With the info you have provided, I can definitely recommend this one:

Nice custom solution. How much did those extenders cost? Did you have to glue them in place?
I had a very similar problem, but I just printed two tiny brackets to mount this $9 hub.

I don't know why but I find this question extremely cute.

I personally use a 4 port USB hub attached discretely to the side of my desk (this one) so I don't have to access the rear of my case (Nouvolo Steck). Motherboard I/O in my experience is almost never easy to access, and outside of USB ports I don't really need to access anything else on a regular basis.

This will just hang off the back of your PC, not taking up any desk space. And if you’re super low on space, set the audio interface on top of your PC tower
Edit: unless you’re running a laptop, but either way, there’s probably a solution for you somehow that doesn’t involve the 3.5mm inputs

Yeah, just a standard, cheap, Anker 3.0 hub: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L32B9C2/
I guess it's actually a 2' cable, not 3'. No issues so far, though.

I use this USB hub with my Roland Juno-DS and a Behringer UM2 audio interface and have no issues.

Actually got a usb hub by anker off Amazon. Works wonderful. One usb 3 to the back of ps5 and holds both the camera and processor unit usb, as well as allowing two other open ports. So I use the other rear for my external hard drive , have the two front open and two on the hub. Only cost me ten bucks.
Idk If you’re US but

Actually they can't add more TB3 ports on it. Intel processors have a limit on the number of PCIe lanes it supports.
$80? What hubs are you getting? The most expensive adapter in my bag was $15. My USB hub was only $10 - https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Extended-MacBook-Surface-Notebook/dp/B07L32B9C2/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=usb+hub+anker&qid=1586655027&sr=8-3
You are not getting it from Apple are you? Their accessory prices are a joke.

So, I’m not really sure what you’re thinking of connecting, based on this comment. Type A to Type A cables are bad juju (why did someone think it was a good idea to build switches using them I don’t understand), and Type A to C cables aren’t really reversible.
The idea here is that the two USB-B ports go to your computers, so they should be type B (using USB A/C to B cables). The one type A port goes to your peripherals. It should go to a hub when using it for switching a Keyboard and Mouse. The hub can be the LG monitor, but it means you have to use the DisplayPort socket for the Mac (USB-C to DisplayPort would work here) and HDMI for Windows.
Here’s a hub I used which works perfectly for this so I could use the USB-C port for video: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Extended-MacBook-Surface-Notebook/dp/B07L32B9C2/

Ahh, lucky. You plug a usb hub into the USB port, and it gives you more ports.
Just as an example:

Any open USB port on your PC should work fine for your new USB headphones (I am saying this from the perspective that I don't think usb headphones would require 3.0 bandwidth). No need to convert them to analog headphone + mic to plug them in your PC. You will just need to tell Windows to play out the USB headphones via sound control panel. If you are out of USB ports on your PC you will need a splitter. Getting a splitter with around 4 ports on it like this Anker on amazon will give you some space to add more usb devices in the future.

Honestly, a simple USB hub for peripherals would be all you really need. If you're using an external display, you'll need to use the HDMI port on the G3, since that's configured to use the GPU.
This is the one I use to connect my keyboard, mouse, headset, and printer.

Sometimes ports stop working aka die. Possibly be because of a broken pin, disabled driver, windows registry error, loose motherboard cable...
A usb hub expands the amount of USB ports you can have on your computer. I totally agree. They really should have considered the PSVR setup which really only requires *one* additional port for a clean setup. I guess they don't see any problem with wires strewn all over the front of their sleek design.
Anyway, it is what it is so I just picked up a non-powered 4-port USB 3 Superspeed hub and connected it to one of the back USB-A ports. This keeps the hub and all the wires out of sight.
The hub hosts the PSVR and the PSVR camera. This leaves the other dedicated rear USB-A port is for my external USB drive.
I have my wireless headset (Pulse 3D) dongle plugged into the front USB A port. The dongle isn't too ugly so I don't mind it in the front. While the dongle can also be plugged into the USB hub, I was getting interference causing drop-outs in the audio.
I got my hands on the official PS5 Dualsense charging dock so I don't need to run any additional cables from the PS5 to charge.

I will be using an Oculus Quest, iPhone for transferring files, Xbox controllers, that's what I want it for, will it give me problems? Please let me know because I will cancel it right away.

You don't need an internal USB card to fix this issue. A simple non powered USB hub did the trick just fine. I had no audio/ error 7-14 issues on my x570 aorus ultra mb. Plugged thishttps://www.amazon.com/Anker-Extended-MacBook-Surface-Notebook/dp/B07L32B9C2/ref=pd_bxgy_img_3/146-3747588-7642253?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07L32B9C2&pd_rd_r=f565b4db-6cb0-44c4-b9ea-f02ba5894393&pd_rd_w=1f7jy&pd_rd_wg=rhjUp&pf_rd_p=f325d01c-4658-4593-be83-3e12ca663f0e&pf_rd_r=TTJRV270WYPJM1DP9TCS&psc=1&refRID=TTJRV270WYPJM1DP9TCS hub into a 3.1port(a 3.0 port may work as well idk) and it fixed it

