FWIW I didn't pay $700 for it, but 2 years ago all quality GPUs and RAM sticks were being sold for crazy prices because of the Bitcoin mining craze, and because of that, I still paid $530 for it and almost $200 for a set of bog standard Corsair Vengeance sticks
But still, I agree, If I was building a new PC today, I'd have a hard time not going with team red for the more reasonable priced cards

If you don’t match the speed, you’ll default all 4 sticks down to the lowest speed and highest latency. 😟(that’s bad)
This guy said in a review “My RAM was XPG Z1 DDR4 3000MHz CL16-20-20 1.35V. 2 x 8GB sticks. The motherboard was Asus Prime B450M-A.”
This should be more than good enough to mate with the other pair.

I have a 2x8 kit of this in my build. Has been really solid, no problems so far. Can’t really beat it price wise. Only downside is no RGB, but eh whatever. RGB ram in my opinion is cool but in a budget build is rather redundant

TLDR: I added additional RAM and now my PC wont boot (unless I force shutdown by holding the power button, enter BIOS then exit without saving changes).

Previously I had 16GB of DDR4 and everything was running smoothly. But now I need the additional RAM so I went and bought the exact same Vengeance LPX sticks which brings me up to 32GB of RAM. When I press the power button the motherboard very briefly goes through the boot process but then gets stuck on Q_CODE 04. Nothing happens after letting it sit for minutes, the restart button on the case doesn't work, I don't get to any boot screens so I force shutdown by holding the power button. Then I turn it back on and I get to a 'American Megatrends The system has POSTed in safe mode.... Press F1 for setup'. So I press F1 and get into BIOS, I exit without saving changes and then finally the computer boots up properly. Any idea on what's happening? When I pull up the system info it fully recognizes the new memory sticks with a total of 32GB of RAM. The computer functions fully while it's on. But if I restart it or power down/up then I have to go through the same process again.

What do you mean graphics 100%? That doesn’t make sense.
Installing ram and installing graphics cards are one of the easiest things to do in a computer, you literally just plop them out and plop the new ones in, they just fit in a slot. YouTube videos will show you.
If you don’t care about RGB then these will be good https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0134EW7G8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KD4iEb5BWEGM3
It’s two ram sticks that are 8gb each which make up 16gb.

The corsair lpx kits are pretty decent, I could recommend you higher ram speeds but you really won't lose any real-world performance with going for 3000mhz (although you can get the same kit at 3200mhz if you want)

I need Ram upgrade or replacement advice
Upgrading to 32 GB ram from 16 GB, will there be a noticeable upgrade to buying 4 of these patriot sticks 4400 mhz or should I stick to my corsair vengeance lpx 3000 mhz C15 and just buy 2 more of those.
Upgrading to 32 GB ram from 16 GB, will there be a noticeable upgrade

Fits well, but get a slightly higher frequency RAM and tune it to 3200MHz (or at least to 3000MHz): https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-3000MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B0134EW7G8
How much is the PSU you're getting? 750W is a little excessive unless you're going to add extra cooling or other components. You can get a 600-650W 'Gold' for like US $85.
2 points • Impishframe
After looking at this most of the specs look decent. I would definitely recommend upgrading to at least dual channel memory. Either by buying a 16 gb kit or adding another 8gb stick Extra stick: https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Kingston-Technology-PC4-21300-HX426C15FBK2/dp/B06XNRXCV6?th=1 New kit: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-3000MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B0134EW7G8/ref=sr_1_3?crid=12OU0YC7XPH5U&dchild=1&keywords=16gb%2Bddr4&qid=1590178270&s=electronics&sprefix=16gb%2Celectronics%2C151&sr=1-3&th=1
And I would also recommend a higher rated power supply as prebuilts are notorious when it comes to the psu. An 80 plus gold certified from corsair, seasonic,or evga should support anything you would need it for.

Hey folks!
Question about RAM and motherboard compatibility:
Motherboard (copy pasted from Cyberpower): GIGABYTE X570 UD ATX GbE LAN, 3 PCIe x16, 2 PCIe x1, 6 SATA3, 1 M.2 SATA/PCIe (Pro OC Certified)
I admit openly to not knowing a damn thing about RAM and the very first thing Amazon shows me is https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-3000MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B0134EW7G8/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=16gb+ddr4&qid=1590879596&sr=8-3
I was wondering if that will fit. The amazon check fit thing is telling me they're not sure if it'll fit and Googling is kind of failing me as I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for. If those RAM would not fit and you're willing could you just drop a link for what I should get? Suggestions very welcome. Thank you so much!

I have this mobo : ASRock Z370 PRO4
And 2x8 GB of this RAM : Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz
I'd like to go up to 32 Gb because the terrain editing tools eat it up like nothing.
Would it be as simple as just getting 2 more 8Gb sticks of the same? If I get a different type of ram (say faster than 3000Mhz) would weird stuff happen?

