I got this charger off amazon and it works. I bought that along with a thicker USB C cable meant for thunderbolt charging. It’s not a super fast charger but it works. If you’re gaming or doing graphics work it will not charge it. Meant more for surfing the web and doing light work.

USB C Charger, RAVPower 90W... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083ZBXXN5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

This is the one is use with my prestige.

https://www.amazon.com/Charger-RAVPower-Charging-Compatible-Nintendo/dp/B083ZBXXN5/ref=mp_s_a_1_26?dchild=1&keywords=usb+c+laptop+charger+65w&qid=1589761594&sr=8-26

Also, it’s not the cable, it’s the power output that’s the problem. To trip the circuit into charging requires Atleast 65 watts. The replacement charger for the prestige is type c and 90 watts if you want an OEM one. I’d recommend a good magnet connector as well, the thunderbolt ones carry power and data quite nicely.

Cool beans. Must admit I picked up this charger from RAVPower back in May for use with my Win Max. Hoping it doesn’t end up having similar issues. :/

No, not with modern tech, mind you, most laptops have system power supplies <150W, so laptops are going to be limited in total output anyway, but take a look at state of the art PD: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083ZBXXN5/

This is a 90W 2-port (65W simultaneous) 2.56x2.56x1.26” Gallium Nitride (GaN) based USB-C PD supply. The bulk of its size is the AC plug, filtering, and the AC isolation. In a laptop you’d just be converting from system DC to PD, so you very well could make a laptop with 2 or 3 high output ports without compromising form factor or increasing weight too much, of course your batteries wouldn’t last long and you’d need a lot more pricey GaN.

That's how I feel now-- I know my 15" has more powerful hardware... But man it would be nice to be a bit more mobile.

your suggestion actually led me to this product that I think was very recently released, it looks like it's everything I need in a power brick, should be able to replace both of the bricks I was planning on bringing!!

Yep that was it! I just switched to a RAVPOWER 90W with GAN and it works perfectly. I'm super happy!

Here's the charger I bought. I'm so happy with it I bought another...

I am testing the same. I have the Rav power 90w gan charger to get 90w to it. It works well but I haven't timed it from 0 to 100% yet. Just make sure you are using a cable that supports up to 100w charging.

At first I thought it's not on amazon but it is just under a different ASIN: https://www.amazon.com/Charger-RAVPower-Charging-Adapter-Compatible/dp/B083ZBXXN5/ Much, much cheaper here in Canada, nice find. It wasn't there in the morning! Indeed the Canadian one says it's available since Feb. 5 2020.

This one goes to 90 watt, has good reviews and travels well. I was going to get this but Dell gave me a second charger for free so I have two already. One stays at home and one in my bag.

any of the newer (actually on sale, not kickstarter etc) GaN-based chargers should do the trick.

example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088666T68/ or https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083ZBXXN5/

You want those because smaller/lighter vs standard tech.

Looks to be a variation on the RavPower 90w model.

I've been testing the RavPower for the last week or so and it's fine, but the 45/45w split doesn't work well for me because I have one higher power laptop that needs at least 60w to recognize the charger and leaving a usb-c to lightning cable plugged in to the second port forces it into 45w mode even with no load attached.

Otherwise seems like a solid unit. Charges my X1 Extreme faster than some other similarly marketed units, although nothing near a real 100w. There is a review somewhere of the Ravpower that shows the efficiency is quite poor.

I see. So then how why are we able to see products like this with 2 type C ports at 45watts each, but adding 2 extra ports with +15watts each makes it $300 and a behemoth?

I second this. I have the 15" 1650ti and also use the two port aukey charger it works great. It's actually all I have used since I bought the machine other than when it's dock. Charge speed is fine but I don't have specific numbers on it.

Edit: Just double checked I actually use this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083ZBXXN5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_QJAZFbEZBQBE8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

The X1E needs 100W to charge, unfortunately. For this to work, you'll need a USB-C source and a 100W cable with the proper ID chip in it to signal to the USB bus that it works.

https://www.amazon.com/Charger-RAVPower-Charging-Compatible-Nintendo/dp/B083ZBXXN5 is a charger I can confirm works with https://www.amazon.com/uni-Braided-Compatible-MacBook-Galaxy/dp/B07LF1FNRV .

I have the late 2019 OLED model and I use this 61w USB-C brick. It's super small and has insanely good thermals. I guess the only issue for you would be that it won't be the fastest charging your laptop can handle. If you want the FASTEST one then I recommend this 90w brick. The cable I use is this 10ft braided cable that can handle up to 100w.

This portable charger outputs 27W and is the one I'm using. I can't seem to get the N20U to use super fast charging but fast charging works. Can also be used as a USB-C hub which can be useful.

I haven't personally used this dual wall charger but it looks like it should get the job done.

The 87W charger I was thinking of would be an Apple one, but I was mainly just using it as an example.

What got me wondering about this is there are higher wattage GAN usb C chargers being released such as this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Charger-RAVPower-Charging-Compatible-Nintendo/dp/B083ZBXXN5/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=gan+charger&qid=1591192697&sr=8-3

The charger above says it can handle up to 90W. If I buy an appropriate USB C or Thunderbolt 3 cable that can handle that wattage, will the XPS be able to charge at or close to 90 watts?

I already have a 65W charger but it of course charges pretty slowly and lately I have been seeing this issue where my XPS's screen will start to flicker slightly while plugged into it at low brightness. This issue doesn't happen using the stock charger or while on battery power. I would like a second charger, ideally one that is more compact and universal than the included Dell AC adapter.

Are the usb-c power banks off the shelf/self contained? As in, do they charge through usb-c and have all the necessary charging circuitry built in? If so, you basically need to design a power supply like this: https://www.amazon.com/Charger-RAVPower-Charging-Compatible-Nintendo/dp/B083ZBXXN5/

There will probably be some usb protocol to get it to charge at max power. Is it usb-c PD?

If not, its a much bigger task as each power bank will need a charge controller to balance the cells, and provide protection during discharge, plus you need to design the power supply above.

In general, first design the circuit (typically done after you've confirmed it works through breadboarding/prototyping/modeling/simulation), next pick the components, then build or import the footprints, design the board layout, double and triple check everything mechanical and electrical, get the boards fabricated and assembled, then when everything comes back you test, debug and document any mistakes, and repeat.

RavPower has a similar charger, but it outputs 90W, 60+30W, or 45+45W. It's about half an inch larger, 0.2 inch thicker, and weighs 184g. While not as portable the higher output might be worth the extra size and weight for some people.

I use RavPower's 61W USB C and A charger with my T480 when traveling. It's about the same size as the Aukey charger and has a slightly lower output, but it's perfect for someone who needs a USB A port in addition to USB C.

I'm hoping to just use RavPower's 45W super slim charger once I get my Volta Spark cables. It's what I use when I'm just taking my laptop with me as it easily fits in the outside pocket of my laptop shoulder bag.

That's a good question, and I don't have an answer for you, but assuming you can use something a little under that 65w mark well, I have one of these and it's pretty good:

If you want to be safe same company makes a beefier version:

We use all of these and they all have worked flawlessly:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PLR7T1M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/anker-powercore-26800-mah-portable-charger-for-most-usb-devices-black/6377110.p?skuId=6377110

The RAVPower options are very compact and lightweight. I only include the Anker PowerCore because it includes both a great portable battery and the USB C charger in one package. Don't waste your money on Apple chargers. They cost more, bring nothing more to the table, and are no more reliable.
