Right Angle Adapter

Had to ask this question myself. Asked on the discord. Got this answer from a mod. Mine are ordered.

Ended up finding these! Granted, not as compact and tiny as that button but good enough for me.

I have a couple I'm looking at now for the same reason, interested to hear other suggestions here as well. Edit: heard some good things about these little guys... Maybe someone else can chime in? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071LMRK36/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_HHjhEbJZY4EY4

I personally use these.

They work great and the speeds are the same as with the shark fin antenna. They're small and fit. I can confirm this with Aorus B550I and X570I

A lot of people get this and the recommended right angle adapters. Small with dual band wifi. Stock was an issue for me so I found them on ebay by the same maker and it was like a dollar or so cheaper.

Dunno if anyone responded, but you could probably keep most of the components you have already, including the cpu cooler. The NZXT 280mm fits in the NR200 easily, along with pretty much all your drives.

If you want to drop a bit more money I would reccomend a gigabyte b550i, try to get it on sale since I've seen it go for less than 200 before. For your build honestly an SF600 gold is enough, but if you want that extra headroom the Sf750 is good, or one of the cooler master or silverstone sfx psu. Like the comments below said you can also fit an ATX psu in there with a 3d printed mounting bracket (or some zipties), that way you can save quite a bit of dough.

Only other thing I would recommend is two more fans to put in the nr200 since it really helps with thermals, and also some SFF wifi antennas. This ones pretty good: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071LMRK36?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I know these work with the rog strix x570-i cause it works for me. Assuming that they're the same brand means it can work, and that it's still in the wifi frequency, I think it should work

Did you end-up ordering those lollipop antennas? If so, so did they also work at 2.4GHz? Many people recommend these but they aren't available from Amazon UK. I'm getting a B550 Gigabyte MoBo where the sockets are too close together for plugs with an outer casing!

>Why they didn't just stick with those, when they probably still have a shipping-container full of them, I don't understand. They just work better, and they probably still have them and still cannot get rid of them

That type of antenna might get complaints about twisting or also tipping over (then facing down) if they get loose over time.

It's something like this I'm after, if I change: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071LMRK36/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

What’s up reddit! Wanted to share my Steck build with you all. Finally downsized from an InWin A1 as I wanted to go even smaller. I was lucky enough to get the deal on that Alienware Aurora R8 on r/buildapcsales a couple of weeks ago so I decided it would be a good opportunity to build something a bit smaller and maybe pawn off some old parts to make a small profit; enough to afford me a Steck at least. I parted it out and took the i7-9700 to put into this new Steck build. (Going to sell the rest of the parts off soon.)

After doing research online, I decided to buy some aluminum bracelet blanks to superglue to my panels in order to have them slide into the case ala the Ghost S1. Credits to the redditor for this mod idea I found out about awhile back! (Can’t find the post anymore) here’s a link to the bracelet blanks.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0195HKKF8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_FfUyEbR5665TD

I also bought some replacement feet to give the case a sleeker look. A common mod, but goes a long way in improving the overall look and decreasing the size of the case a bit more. Here’s a link to the pack of rubber feet I bought on Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075KZBR2Y?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

The WiFi antennas I’m using (not pictured) can be found on Amazon. Really like the look of these and the performance has been pretty great.

Shout out to /u/nizzlefish98 for selling me the Steck. It’s been great for me and it’s a huge upgrade over the InWin A1 I’m coming from.

  • CPU: Intel i7-9700

Nah I only have two connected to each. For the BCM94360CS, I only have it connected to the wifi cause I didn’t want to go through the trouble of setting up the internal header on the motherboard just to get BT working when I could just use a USB BT adapter I already had laying around.

But yeah, I bought these antennas and some of these, which are connected to the CNVi card on the motherboard I/O cause I wanted something low profile and I just used the stock antenna that came with the motherboard with the BCM94360CS and kinda just have sitting next to my computer.

As for the pci brackets, my suggestion would be to either possibly drill an extra hole into it or buy two brackets with two holes each, or just go with a BCM94360CS.

Just updated the PC part picker as well, but I bought these ones: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071LMRK36/

They perform quite well, better than the previous ones I had. Only thing I had problems with recently was Xbox One Controller having a bit shotty connection (delay / irresponsive), but I can't say for sure if that problem is related to the antennas or not. The controllers have been working completely fine until just recently. Wifi works perfectly fine so far.

I swapped out the internal card to an Intel 9260 this past weekend and I've yet to try out the Bluetooth on it, but I know it has helped my WiFi connectivity. I also changed the antenna to 2 individual mini ones so I'm not sure if that helped as well. I'll try it tonight and report back to you.

I used short antennas for drones instead and they worked! Just make sure you find RPSMA ones if you don’t want to use the ones I have linked below. I didn’t like the way the antennas stuck out perpendicular to the motherboard so I also purchased 90 degree adapters. Enjoy!

What I'm using, similar, but shorter: Antenna and right angle adapter.

They have line-of-sight to the AP, so the inefficiency compared to bigger antenna isn't that big of a deal for me. May be in many other setups.

They're only 2 dbi. I got these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071LMRK36/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DC2374L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My desk isn't too far from my wifi router, so these work great for me. If you're running a wifi 6 router with a wifi 6 adapter, these have surprisingly good range. They're cheap enough to try and see if they work for you.

I know most get theirs from this link but it doesnt ship to where I am:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071LMRK36/

So I went looking around and found these in Taobao:

https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=606465984967

https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=525962770635

Based on my tests, I found that the right angle connectors got up to the max speed faster than the straight ones so I'd recommend those.