So I guess I'm gonna have to get that adapter you originally linked. My only problem now is that I don't have any USB slots left on my PC tower. If I get a USB splitter such as the one below, would that fix my problem?
1 points • aricelle
No, a hub has only one spot to connect to the computer.
USB hub - see how it has only one male port - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L32B9C2.
USB switch - this one has two inputs for two computers - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TS5JNT3

If you need more USB3 Type-A ports with no charge of connected peripherals, a cheap USB hub should be enough - https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Extended-MacBook-Surface-Notebook/dp/B07L32B9C2. (connects to Type-A port, so you leave Type-C on the laptop open for devices that need it)

I use several of these with two of these. I haven't had any issues with my TrackIR 5, VKB L/R sticks, Tartarus v2, Crosswinds v2, a generic usb foot switch, elecom HUGE trackball, and an Xbox controller. I also daisy chain a couple. I know its piss-poor device management but it works and I have no mystery disconnects or loss of device settings.
Edit: I have VR, USB KB/M, USB Mic, and a bunch of other random BS in other motherboard or directly plugged into the host port. The devices listed above are the hubs I disconnect when I'm done playing.

I have a chair similar to this, the chair arms are important for mounting the monitor arms. I used strong sticky back velcro to hold everything together
This is my HOTAS: T16000M
Two of these monitor arms attached to my arm rests
This USB 3 hub for all the connections on the chair
and a USB 3 extension cable I keep attached to my PC
I 3D printed a hook for my headset on the back, also added some clips on the monitor arms to hold my VR controllers!

OK The most budget friendly option is a 4-port USB hub for $10: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L32B9C2
And assuming your monitor has an HDMI port, you will need a miniDP -> HDMI adapter. This is the one we specify for customer builds: https://www.amazon.com//dp/B00S0BWR2K/
If your monitor has DisplayPort, then use a miniDP->DP cable instead: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Mini-DisplayPort-Display-Cable/dp/B013PWQPFS/
That's all you need.
If you don't like these options, please share your budget and other desires/requirements.

I did this probably about 2-3 months ago when I thought my Pi 3 was going on the fritz. I used the Google Drive Backup addon to create a backup of my original setup. Once I installed the newest version of Home Assistant (hassio) on the new RPI4 (4Gb) using a 128Gb card, I installed the Google Drive Backup addon. I was able to restore my previous setup without any problems. It took like 30min, but worked flawlessly.
As far as performance goes, the only metric that really maters to me (besides the system functioning) is how fast HomeAssistant will restart. On my Pi3 B+, restarts took 6-8 min, on the Pi4 they're less than 60sec. So a drastic improvement.
I've not had any problems with cooling, although I bought this kit which comes with a case that has a fan.
I have an aeotec Z-wave stick. When I first installed on the RPI4, I had no problems with my Zwave network. After a couple of updates though, I ran into the issue where it wouldn't see it, so I bought a USB hub and plugged it in via that, no problems now.
If you're wondering should you upgrade, I would absolutely. I was going to use the RPI4 as a bandaid until I could justify to myself to buy a dedicated NUC, but at this point the RPI4 does everything I want it to do, so I don't see a need to upgrade anytime in the near future!

I wanted to add a few items that are useful for portability and price (all of the MIDI controllers are USB-connected, so I'll include a nice, cheap USB hub as well):
novation
- Launchpad Mini Mk3 — $110 USD 64-pad controller I use as a miniature 4-octave keyboard and drumpad
- You can set up custom modes in the included software. I made a custom mode where pads are joined in 2x2 sections (makes it easier to finger drum since the pads are rather small).
- This controller was made for Ableton, so it works with very little setup there.
- Launch Control XL Mk2 — $160 USD portable mixer with 24 knobs, 16 buttons, and 8 faders
- This product is also Ableton integrated, and it can be customized with novation software.
- Has the ability to swap between tracks and plugin-controls with a "Device" button and arrow selectors.
M-Audio
- Keystation 49 Mk3 — $120 USD USB keyboard with volume fader, mod wheel, pitch-bend, octave selectors, and plenty of included software
- This one is pretty much plug and play with a fair amount of included software licenses.
- The keys aren't the best quality I've ever experienced, but they work for the price range.
iZotope
- Spire Studio — $300 USD portable condenser mic / 8-track recording studio with 4hr+ unplugged battery life and 6hr recording time built-in.
- This is much more based on portablility than price, but it's a powerful little device that's about the size of a medium Folger's coffee can (but shorter).
- Audio quality is great, and it pairs wirelessly with the free Spire Studio app to give you recording effects with real-time monitoring through two 3.5mm headphone jacks.
- This also has two XLR ports with 48V phantom power for external microphones.
- You can record up to 8 tracks per project and mix/export them without a DAW through the app.
AKG
- M92 Studio Monitor Headphones — $60 USD high-quality headphones.
- I tested these out using my headphones testing playlist on Spotify, and all of the songs sound phenominal.
- The cord is really long as well. Depending on your use, you may want to look into a roll of velcro tape to control the length.
I'll add more items to this list over time, but so far these have all served me well. Also, here's a cheap USB hub for connecting these devices:
