another set to try it's hard to verify this.

https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-PC4-28800-Optimized-Memory/dp/B07TC4TPCN This memory kit will do just fine if you’re going for looks. Also 3800x is just a slightly OCd 3700x, so get that instead. Get a b550/x570 if you can as well

Stop it your bringing back bad memories of me not changing 60Hz to 144Hz in Nvidia settings for a solid month xD
But if that is the case then it sounds like I’m at the default motherboard speed cause I haven’t touched a thing in bios, I’ll check into that for sure thanks for sharing.
With some help I’m going along with these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TC4TPCN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oQsuEb7GKQ859
if it’s jumping from my motherboard ram base speed to 3600Mhz should be a nice difference eh

Get air cooling for cheaper, use the money to upgrade other places. I would also recommend a bigger SSD, you'll burn through 500gb fast. Also, 1tb SSDs are slightly faster than their 500gb alternatives.
Samsungs 970 is no longer the king of NVMe SSDs, instead of that get this. Having a fast SSD is one of the most determining factors in having a snappy computer.
Comparison: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/adata-xpg-sx8200-pro-ssd,5955-3.html
You could also get slightly faster RAM if you wanted. Like 3600mhz or even 4000mhz, depending on if you want to spend the extra dollar. https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-PC4-28800-Desktop-Memory/dp/B07RM39V5F/ or https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-PC4-28800-Optimized-Memory/dp/B07TC4TPCN/

There's a Corsair Vengeance one just like your current module, its 3600MHz CL18, which is still very good.
https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Ballistix-Desktop-Gaming-BL2K8G36C16U4RL/dp/B083VMSWWJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=cl16+ddr4+3600+16gb+crucial&qid=1605553468&sr=8-3
Here's an alternative which still has RGB and is 3600MHz CL16. The modules also come in black, but they're not currently available on US Amazon.

Heres a better ram option
The one thing about the ram is the timings but its not that much of a difference, this is a 16 GB (2x8) 3600mhz kit of RAM. And it has some RGB, I think this is a great price for what it is.
1 points • diamondsw0rd
but because your budget is $150 i’m guessing you want high end here’s a sexy 32gb 3200ghz rgbbbbbbbbb ($140) and also rgb 16gb 3600mhz :))))))) ($90)

I'd look into a Ryzen CPU. Something like an R5 3600 with a b450 max board runs around 300$ with 16gb of 3600 ram totaling 390ishhhhh. The I5 does work but 4 core 4 Thread compared to 6 core 12 threads is going to be a huge upgrade. You can even splurge for a 3600X if you don't wanna mess with clocks and get a tiny more performance.
Links
R5 3600 - $175
R5 3600X - $200
B450 Tomahawk MAX - $115

Upgrade to 16GB (2x8) of faster RAM first, stick with RAM on your motherboard QVL:
https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Z390%20Phantom%20Gaming%204/index.asp#Memory
Here are a couple examples: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-3200MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B0143UM4TC/

Also, can you say what you are using for Hard drives, and SSDs?

Gskill is better but you might want to pick Trident Z NEO instead of Trident Z RGB since the NEO is basically designed for Ryzen.

or you might want to consider some Corsair Vengeance they are basically universal Ram:

Or Teamgroup, can't really go wrong with them.
