Would something like this work? https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DisplayPort-HDMI-Cable-Feet/dp/B015OW3M1W/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?adgrpid=57676994564&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIi_rz2_rw5gIViJOzCh1dxA6aEAAYASAAEgL5jPD_BwE&hvadid=274709859023&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=9053163&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t1&hvqmt=e&hvrand=6392361403280515767&hvtargid=kwd-11030145955&hydadcr=19227_9665611&keywords=displayport+to+hdmi&qid=1578381886&sr=8-3

I think just switching to display cables and leaving my hdmi for Vr would be a good idea so sorry to ask you this but. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015OW3M1W Do you think this will work?

Look into DP to HDMI cables please, perhaps something like this could work: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DisplayPort-HDMI-Cable-Feet/dp/B015OW3M1W?th=1
Definitely do more research on it before purchasing though, but this might actually solve your problem based on my limited 10 minute research.

this should work Source: I use this exact cable

Instead of using a splitter try to adapt one of the display ports to hdmi. Maybe even do both that way so you know the results will be the same.

Use a hdmi to DP adapter
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015OW3M1W/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_sT58Eb9BC6NK8
Or just a hdmi cable if your screen has hdmi out

Wired is possible. Your GPU should have multiple outputs. One should be a displayport. You can get a displayport to HDMI for like $10 or less
Edit:
You're card does have HDMI and Displayport (DP)
You can buy this DP to HDMI cable and it would work at converting your DP output to HDMI for the TV.

> the card only has one HDMI out. Is there an adapter I can use (I've seen stuff online about active/passive adapaters and I'm not sure what I need)?
You could use an DP to HDMI cable: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DisplayPort-HDMI-Cable-Feet/dp/B015OW3M1W
> Secondly, I'm planning on upgrading my Processer - the information on the HP page for my pc which I bought prebuilt lists only one Processor I can upgrade to on that motherboard. Will I need to upgrade my motherboard too?
Depends on the motherboard, and if the manufacturer has a new BIOS version to support newer CPUs.
> and what is a good processor and motherboard that will last me a few years at least?
Can't say anything about Intel CPUs, but most people would currently answer this with AMD Ryzen 5 3600. A reliable and relatively cheap motherboard with enough features would be the ASrock B450m Pro4. You will also have to look if your RAM is still supported, you would need DDR4. But there is a new Ryzen series coming soon if you want to wait.
> Is it worth upgrading the GPU anyway, as the performance will still likely be better even with the bottleneck?
Had the same problem last year but did it anywas (GTX 950 -> GTX 1060 with an Athlon X4 880K). Didn't get much more FPS, but the graphis were way better.

The beauty of digital connections is you don’t even need an adapter, just a cable with the two different ports you need:

You need to be careful on which one you buy as some cables are only one way. If the computer is displayport and the screen is hdmi this cable should do the trick: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DisplayPort-HDMI-Cable-Feet/dp/B015OW3M1W
If it is the other way around you will need to make sure you find a cable that supports hdmi to displayport.
1 points • WizardsWizard
Upgrading to 16gb of RAM would be a good move, but yeah, you should be okay to run it. To connect it to the tv get a Display Port to HDMI cable.
1 points • StealthSecrecy
No you'd need an adapter or a cable like this.
Note that the cable takes a video signal from DP and turns it into HDMI. It cannot take a video signal from HDMI and turn it into DP. For your purposes this cable will work.
1 points • pdmcmahon
Just buy something like this, no need to overcomplicate it by also having an adapter in the middle of things.

Or you can use this

I was told that part is not an issue but my next question is we cannot get the monitor to display when its all plugged in the monitor just turns black.
What display adapter would you recommend buying so we can display the monitor?
We just bought this one earlyer today: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015OW3M1W/ref=cm_sw_r_fm_apa_i_PGlTEb3CAHERG?fbclid=IwAR3ZmJLVrv-uWj47USG08zryngIqYmknnYwM7F2zR6vedITUtBBx5MgTqxY

Also, a quick note about my general thought process when working on these builds for you.
Linux plays nicer with Nvidia graphics cards, in my experience, so that's all that I recommended for your uses.
If you do not have a DP input on your monitors, you will need to pick up one of these: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DisplayPort-HDMI-Cable-Feet/dp/B015OW3M1W

There are many Display port to HDMI cables.

