In my opinion, you'd be better off saving the money and buying a better aftermarket cooler. With the money you save from going with a Ryzen 5 3600, you can get a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black RGB which will perform better than the stock Wraith Prism on the Ryzen 7 CPUs.

If you're just going to leave it at stock then you can probably just get a [Hyper 212 Black] (https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-RR-212S-20PC-R1-Direct-Contact/dp/B07H22TC1N/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=hyper+212+black&qid=1603396591&sr=8-3) to make it look pretty.
But I would just spend the extra $15 on the Fuma 2 I linked earlier. That will be a set it and forget it purchase. You can actually further increase the Fuma's performance by changing out the fans as well.
There's no real maintenance on AIO but they do have a limited life, contain moving parts which may increase chance of failure, and water itself is risky due to the possibility of leaks. But the performance is undeniable. I just don't think water cooling is necessary for stock clocks / power limits.

The RGB fan doesn't have a diffuser, but it does have more blades of smaller chord, and a less rounded inlet profile.

Nobody needs the complications of AIO’s unless you need the cooling capacity for some unique situation.
Otherwise save your money and put it into faster memory, more storage, etc.

U don't need a higher end PC unless you wanna play AAA games at 4k. 1080p runs on most mainstream cards. Even a 1660 Super can touch 1080p 144fps if you tweak the settings. And it costs what ? Less than 250$ easily.
AMD gives better price to performance in CPUs, but Intel is still better for high framerates. That doesn't mean the Ryzen 5 3600 will not work, but it is much cheaper and also versatile for the next 4 years being multi threaded. As for the Graphics card, the 500$ 2070 Super is essentially like the 3rd best card right now. After that u have the 700$ 2080 Super and 1200$ 2080 Ti.
About other parts, the motherboard has all the bells and whistles you could need for a gaming system. Right now, I've given you dual channel 16GB 3200MHz CL16 RAM, kind of like the gold standard. If in 4 years games do require more, you can buy this SAME kit again, and have 32 GB of RAM. The 1TB PCIe NVMe drive is among the fastest, the system boots up in a jiffy and will be enough for most of your steam library. Should you run out, an extra cheap hard drive later will do just fine. Because as a game storage drive, it is not running continually for the OS, so works much faster. The power supply is 600W, can even run a system with 2080 Ti and i9 or Ryzen 9. The case is cheap, beautiful, does the work and has enough fans for more than optimal air flow. Also, the stock cooler, I am now going to say get another one, like this one Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo cheap, reliable, RGB. Kind of like a bare minimum for after market coolers. I recommend this since the stock cooler can run loud even during idle so..

Ok so these are different than a fan cooler, right? These are specifically for the processor, not just to cool the “inside” of the tower? I think I’m a bit confused by this.
I have this item as a cooler:

But I’m starting to think that that may not work? Do I need a different cooler as a replacement? Or as an addition?

CPU Cooler Recommendations for 3600?
Hi there,
Now that summer is coming up I'm starting to notice my system temps rise a bit. While my GPU isn't affected too much, my CPU is at about 55-60 C with 3% load.. that's a bit toasty for my liking.
I'm looking to upgrade from the stock cooler but I'm not sure what good options are. I'm ideally looking to spend under $50 but if there is a better more expensive option then I would consider it.
Right now, I could either go with air or liquid cooling (budget side of things).
I'm looking at the Hyper 212 or the Master Liquid. Which one would be a good option? I feel like the Hyper 212 has more value but if a lower end aio will be good enough I'd consider it too.
Does anyone have experience with either of this products or have any other recommendations?
Thanks!
Note: I would prefer RGB or at least an all black aesthetic.

EDIT: Saw this after posting, is this a good option also? How does it compare to the hyper 212

Over clock is making the CPU faster then the manufacturer intended.

In that case I like StatsShado's list except:
Since you are not overclocking the CPU, an Air cooler is just fine. Stock works too. I cannot recall if the stock is RGB.
https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Hyper-Direct-Contact/dp/B07H22TC1N?th=1
I agree with the 512GB boot SSD. His brand is fine, just upsize it to 512GB/500GB
While they are going to be hard to get in October, the Nvidia 3070 is what you should get. Faster and cheaper then the 2080. Availability is going to be the issue.

Lastly, optional, could be to change the board for a MSI B550 Tomahawk. The board Has PCIE4, but none of the extras that the X570 boards have, and should be slightly cheaper.

If high temps persist, and I expect it will with a stock cooler on a 3700x (They get the job done, but just barely) then you could look at investing in a decent but budget friendly air cooler for \~40-50$. One option on sale right now for 34.99$ with Prime: https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-RR-212S-20PC-R1-Direct-Contact/dp/B07H22TC1N/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=air+cooler&qid=1602668896&sr=8-4

I think i will stick with that Intel, just because now i see its a little bit better.. But i have problem with cooling, i've seen people getting 100 °C with some coolers.. So im trying to find really really good one. I know the Noctua U12A is like the god of coolers for this cpu, but do i really need a 100$ cooler? I found this Cooler Master for half of the price and it has the same RPM, but it has 2 times less amount of airflow.. Does that airflow do that much difference?
2 points • GeorgeMKane
You should be able to get either or then. Either or would improve temperatures, but the dark rock PRO 4 would do it better. Hope it helps. :)

EDIT: Either one will come with thermal paste in the box (NOT PRE-APPLIED), so make sure you apply it to the processor, before attaching.

I would highly reccomend a aftermarket CPU cooler especially since you have 3900x. With the wraith spire cooler it will run very loud. Plus you have a budget of 3k so I would at least go with something like this of something more high end like this other than that and what u/belch39 said it looks good

I do t think they have one comparable to the 212. But the 212 Black is a very nice looking cooler that is budget friendly and works much better than the stock one. I would go with that if I were you. Also depending on where you live the Scythe coolers are supposed to be good
Noctua is a little more but they are regarded as some of the best Air coolers in the market. I am just not a fan of the colors

The better air coolers generally have dual towers, but if you aren't doing anything too crazy, you can probably save money and get one of the single tower coolers.

Also Wraith Prism is only a " good stock cooler" because it comes free. If you've got to pay for a cooler, there are MANY MANY better coolers with RGB.

ID Cooling even has one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084G3Y7KZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_RVekFbH3SAR1Z
All are RGB, all are better than AMD Wraith Stealth, all cost less if you aren't getting it for free of course.
Also, non-RGB tower coolers can have a fan swap for RGB fans. My hyper 212 EVO has some cheap rgb fans on it.
So I guess you could say my vote is for the 3600.