Planning on building a new PC and would like your thoughts on the parts list.
Hey, there! I'm planning on building a new PC, and I was hoping to get feedback on my parts list. I don't build very often, so I'm sure I'm missing something important or crucial, so I was hoping to get some oversight.
To be clear, my expectations are that this build should be able to play all modern games at High/Ultra at 1080p at 60 FPS minimum. I should also be able to play games on one monitor and watch movies/videos/streams on the other with no drop in FPS under 60 FPS.
I haven't included the costs for things like fans. I'm planning on using a Corsair Hydro cooler from my previous build as the CPU cooler.
Thanks for your feedback!
>Case: Corsair Carbide Series Mid Tower ATX Case
>CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-core 3.6 GHz

Trying to decide between this, Ballistix and Corsair Vengeance
1 points • Parogarr
I overclocked my CPU from 4.6ghz (all cores) to 4.8ghz (all cores). This got me ALMOST to 60fps in Cyberpunk 2077. For most sections of the game, I am at 60fps. During the big-city areas, I am constantly dropping as low as 48 but usually mid-50s. And my CPU usage shoots up to 99%
My cooler is: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005O65JXI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
During full-load, it can get a bit hot because of my overclock (about 75c under FULL load. About 35c idle)
For ram, I'm using 32gb of dual channel memory (it's definitely running in dual channel)

ASRock Memory Support
Hi everyone,
This is the motherboard that I am planning to get: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450Mac/
Along with this RAM: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-3000MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B0134EW7G8/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=ram&qid=1590158409&sr=8-2
On the memory QVL for Matisse CPUs the listed supported speed for this memory is 3000MHz. However, under specifications, 3000MHz is not a RAM speed that is explicitly supported, with the closest speed being 2933MHz. I was just wondering if the RAM will really run at 3000Mhz, or whether it will run at 2933MHz.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Just to clarify, the motherboard has a maximum supported speed of 3200MHz

Looking to upgrade my suuuper old rig's cpu/motherboard/ram (still on ddr3...), inexpensively, yet efficiently. How are these?

2) Intel Core i5-9400F CPU
3) Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB RAM

OK help me with this. I'm looking right now at a few upgrades i could do at once, and is more than I was willing to spend but looks to be the only options. I was going to get a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 , a Gigabyte B450M DS3H motherboard, and then Corsair 16gb of ram. Will this make that much of a difference to my setup? or is it not worth it.
1 points • The-Mumen-Rider
I'd go with a 580 or the 1060 6gb. The extra VRAM will help a ton over the 3gb.
Also, I took a look at your build and you could save money if you went to a 240gb SSD which plenty for the OS and media and store your games on the HDD. That's what I did and it works great. Also go for the Corsiar 3000mhz RAM since the 2200 g processor doesn't really take advantage of faster RAM. Lastly, go for the Ryzen 2600 since you just saved money by making the above switches and you'll get a MUCH faster CPU.

Ok. I think you’re gonna have to make some serious budget cuts to begin with, membrane keyboard, cheap mouse, mouse pad and headset. I would buy a second hand monitor and use whatever u have left over on the pc. You probably won’t have the budget for any high end rgb lighting or an aio. The best budget cuts would be a cheaper case, an hdd instead of ssd, ryzen over intel, amd over nvidia, cheaper power supply (but not too cheap that it could be dangerous) and totally scraping any extra Aesthetics (rgb, cable extensions, etc)

Hey y'all, I'm upgrading my small form factor htpc RAM and switching out the hard drive for an SSD. I've never done something like this before, so any help or advice would be awesome.
This is what I use as my HTPC, an "HP Ultra Slim" .
I also got this mount for the SSD just in case.
Does all of that look good? Just swap out for the existing parts?

as long as your ram is in dual channel it's fine for valorant but if not you can get these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0134EW7G8/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=ozonegoods-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B0134EW7G8&linkId=323fabeb0c314b61f444cad7d65415c0
even valorant isn't won't use much ram but dual channel makes a lot of difference and i would say that getting an rtx 2070 super get you to 240 fps https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0856BVRFL/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=ozonegoods-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B0856BVRFL&linkId=e3d89de2b6a2e84e37085084bc696f98

I've typed in every series of numbers/letters I can find and am still not coming up with it. I'm pretty sure, however, that it's ddr3 and 240pin, but the mobo needs 288pin. I don't really know anything about RAM, am I better off getting specific gaming RAM like https://www.newegg.com/team-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820331433?nm_mc=AFC-RAN-COM&cm_mmc=AFC-RAN-COM&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=afc-Future+Publishing+Ltd&AFFID=2294204&AFFNAME=Future+Publishing+Ltd&ACRID=1&ASUBID=pcg-us-2481966659887824400&ASID=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pcgamer.com%2F&ranMID=44583&ranEAID=2294204&ranSiteID=kXQk6.ivFEQ-ceOKHy_rUNStF.bE.lBx4g over something like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0134EW7G8?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1 ?

60-100$ Power Supply: no link sorry but don’t go cheap i can’t stress that enough so go Silverstone they are the best in my most humble opinion (go for gold if you wish but bronze is enough)
190$ GPU: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/xfx-amd-radeon-rx-580-gts-black-edition-8gb-gddr5-pci-express-3-0-graphics-card-black/6092641.p?skuId=6092641 I’m positive you can get better deal for this one I just picked this link cause it’s the only one that doesn’t fill the screen
Overall that’s 600$ give or take the rest can go to the monitor, case, and anything else you wanna add again you can lower the cpu for a better gpu if you want or decrease both for better monitor or maybe 1tb is too much but I just wanted to give you an idea its your build and I hope it comes out great

I was just throwing out the numbers, I am not really sure about the benchmarks. Looking now its like 200% better so I would have to be able to see a difference between 960 vs 2060, which is what I was thinking about.

So I am a complete noob when it comes to these things, I am putting everything in PC part picker to make sure things are compatible. Here is what I am thinking of getting:
mother board/cpu: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082L27J3F/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
RAM:
Video:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YXQ19NC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
I am getting this error message: "Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions."
I am assuming since these are a combo piece, the BIOS of the motherboard would be updated right?
Thanks for all the help, this stuff can be really overwhelming for new people.
