Get these. It's cheap, performs well at stock, and really easy to overclock if you ever want to get into it.

I would suggest this one instead, I have it and it's running at 3733c14 in my pc, it's an overclocking champ.

Edit: Besides that I would say that 3600cl19 would performance very slightly better than 3200c16 at stock but 3200c16 might overclock better.

Yes I got them today, ordered them yesterday. I’m a little confused. I paid $79 and the 3200cl16 is $75?

Just get something like https://www.amazon.com/Ballistix-Sport-PC4-25600-288-Pin-Memory/dp/B07MNJP6RW

It's faster than the ram you have now and less expensive that buying another of yours. You can sell the one you have on ebay for a few bucks probably.

Want honest advice? If you are within return period of that 32gig stick - return it. Get 2x8gigs of literally any memory and set it up dual channel. For regular usage/gaming even the memory speed won't be that relevant, even for a Ryzen CPU system, be it 2400, or 3000 or 3600. But since there is pretty much no difference in price for memories around the 3000 speed mark, you can just grab one of those kits, they are as low as 70$. I bought this kit 3 months ago and there is no difference from my 2400 kit I had before "upgrading":

This set I ordered last year:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MNJP6RW

Crucial BLS2K8G4D32AESBK

edit: I overclocked it to 3600MHz 16-19-19-19-38

I'd say get this kit instead of either one: https://www.amazon.com/Ballistix-Sport-PC4-25600-288-Pin-Memory/dp/B07MNJP6RW/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=crucial+ballistix+3200&qid=1585070522&sr=8-3&swrs=B113D8125A76F0922ACF4FFB5729EAFE

This will have similar stock performance to the two kits you were looking at, is usually a similar price, and is an Overclocking champ if you ever decide you want to try RAM Overclocking.

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but maybe someone can help me out on this. Will this kit of RAM work with these other 16GB kit of Crucial memory?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MNJP6RW/

I bought them last year on Amazon Prime Day 2019. I know the heat spreaders are mismatched, but that isn't a concern for me. I'd just like to know if I would be able to use the kit I currently have alongside the kit in this post.

I realize the subtimings are probably different, but I'd just like a definitive answer one way or the other. Thank you guys!

“Overclocks” the ram. If you have 3000 ram you have to turn on docp and set the ram timing to 3000 to get it to run that speed.

Ram like this would be my recommendation. Decent speed. Micron E die so a very high quality ram and can overclock eventually if you want to.

Which CPU? Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 3200MHz is a good choice due to overclocking potential.

You shouldn't have any trouble on a 3700X. Motherboard compatibility generally doesn't matter on 3rd gen Ryzen.

Just be aware both of those are grossly overpriced and won't get you any better performance than $60 bargain bin oloys from newegg.

If you want ram that doesn't gouge you in price + overclocks very very well, grab https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MNJP6RW/ which have micron e-die.

Now I would have mentioned that you probably won't be able to run Ryzen headless on most boards, something to do with the bios, but I see you've added a graphics card in there so it's not, well, headless.

Now if you want and/or need to remove said graphics card later, it - again probably- won't boot. Just as an FYI.

I would get a different set of RAM, ryzen likes micron e-die, get the crucial sport lt 3200

I would just get the Crucial Ballistix LT ram with 3000 CL15 or 3200 CL16 and overclock it to 3600 CL16. It is insanely overclockable and works great with ryzen.

If you want to split hairs, this is the Kit I Got 3200 MHz for $75. I heard the Crucial Ballistix Sport can overclock to 3600 without much effort. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MNJP6RW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The crucial ballistix sport lt 3200 mhz CL 16 (on Amazon US) is generally considered pretty good and cost efficient. It is micron E die RAM and can be overclocked. It generally works well with Ryzen per discussion on the AMD subreddit and tech youtube reviews.

Crucial also sells a newer version with an upgraded heat fin/spreader (slightly larger heat spreader I believe). The newer version is not labeled "sport LT" but it is also micron E die. The newer version is slightly more expensive than the sport LT. Newer version on Amazon US

I'm running cheap-ass 3200/CL16 Crucial RAM. 3733MHz, 1.4v, 16-19-14-36-56-540-1T, 65.6ns in AIDA. The memory kit can do 3800MHz with loosed tRCD and tRP, but my CPU doesn't do 1900MHz FCLK, so I settled for these settings.

I originally went with a 2x16GB TridentZ 3600/CL16 kit, but one of the fuckers died on me after three weeks. I went and bought that Crucial while I'm still waiting on that kit being replaced.

I am a newbie, will I be able to run my RAM at full speed with this board and a Ryzen 5 1600AF? Or do I buy this board? These are the ones that I have in my area that fit my budget

like another commenter said, you can downgrade to B450 without any real difference with your use case since you don't have any plans to OC but I'd potentially put the extra $100 towards a 2070S instead of a 5700XT. while it'll have marginal improvements in terms of performance, there's the whole 5700xt fiasco with their drivers being unstable.

However, it's still likely a small minority of people being vocal about the issue, but there's next to no one complaining about nvidia about driver issues (only complaints about the premium). The monitor is also reportedly G-SYNC compatible so you won't lose the adaptive sync

As for RAM, if you don't mind doing a bit of overclocking, you can get the ballistix sport LT instead since a lot of a people have reported success overclocking it to 3600 C16.

just my $0.02

I would highly recommend getting a Crucial (Micron) LT RAM kit, it easily overclocks to 3600MHz CAS 14 on Ryzen 3000 series CPU memory controllers:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MNJP6RW $74.99

White color to match the case, and it's a high quality PSU since I didn't see one listed:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JHRLXWG $128.99

Decent Cherry MX Red mechanical gaming keyboard suggestion:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X4Y5RDC $49.99

I'm posting 2 build options, using parts from Amazon - Build A uses a CPU with integrated graphics which is plenty to handle MS Office and even basic video editing (take a look at Filmora9 - either system can run it and about $60 for one-time purchase), while Build B uses a CPU and a separate GPU, which can easily handle any of the tasks you throw at it and is overkill, but will last a long time and probably handle future tasks better. Everything else - all internal parts, Windows 10, copy of MS Office 2019 - is shared between builds. Common parts explanations and links to Amazon page sites below (since pcpartpicker doesn't link to Amazon anymore for some reason):

Motherboard: Good basic motherboard with extra RAM slots should you get into more technical video editing and need more RAM.

Memory: 16GB is plenty for the tasks you listed and should really be all you need even in the future, unless you plan to do serious video editing.

Storage: 1 500GB m.2 SSD for quick boots, and 1 2TB hard drive for a lot of storage.

Case: Nice case with pretty good airflow - this means the fans can spin slowly to cool everything, which means less noise. Included a pack of 5 quiet case fans that you can control through the motherboard and run very slowly for minimal noise; the case really only needs 3 of them - the 5-pack of fans costs less than buying 3 individually, so thus why it's added.

Power Supply: Decent power supply; 450w is enough for either system.

Wifi/Bluetooth Adapter: Nice unit lots of great reviews, strong wifi reception and strong reliable connection.

Software: Windows 10 Home; and a full copy of MS Office 2019 because though it's $200, I feel it's better to pay that once than the new 365 yearly subscription of $70.
