I've had two problems with the Rift S so far.

The first one was Steam games messing up the desktop control in Dash. While a Steam game was running anytime I'd try doing something on my desktop in Dash, it'd close that screen and pull up a "Now Playing" window. That was easily fixed by adding "vrserver.exe" as a game in the Oculus library. Don't have to do anything with it, just have it there and it's worked fine ever since.

The second problem was my game's performance in Pavlov. Both in SteamVR mode and Oculus direct mode the game runs a bit worse than it did on my O+. It makes zero sense why, so I just dropped some settings down a tad and it runs fine again.

As for problems with controls I can't think of any I've run into. I haven't had any tracking issues in FPS games now either. It took me a little bit to readjust to Skyrim's different controls, but I like them more now for the most part.

The O+ was also my entry into VR, I didn't wanna spend more if I wasn't sure I was going to like it, so I know what you mean. I'd say the Rift S is worth full price, I was lucky to get a small discount of $50 off. My main problem with it is the audio, but it has a jack on it so you can just use earbuds or something like this if it bothers you too much. Sure is way more comfortable though, I don't get marks on my face after wearing it for longer sessions like I did the O+.

Edit: Oh, make sure you know your IPD for the Rift S. It doesn't have a manual adjustment so if you're outside its range it might not be a good experience for you. I'm at 63.5mm so it's perfect for me.

Exactly what I came here to say. I personally own a Rift S for my PCVR setup and I'm very happy with my purchase. The only real negative is the audio kinda sucks on the Rift S, but I bought these VR focused headphones and it fixed my issues.

I almost got them, but went logitech pro headphones for quest 2. They work nicely and for all systems. A part of me wants to still buy these to experiment with but am not sure if the sound quality is worth it especially compared to the DAS pretty decent sound. If I see more positive reviews and they aren't all sold out I might grab a pair to travel with.

Couple Reviews say these will work with the quest. I haven't purchased yet because I'm thinking the Vrcover I have won't work with it. https://www.amazon.com/Bionik-BNK-9007-Mantis-Headphone-Playstation/dp/B0735X5M4X/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=psvr+headphones&qid=1582821165&sr=8-2

Anyone tried these? I saw Tyriel Woods using them with his Quest 2 and it looked almost like they were made for it.

Use these myself and they work great. Just crank the headstrong to it's largest size and slip the clips over the thin part of the band. https://www.amazon.com/Bionik-BNK-9007-Mantis-Headphone-Playstation/dp/B0735X5M4X/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=mantis+vr+headphones&qid=1599570046&sprefix=mantis+vr+&sr=8-3

You might get some audio latency with Bluetooth earbuds. I use theBionik Mantis headphones for the PSVR. The bass won’t be nearly as good as the m50x headphones, but they sound fantastic for the price. You will have to over extend the spring clip to get them on the headband, but they are pretty durable.

You're gonna want a pair of these. The Rift S speakers are shit, and these fit on the halo perfectly.

Rift S? I've heard these are compatible with the Rift S https://www.amazon.com/Bionik-BNK-9007-Mantis-Headphone-Playstation/dp/B0735X5M4X

Might need to find the co.uk link but they should be available in the EU.

These work great and look great.
You do have to move the Rift's cable management bracket off its notch, but I managed to do it without breaking anything and for the last 4 months the rift s for me has just been a plug and play experience.

The audio quality is good enough that I never even think about it, but if you're an audiophile you might want to look into a custom mod. There's 3d printable brackets you can buy or download that will let you attach any other gutted headphones to the headstrap. Like the modicap Rift S Soundkit

I got the aftermarket PSVR clip on headphones and I'm happy. It's not half as good as a dedicated headset but it's easier than having another thing on my head over the Rift S Halo.

u/Sacco_Belmonte made an EQ for bionik mantis headphones. These also look the most OEM with the Quest 2.

Yeah, VRcover! Well worth the investment.

Basically the Quest 2 and Quest 1 are good headsets, that you have to spend extra money on to get a premium headset experience haha.

For me i've gone

VRcover (ships worldwide)

Vive Deluxe Audio Strap

3D Printed adapter (thingverse file available here)

Bluetooth mic (for games that are still having passthrough issues)

The headphones I talked about are the Bionic Mantis Headphones now these will sound 100% better than the in headset speakers, but they aren't quite as good as the Vive Deluxe Audio, and probably not going to compare to a really good set of headphones you already own. With that said, it's worth it for the convienience and they will clip straight onto the elite headstrap

I am using my Quest 1 at the moment, simply because it's the best headset i've found in terms of IPD, but that's just me, other people may not see the benefit of upgrading their quest.

Here are some things I picked up:

I chose not to try / use the facial interface from that AMVR set because I wear glasses and didn't want to risk getting too close to the lenses. May eventually buy some prescription lenses for the Rift S.
