To deal with the impending TP shortage, get a bidet for $40 to cut down on TP usage.

I have a basic one that's male/female and cold water. I'm an apartment dweller who keeps moving, so being able to move it is important with me which most heated aren't. I only got to use the fancy one's in Japan a few times, so heated is probably really nice but not worth splurging on yet for me.

Buy one of these is simple and works great. In the instructions they offer you a free valve to reduce water pressure if you need it.

Bidets cost about $25-50 depending on the brand. You can get some that attach to your toilet.
Edit: $39.28 if you get it in blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P2XZDGG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_VP6HFbWXEYQC7

I just bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P2XZDGG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I know virtually nothing about plumbing and got through it pretty easily.
The instructions with it I thought were super easy to follow.
I did knock the float against the tank wall so that stumped me at first when it wouldn’t stop running upon filling the tank back up. Happened while tightening the hose connection. But that was just a simple repositioning fix.

I use this one. I bought it specifically for the dual heads. One for butt, the other for lady parts. Great for periods/post pregnancy rinse offs. That one isn't as much of a pressure washer.

After our trip to Malaysia a few years ago we decided it was pretty amazing. Also went pretty simple with a cheap Amazon special. Would love to get a fancy one someday too.
Been going strong for almost 3 years so far so not too shabby quality.

Honesty, I’ve bought the full on electric powered heated scented ones (bio bidet) and it cost a lot of money ($400 or so). And it really wasn’t worth it. Then it wound up breaking and I replaced it with the above.
It’s easy and I never really needed warmed butt water. But then again I live in San Diego so the water isn’t frozen in the winter like when I used to live in Boston

I'll second the installation of a bidet. I have this one. Prior to Rona it was only like $35!

$38. No heat or anything fancy but you probably don't really need that, and installing electricity for it can complicate the job enormously

You should get a bidet anyway. You can get an attachment for around $30 and the tp use goes way down. Helps even during non virus times. I’ve had this one for years. https://www.amazon.com/Bidet-Non-Electric-Mechanical-Attachment-Self-Cleaning/dp/B00P2XZDGG/ref=sr_1_45?keywords=Bidet+attachment&qid=1584066132&sr=8-45

I have one of these on every toilet in the house:
https://www.amazon.com/Bidet-Non-Electric-Mechanical-Attachment-Self-Cleaning/dp/B00P2XZDGG/
Best $38 you can spend in your life. It installs with no tools but a screwdriver in about 10 minutes. (The wand-based bidets are lame. This one is the real deal.)
I haven't bought toilet paper in years. It's wasteful and unnecessary.

I bought this bidet last year and it's amazing. Majorly cuts down on toilet paper use.

I got this one just as panda was growing: https://www.amazon.com/Bidet-Non-Electric-Mechanical-Attachment-Self-Cleaning/dp/B00P2XZDGG/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=luxe+bidet&qid=1600197937&s=hi&sr=1-6
I have bumpers with it. Works fine. One thing I don't know what to deal with is, um, what I'll call over-spray. At max pressure, itresults in some water spraying onto the toilet seat. Maybe different butts yield different results.

This is what I have

Isn't what you'd call a "nice" one but I like it because it's simple. Oh they make them with warm water and adjustable nozzles and I'm sure they're very nice, but that requires a power outlet and a warm water tap. Then you're running a ground-fault power outlet and a water line, and that's basically a home renovation.
That's way too much, keep it simple.
Consider this version that has two nozzles, the other one is for women.

The Luxe Neo 185 is perfect. It has the feminine wash and the backside wash. It's currently $40 on Amazon. Be sure to get the T-Adapter to help with the water pressure settings. Also, I would grab some Toilet Seat Bumpers to help keep your toilet seat level after you install the Luxe.