Could be a bad port, very little you can do about that, it happens sometimes, and it would be costly to have the card repaired. If the card still has a free DisplayPort, you could get a cable: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DisplayPort-HDMI-Cable-Feet/dp/B015OW3M1W/

A splitter won't do the trick, as it will simply duplicate the same image on both of the external monitors. You didn't provide any details on what ports your laptop and monitors have, but I assume your laptop has an HDMI port. If your monitors only have HDMI and VGA ports, you can only connect one external monitor. Plug it in, go to settings->system->display, and tell Windows to extend the desktop, not duplicate it.
If both of your monitors have DisplayPort connectors, you may be able to daisy-chain them to get them both to work as extensions of your screen (thus giving you what you want). If your laptop also has DisplayPort, follow the instructions on this page to get it to work. If you only have HDMI on your laptop, you might still be able to make it work by using an HDMI to DP cable like this one. This, of course, assumes that your laptop supports DisplayPort 1.2 MST.

If by onboard, you mean the port on your motherboard, chances are your processor doesn't have integrated graphics. Your motherboard's HDMI wouldn't work in this case. Does your graphics card have Display Port? It looks like HDMI but it's a trapezoid with only one slanted side. Amazon has tons of adapters and cables for that.

Could you be a bit more clear with the last sentence please? Are you saying that the L24e-20 monitor doesn't work properly under any case or only when connected via the display port to HDMI adapter?
If your PC has a HDMI port, then to isolate these types of issues, simply test the monitors all monitors with the HDMI ports only (i.e. HDMI from PC to HDMI to monitor). If it works but doesn't work with the adapter, chances are it's the adapter.
There are direct HDMI to DisplayPort cables that you can use instead:
eBay - Gator Cable (I prefer these guys for their fast shipping)

Not that I know of. You need both cables for both monitors to go into your GPU. Something like that should be fine:
Though I suppose you will be limited to 60hz.

Describe why you need the graphics card a bit more. Are you trying to hook up a TV to your computer? Do you need sound on the TV as well? Are you trying to play certain video games, but the fps is too low?
If you're trying to connect your TV or an HDMI screen - they have VGA to HDMI adapters, as well as DVI to HDMI, and DisplayPort to HDMI cables. Take a photo or two of the back of your computer, and we could give you better advice on how to hook it up.
An Nvidia 710 is a cheap choice, but not really suitable for gaming. The 1030 can handle basic gaming.

It's all good, we all make typos. I knew what you meant just confirming before proceeding. Have you tried the same cable in both ports? Are you sure it's fully seated into the HDMI port?
You could reseat your GPU, it's a very simple process, if you are comfortable with that I can walk you through it. I'd like to try to get the port working, but if you'd really rather not bother with it, yes, there are other solutions. You have two HDMI ports, and what else? Most 2060's have a Type C, DVI-D, HDMI, and two Display Ports. You seem to have two HDMI ports you say, what else do you have? If you have Display ports, you can simply buy a Displayport to HDMI cable. If that isn't an option for some reason, I've heard of people using USB to HDMI adapters, although I've never tried one myself.
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DisplayPort-HDMI-Cable-Feet/dp/B015OW3M1W?th=1 That is a Displayport to HDMI cable from Amazon, which I've used. It's a cable, it works fine. It's also out of stock and you can only buy used, so here is Amazon's recommended cable:
Has a lot of great reviews, should work fine..it's a cable.
I'm not going to recommend any USB to HDMI Adapters because I have no idea how that technology works, I've never tested it. It could work very poorly, so be cautious.
The RTX 2060 came out in early 2019, and iirc IBuyPower PC's have a 3 year warranty. You should be well within Warranty to get your GPU replaced, because you should not have dead ports. Feel free to answer my original questions if you want to try to get the port working, or you can just contact IBuyPower and RMA it. You also have the option of ignoring it and just getting an adapter - but the problem may tu rn into something worse later on, personally I would just deal with it now if I was you.

Was wondering if i can setup my elgato with an HDMI to Display port cable since my monitor only has display port?
PS4 -> HDMI -> ELGATO -> HDMI-DISPLAYPORT CABLE -> MONITOR
or PS4 -> HDMI -> ELGATO -> HDMI -> HDMI/DISPLAYPORT ADAPTER -> MONITOR
Would either of these setup work?

Here is an extremely compact pc: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZNBQ27
- The case mesures 9 in by 13in and is 4 in tall
- I went with intel because amd mini itx motherboards are expensive
- You can save $45 by neglecting the cd drive
- If by "games with simple graphics" you mean 2d games like stardew valley or rimworld (awesome game), then you go with this build and save some money: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RTDrBZ by using the integrated graphics on the cpu. If you are talking about minecraft or civ, then keep it as is and ignore this point.
- You would need 1 display port to hdmi cable if you are going with the gpu, or 1 display port to dvi cable you are using integrated graphics. Or if you are using only 1 monitor or your 2nd monitor has display port input or dvi input, then use that and ignore this point.
- 1tb ssd should be plenty for both programs and files
If you doing mind performance then this part list should outperform a 10 year old laptop but would be a potato compared to the build I listed above: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ksgYCL

Edit: since you are going to build in 30 days, feel free to PM me when you want to buy the parts since prices do change.
